Looked for my lost pet and she wasn't there but the place it's amazing. The staff it's very friendly. Wish I could adopt many pets
Jackie Hernandez
Walked out adopting
Wendy Evans
The staff was so friendly and helpful when I was looking for my dog. They seemed to keep the kennels very clean and really care for and love the animals.

There was a dog posted on the website Mid-August. I expressed interest and made contact at the end of August. I made contact with the office twice more before the dog was supposed to be dropped off at the shelter (10/22). The previous owners cancelled their drop-off appointment on 10/17. The issue here is the dog’s listing on the website (in August) FAR before it was a guarantee that she’d be available. That alone would circumvent a lot of issues I had with ACS.
Thanks! Your review is awaiting moderation.
Yes. You should let them meet. It is encouraged.
I believe that is possible ,if not with ACS, then possibly thru the San Antonio humane society, or thru Animal Defense League. if none of these options work ,find me on Facebook and I will do what I can to help you procure a pet pal who needs you.
I am unsure contact ACS directly or call 311 ans listen to the automayed operator for help
Call ACS. If I believe correctly they specific times/dates that you can surrender your animal.
There is usually a free microchip and rabies clinic once a month, you can find out what day on the animal care website.
Not sure but I think they're going to tell you what they do
Automated system go in person
Yes you sure can
Yes. The City must maintain records. You can go though the City website and request an "O.R.R." which is an "Open Records Request"...this is the link https://www.sanantonio.gov/opengovernment
Yes they do and always except donations
No there isn't it's only for emergency for animals brought in to the shelter. If you surrender your pet they will treat it medically. You might have the option to get the pet back .
Same here.
Please visit our free and low-cost spay and neuter services in the link below. The flyer with the information will be on the left hand column of the page: https://www.sanantonio.gov/Animal-Care/What-We-Do-Services/Low-Cost-Services/Spay-Neuter-Services Thanks!
You would need to call ACS. I'm sure they would appreciate the donations.
In some cases
Go to animal care services on hwy 151..city pound
You may take thwm to Animal control services, they have a no kill policy and shelter. They will ne xared for
Thy can help with all just call thm n thy will take care of u n u mite leave with a new friend
Don't call ACS. They will just kill it. If you want the dog to be removed from your neighbor please find a shelter that the poor dog will have a chance at or someone who wi foster or adopt. The dog deserves a chance
I just did, I live in Medina Co. they were just glad I saved the dog from euthanasia
Please try to find them homes before you try to serenader them they could be put to sleep
They'll probably first need to be dipped to knock them off. Then I keep our dogs on Bravecto for fleas and ticks.
Thank you for your message. Please report this incident to 3-1-1 and they will dispatch an Animal Care Officer to this location. You can contact 3-1-1 by phone, or by submitting an online request here: https://311.sanantonio.gov/services Please be sure to provide as many details as possible including any known owners and the animal's description. If you are making your request online, please try to include any photographs of the pet. Thank you for caring for the pets in our community.
We partner with several organizations to offer low-cost and free spay/neuter services. Please note, free spay/neuter services are for qualified City of San Antonio residents only with all others qualifying for low cost services as available. For a list of qualifying zip codes within the City of San Antonio as well as participating locations, please visit: https://saacs.info/spayneuter
Email them or drop by to be sure they have room. They will givevyou a form to fill out, you'll need to make an Appointment to surrender them.
Some positions allow 14-18yrs (with an adult), but most are 18yrs. You are required to complete an orientation with the volunteer coordinator and a background check.
Is she/he fixed. If not then he/she needs to be fixed and they should calm down
They have a list of Veterinarians they use and may be able to help you out with that,if not try Becker Animal Hospital and Resort. They are only $74 for an evaluation and are open 24/7.
Take the kitten to the shelter right away if you can, if not Call 311. Tell them you have a stray kitten and it is contained. Animal Care Services will pick it up within 24 hours.
Yes, IF Petshots is still coming there. Adopted animals get shots with the adopting.
You can go to the ACS Website and see if they have room. They open at 1pm as well. Not sure if they're doing intakes right now,but they do have Fosters available.
Toucan call them to report it and ask for pick up. If they have the space they will do it.
Buy good flea med, you'll spend at the least $50 and up. Fleas hate tea tree oil. Not sure if its safe for cats
After looking around online, you are considered a daycare provider if you hold on to the animal for 4 or more hours...
Yes they do u should go and donatei know those dogs would love to feel some kind of çlothing on them since winter's coming n they walk the dogs outside
Wow , that definitely is hard question to answer, that is a ACS question
No
You view the available/adoptable pets on site and/or online. Online also shows the adoptable pets that are in foster care as well. Once you select a pet write down their ID number, for the online pets, and submit a request to see if they are still available for adoption. If so you can either download the and print the application or fill one out at ACS. After that the adoption process should take about 30+ minutes. All the pets come with their 1st set of vaccinations, rabies vaccine, spayed/neutered, dewormed, are flea & tick free, and some training.
On Mondays pet shots does reduce price shots and free rabies and microchipping at animal care services
I priced shots and They are the cheapest around. I don't remember pricing. Probably on their website. I take my newly adopted dog there for their free training on Thursdays, always a mobile vaccination clinic.
The feed stores sells them for $7.00 each some feed stores charges $10. The one in the Southside on Roosevelt right at the corner to your right at the red light. They sell them for $7.00. But, if you don't want to go there. Vet Clinic on PLEASANTON and S.W Military next store to Pizza Hut sells them for $21.00 each pill. But it covers fleas and tick in 1 pill. It works fast and I recommend it. The pills at the feed stores usually works by the 2nd or 3rd treatment... trust me I tried it already. It works, but after 2nd or 3rd treatment. But, if they are ferral cats. You might want to take them to the animal shelter. They give them all their shots, and I think flea treatment. I would think to control infestation within the buildings. Best of luck...
Their inventory consists primarily of mixed breed dogs and puppies, ranging in size from very small dogs to very large dogs. They come in black, Brindle, brown, white, and mixed colors. As the inventory changes, check the web site to see photos of the currently available dogs.
Monday shots are $ 10 for rabies.
Don't listen to Tracy, that's not how microchips work. Microchips are scannable, they can't be tracked, they're not a GPS. But since it is microchipped call the police and they can prove it is yours. File charges. If someone stole my dog, I'd shoot them on the spot so you have greater restraint than me waiting for police involvement.
Well the only place I know that helped my dog was a place call ed Blie Cross Pet Clinic on 124 St Cloud 210-735-5259. Good luck
Monday
This is the City Ordinance (Law) if you live within the City Limits... "A maximum number of eight (8) cats or five (5) dogs, or an aggregate number of eight (8) is permitted at a residence within the City limits. In order to have more dogs and/or cats than allowed at a residence, an owner must apply for an excess animal permit which shall be valid for three (3) years. City of San Antonio Animal Codes - aapaw If they EXCEED make sure that they have a Permit with the City... If not then they are In "Non Compliance" Status and they need to be either EDUCATED and Informed OR Fined if they are Habitually Irresponsible... There are a lot of irresponsible people in the city of San Antonio unfortunately that is what's contributing to a lot of these problems. So if we take the opportunity to educate and inform then we should hold passing judgments. Otherwise if they are habitually being irresponsible after being educated then we have serious issues. There are FREE Spay/Neuter Services.
I am not sure. It would partly depend on if they knew where the puppies were. Also, if they took them they may have just euthenized them. I am not sure of their policies on this.
a month ago they were at capacity on strsy cats n suggested a familly wo needs a batn cat take strays or a feral cat. They will treat the cat. Ive had 21 ferals fixed--7 still come for breafast n dinner Wont you take care of "1"of God's poor little creatures! :)
Call and make report, they gonna yell u to wait 30 days before anyone can come get puppies
Get a cat that you like. It shouldn't matter the age. All the animals there are I need of a home. Kittens are great but they always get adopted. Older cats are awesome cause you know what you are getting. If the cat has the personality that works for you, don't worry about age. Cats live way longer than dogs (up to 20 years). So you have plenty of time with an older one too.
Yes....but I don't know how much. 😇 For cats, I believe the fee is $30.
Dogs and cats only from what I saw when I was there.
If the city passed an ordinance to microchip your pet you can get fined if you live inside city limits but outside it does not obligate an owner to do so nor can they arrest you for not spaying or neutering your pet, these acs officers are overstepping.
Well i adopted a dog for 50 n she got fixed n she got a ship in her but they don't put chips for freeit was free n my dog didnt cry or anything
Just because a dog can adapt a certain weather doesn't mean he needs to be chained up outside. Isn't that illegal now? Also in Texas you're only allowed to have up to 4 dogs so I would make a police report and complain about the barking
No there's a fee but sometimes they have reduced the price call gor information
Not to burst anyone's bubble but theres bo such thing as a "no kill shelter" they euthanize animals daily. Call San Antonio Humane Society on Hwy 151. They are the main location and should be able to get you contact info for other locations that may handle your area
Wednesday from 10 am to 4pm 50.00 dollar First sessions only Wednesday's though. Then they schedule you for the second 1 month after
They make you pay so much money even after they say they will help you with the tickets
Check the Animal Care Services website. They just announced an event day.
Yes, call or email them and get info for an appt. Also you can get a free chip.
Your Dog are not allowed to be on a Chain that's a violation. And if you don't have a Sign "Beware of Dog" you are response and can get a Fine.
Google nearest no kill shelter and it will tell you whats close
That's really odd cause cats, usually don't use there nails when jumping on something stable and burry there poop! But, some people just hate cats!
Not understanding your question
No i found homes for them
Faster if you go in. I believe they are just volunteer s there.
Sanantonio.gov
Yes check out website at the way bottom
Go on to pet harbor, other places to search for missing pets are group pages on Facebook suck as lost/found pets of San Antonio.
Petshotz by the zoo. They also go to acs every Monday from 2-5. Depending on what shots your puppy needs (rabies, dhlpp which is 4 shots to be completely protected against parvo and distemper; bordetella) if you get the rabies, 1st dhlpp and bordetella then itll be around 45-50$ then the dhlpp alone after that for the next 3 shots is around 15-20$
Can I drop a rabbit off?. I can't care for it. I work to many hrs.
Dial 311, they can help for free
I’m in Leon valley
Well if your dog was picked up what shelter is your dog at? And whichever shelter your dog is at why don't you give them a call that's the best way to go. You might have to identify a dog also or maybe some proof I just don't know for sure just my opinion
I'm sure you could get a update on the dogs progress. They're all about the adoption. I would think you just have to register for the adoption process.
It can be both. Usually the 15 digits one is only numbers. The shorter one is a combination of numbers and letters. It depends on who is the microchip company
You can call 311 or also Animal Defense League
If they will even accept. Don't be surprised if you go and are told to make appt to come back. Then, Good Luck getting your call returned, since they don't answer phone. Emailing would be your best bet or best shots for a decent life would be give them baths, take pics and post ads publicly of all info you know of them and needing homes.
I'm not sure, they neutered mine for free but I adopted the puppy there too
On the outside it varies between $210 -$250
I'm not sure about FREE but the City of San Antonio Animal Care Services on 4710 State Highway 151 has beautiful animals looking for a good home. They have deals going on till the end of this month with low cost. I paid $21 for the adoption fee and I walked away with a beautiful puppy. Hopes that helps!
Thanks for your message. Cats are free to roam outside in the city of San Antonio. We suggest that you avoid feeding or drinking them. They will establish their colony on your property if there are food resources. For more information please visit our page here https://www.sanantonio.gov/Animal-Care/What-We-Do-Services/Outdoor-Cats-TNR
We provide free spay/neuter services for community cats within the San Antonio city limits. Our Community Cat Program (CCP) allows community volunteers to help us reduce the number of feral cats by helping us ""TNR"" (trap, neuter, return) feral cats throughout San Antonio. By signing up to become a CCP volunteer, you will play an essential role in helping us reach our mission of making San Antonio a better place for all animals. Get started by making an appointment to pick up your humane trap and voucher: saacs.info/ccp
As far I know they handle all of that before you adopt

Exactly what Galaxy WinterSage said
Hi Christina I can suggest for you to call 311 and they will tell you what to do .I apologize I saw your message..have a blessed day hope you find help
I'm sure they can
I’m just being honest yes the one that aren’t in the best shape like not going to make it to see another day or if they if they can’t be rehabilitated after working with the animal for so long and yes they do put them for adoption w/there shots and evaluate them making sure there in good health before doing so
It's best if you go there and talk to them in person. Depending on the reason your dog was picked up they can tell you what you need to do to get your pet back example of it was because your dog escaped from your back yard through a hole in the fence they may just require you to fix the fence so they don't escape again.
They do have horse stalls don't know if they can take them on though.
Quick suggestions if you have noy tried them yet: Does your son have any friends or do you have any family who would be willing to take pet. Reach out to humane society or no kill rescues since the dog is already chipped and has shots. ACS will not take drop offs and I believe you have to call 311 & select animal control for surrender. They will inform you of the surrender fee. They might not be able to pick up immediately and it may take up to a day or more. ACS is sadly overwhelmed with dogs and if dog is not adopted/fostered out after so long, which isn't super long. It is at risk for being euthanized due to the overwhelming population of stray, unneutered, unspayed and not chipped dogs
Yes they do. You can visit their website and there should be a link you can click to put in an application to foster.
No, they can come home the same day if there are no complications.
Not sure , but you can call 311 to make sure, or a local animal traper
Caritina-Checkout Their Website. You can see all the Strays brought into their facility. Bear in mind they Only if their lucky placed on Hold I Believe for 3 Days and if Not Claimed or Fostered they're Euthanized.
Just go in and change it and your vet can usually do it too
I would give them a call to find out.
Oh.. tried to take a cat that was abandoned and wanted.to fix her and bring her home but they told me they dont spay family pets..this cat showed up..it was not ours but wanted her to come back to our home area and they said they dont spay family cats..it was.not our cat but were willing to bring it back to our area..they said no they dont spay for people other than community cats..it was.a.community cat..good luck..but we took it and they turned us away.they were.to full..so what are we supose to do..poor animals.
Only if you adopt a pet from my understanding.
I am very sorry to hear that. There is a vet clinic who will put u on payment plan tho. Becker animal clinic try them. Let them feel ur pain when u talk to them.
Let them be. The shelter will not take them in. Cats are considered wildlife in SA. Unless they are sick or injured, you will get turned away. They do have programs that will spray/neuter stray cats. But need to wait until the kittens are at least 2 pounds(maybe 2 months). But the mother needs to get sprayed when the kittens are around 6 weeks, since the mother can become pregnant again around that time.
Nope! They currently do not take over the counter owner surrenders. You have to call 311 and get a case number then WAIT sometimes days for an animal control officer to pick up. If you cannot contain the dog, sometimes they will advise you to let him go! If the dog is injured, they will speed up your case. Tell 311 if they are. Also if you have found a homeless dog, go to any vet for a free chip check. Good Luck.
Yes I just saw a post on Facebook with a turtle that was found on the south side
At 1PM on Monday take it to a.c S . Just tell them that it's a stray.
San Antonio Feral cat coalition, they might be able to help you
Best to call 311 and let them know that you have a stray puppy. When they come get the puppy( it might take a couple of hours or days), ask them for the ID# and they should be able to give it to you. Then you will be able to check the status and updates about the puppy. If you do decide that you want to adopt it, you can come to ACS and talk to them about adopting it.
No. I'm at ACS and they informed me that there are no breeds restrictions in San Antonio.
If he is microshipped see if he has been turned in and go to their sit they have a lost and found animals. Animals are held for 3 days then put up for adoption.
I would just take it to San Antonio pets alive to see if it has a chip and if not they will put it up for foster care than they will just promote him/her for adoption.
Yes they have openings.not sure about age requirements
A lot of pet grooming locations will offer nail trimming services too. We use the Pets Mart by Potranco & 1604, they're great!
How is the dog I'm looking for mine is a sausage
There are vets like "Pet Shotz" that go by your income. I'm so sorry about your sweet kitty.
If you have a chip in your dog the Humane Society will notify you by text or email. I used my phone maps to find the Humane Society. It is next to the Food Bank.
You need to call 3-1-1 and they will provide you with an e-mail for an appointment to surrender the cat, they are charges/fees related but they will explain more in the call or in the humane society website.
If you have the puppy in your position, then take him to a local vet. And they can report it and then if you don't want to keep the puppy tell the vet that you are going to take the puppy to the Human Society.
The snake toung will still be moving in and out.
I believe you have to make an appointment..I was able to go as soon as I was notified...
You name it they got it. Nice selection. You can't go wrong with a pet that needs a home and will show all the dedication and affection you will ever want or need. A partner for his or her life.
Delightful experience. Facility was clean, staff both friendly and helpful. Will gladly return and provide support when possible. Did not realize the shelter rescues more than dogs and cats but any animal in need of help or shelter. Kudos to this organisation !!!
As the last gentlemen stated.
We provide low-cost services with partnering vet lcinics for all SA residents. Here is the link for those clinics: https://www.sanantonio.gov/Animal-Care/What-We-Do-Services/Low-Cost-Services/Vaccinations For adoptions, the adoption fee is very reasonable for everything our shelter pets get when going home: firs month of vaccines, heartworm and flea preventatives, spay/neuter surgery, free basic training and a registered microchip.
The animals are free the only thing you're paying for is the medication and the things used during the surgery in order to keep your animal healthy when you take them home
Pet Cremation is not a service we provide. You can search for that service near your area, some private veterinarians may provide that service for you.
She is correct online registration is required.
They have pet boxes (cardboard), but you'd be better off bringing your own crate if possible.
It is recommened that they are 18 yrs of age, with valid ID and relieable transportation to pick up the pet. Also to bring in pet for medical treatment or meet and greets.
Call 311. The city will pick it up and take it the shelter for animals to treat and adopt it out.
Make an appt online through ACS website. I believe you can fill out the app online. Then just show up on you're scheduled date and view the available pets to select from. I'd ask which ones have been there ther longest and think about adopting them. It's sad when they keep getting passed up.
We're sorry to hear about your lost pet. We've created a list of steps on what you can do to help you find your pet: https://www.sanantonio.gov/Animal-Care/What-We-Do-Services/Adopt/Lost-Your-Pet We scan each pet that enters our shelter for a microchip. Please be sure to check with your microchip company that your contact information is up to date. You can see the pets in our care at this link: saacs.info/petsearch If you'd like to visit our shelter to look for your pet, please schedule an appointment here: saacs.info/bookservices We wish you the best in your search.
You can surrender your pet. They charge between $50-$100 depending on why you are surrendering the animal..
Yes they should be able to
Yes
Really....... They have a lot a puppies, adults dogs and cats you can choose, expend time with them and the most important part save one life. Don't expend 300 or more in one dog whe you can save one life.
You have to call and make an appointment.
ACS isn't a "no kill" shelter, there are always animals on the At Risk for Euthanasia area of the website. Now SAPA, which is run in a separate facility within the ACS property, they are a no kill shelter. However, yes I do believe ACS is accepting animals. Strays that are being held can be picked up and taken to acs by an ACS animal control team. They'll be put in their system immediately with an A-number. If you are looking to give up your pet I also believe they are accepting animals for that, there will be a wait period though as they will have to make room for the new animal. I honestly suggest looking into other places to give up your pet or to have a stray picked up. ACS does what it can, but it needs more fosters badly and people aren't adopting animals as quickly as the animals are coming into the shelter, so some have to be put down sadly. Try local humane societies, rescues and whatnot. See if they can help first, and if not use ACS as a last resort.
Well when are cat passed away we had him cremated at Becker animal hospital, I hope that helps 😊
No
I think they don't offer that service for now. But if they can give you information about other places that can give you the service at low cost
I remember seeing an ad they are having an event, prices lower. I would check their website
I don't think so
That would be a question for the director
When there puppies
You should go asap I dont know how long the process of intake is?
Check with any vet's office. They should be able to help you. I'm so sorry you have a sick onen prayers your way.
Dont go there. The humane society has a place off of 410 and Fredericksburgs rd. They have more of a selection. Animals are healthy. Got our boy there. We love him.
Not really but they dont hand then out unless surgery is involved, #gauze
check the kennels
T8KE HIM 2 D VET cuz it might jus need medicine & no need 2 put him dwn my dog Anubis went thru dis & all I need'd 2 do was chg his food & he is 18yrz old
Yes
They would have to examine the animal first then it would have to be approved before the put an animal down. Its tough
They give immunizations and spay/neuter animals but are limited on availability to cure them depending on the illness they have
It's better to go out to their center and they will help you
Yes with a fee. And there putting them down right now.
I got through them by email
While some pups are already neuter. They do ask for a deposit of a dog to young to be fixed which will be refunded after you prove they were fix... atleast that was how it went down for my moms dog 4 years ago
Yes you need an appointment.
No you really shouldnt bother it. Amarillos are responsible for keeping away snakes and ear 1000,s of mosquitos a season.
They should be able to assist you with a loaner because they do it for ferrel cats to get spayed/ neutered and released back out.
I recently adopted a cat and well you need to go and make sure everything is correct and your getting the one you want , cause they had called us to pick him up and we almost left home with the wrong cat ,they gave us a different cat.
No maybe if you get lucky your looking at about 90 percent dogs and the rest cats
You may what to call to get information from 311 before you show up or some just call them at ACS just ask for information.. I would hope not, no telling now a days . Good luck Prayers for your dogs...And I'm lifting you up in prayer that it all goes well for you.🙏
I would get one as soon as possible to help you and your other dog with the sadness and the healing process , not that its replacing the hurt and love for the loss of of your pet. But this will help you both healing. My Deep condolences for the loss of your pet. May God give you the peace that surpasses all understanding . Blessings🙏🙋♀️
Normal business hours 8-6
Just....trained your dogs 😒
ACS uses Petshotz who gets grants to spay and neuter for free. Normally on Tuesdays... Give Petshotz a call ask them for the next free spay/neuter clinic and just show up
You have to have your ID and then they have a form for you to fill out. It's quite simple
Not to sure but u can call.
I'm pretty sure you could be charged with animal neglect or cruelty for leaving animals tied up outside all day and night in the hot summer months where tempatures reach over 100 degrees.
No they are not a vet. However petshotz vet is there giving shots on Mondays at discounts. You have to go to their office if pet is sick. Also, Becker Animal Hospital on IH 10 and loop 410 is a good vet too.
Pretty hard
You need to go take a look, or call them, to see what's available. It changes daily. This is the very best place to go to get that new family member. They've had their shots, have been bathed, seen the vet and been neutered. The fee changes, we got our kitten on a $5 day.
No home visit. It's just questions and a little education and they make sure you understand the needs of your pet. Adopting one of these poor fur babies is one of the nicest things you can do! You'll get a loving and loyal companion out of it!
Do Google search for "free or low cost dog shots".
sanantonio.gov Then go to Career Center on the left-hand side
Alot of dogs here are strays or dogs that cant be handled. Older dogs mostly. Hardly any puppies
If you take care of they're yours. You can call them put it's faster if you take them there yourself.
You can make an appointment to surrender to ACS. In the meantime they can scan for chip for contacting the owners. You could also try to rehome them yourself, but be careful as some will use the animals to bait their illegal fighting dogs as training. Best to contact ACS and follow their suggestion.
They're qualified as a no-kill shelter because less than 10% of the animals they take in are out down, but some are euthanized eventually. You can call and ask about particular animals if you have their shelter number!
If you have any other pets you need to have proof they are up to date on their vaccinations and provide their current veterinarian's contact information.
Yes they take donations of new towels, blankets, unopened food, and new toys for the animals. You can also volunteer time as well. Money is always welcome.
Yes. According to their web site it's free depending on where you live. https://www.sanantonio.gov/Animal-Care/What-We-Do-Services/Low-Cost-Services/Spay-Neuter-Services
You can call police non emergency line and file a report on the owners and the officers will even pick up the dog. 411 is good for strays. But filing the report with the police will force the owners to take responsibility.
No
Yep BUT, just the other day they put down a small dog that someone was trying to rescue off the highway 410 in the heat, the poor dog had a injured leg and they said they couldn't help/fix it(too expensive) so they killed her the same day. didn't even try to find its owner. So sad the lady that found the furrbaby said the the pup Looked So happy it was being found /"rescued" finally. .... When I read that I bursted out in tears and hugged my dog tight.
I believe you can
Call 311 for more information. I hope this helps.
You can call 311 and report the aggressive animal.
Yes
Definitely call them ASAP
Call 311 and report stray dogs in your area.
Have you actually filed a service request for stray animal pick-up through 311 and/or ACS's website? I would also contact your councilmember.
You have to call to find out
If I remember correctly it is Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday. To the best of my knowledge, you are not able to make an appointment. Call or email the Community Cat Program at ACS. Their info is on the ACS website. It sometimes takes them a while to get back to you, but it's because they're very busy. It's an excellent program and it's free!
No. You have to call for an appointment to surrender.
Can I surrender litter when I get someone help me fill out forms
You can call animal control services. Best to register with animal contol services on the web site If you lose an animal pawboost is great. Or nextdoor.com. get you nieghbors and friends invilved as well.
The dog is now legally owned by another person, there is no way to get you dog back. Keep an eye on your dogs next time so this does not happen, very easily avoidable
Their is one off of Broadway and 410 west. It's call Emergency Pet Hospital.
Texas vet 1st visit if free then 50 after that.
No
Yes you can call them, and they will take care of it
It all depends on the condition of said animal. If its adoption they can keep them, if the animal is mean, biting and has a history of biting and no one adopts them they can be put down. They have a 90% adoption rate. (210) 207- 4pet fro more info.
No way
Thank ypu
I'm not absolutely sure but I would think so. I believe it's 6-8 weeks of training, which I believe is awesome on the coast of ACS to provide. Sorry I couldn't help any more but you could call and ask. Their people are always busy so you might have to get a call back.
My name is Armando. I am wishing 2 volenteer with yall. Please let me know when i can.
ACS is made up of multiple staff members of all kinds of departments. The adoption counselors are on hand there for those that want to come in and adopt animals from the shelter so they are open. But as for the animal control officers, they probably take Sundays off I'm assuming.
They told us the same. They checked for heartworm and neutered him and put in a microchip but the rest of the check up is up to you. They also gave him his shots. All in all the money charged was fair plus they give you 6 or 8 weeks of training free. It's also for registering your dog with his own vet.
You would have to talk to admin ofc.
Do you operate DOGS for free
Hello Angela, Yes, i agree w Digitally Imported u want to call ur pups vet n ask....
They cremate them.
Animal Control CAN NOT take your animals by law. That would be ILLEGAL. I have been in property management and they are telling you this to scare you. They are requiring you to pay a deposit or they will evict you because you were not allowed to have your animals. There is no law that will have animal control come get your animals. You need to speak with the management company and make arrangements either to pay a deposit move or rehome your animals.
Hello Victoria, Yes, just call before going to make sure they have space for them....
How often are you looking to get your dog walked and how much are you looking to spend a week. How many times a day etc?
Hello Bonnie, I don't understand their process either and really don't like the thought of those loving pups and cats..I am a huge animal lover since my husband and i don't have kids and take in all strays around my house..lol....If we all try to take in animals maybe just maybe we can help that population...I understand where your coming from and don't have an answer for you, I really wish i did Bonnie.... I'm sorry...
Hello Elisabet, That I am not sure, i know they do give some discounts but for what idk.... You may want to call them and make sure...Sorry....
Hello Esmeralda, I don't know about flea injections, you may want to call just to make sure ma'am...
Hello Melda, I personally do not work there, they have awesome docs. whom do the surgery....
The program you are specifically referring to is called "the community cat program". Maybe try a google search
Contact the microchip company and let them know she is lost. If someone finds her and has her scanned your information will come up. Also, contact ACS in case they have her. This way they know you are looking. They don't always scan so check daily. We lost our dog 7 months ago and got her back because she was chipped. Good luck!
I've been calling and sent an email.
Yes, you can take her to ACS...you can call and report those kids to SAPD too... Animal Care Services Department Phone: 210.207.4PET (4738) Address: 4710 State Highway 151 San Antonio, TX 78227 Pet Drop-Off Hours: (Based on space availability) E-mail ACS Intake to begin pet drop-off process Tuesday - Friday: 11:00 am - 6:30 pm Saturday: 11:00 am - 4:30 pm Sunday/Monday: CLOSED Email them and let them know what's going on... their response time is pretty quick... Good Luck 😊
It's only available to San Antonio residents
On that I am not sure.
So sorry for your loss..try to sell the dog first. Or you can surrender him/her for a small fee. Or give the dig away to a family member.
I'm so sorry for your loss
Take them to animal care services at 11 am. There is an adoption special going on this weekend and they will get adopted fast.
I believe so. As to a donation I'm not sure.
No charge and free microchip if you are San Antoio resident
No they won't do that, but you could call your local vet, most will take donations. Animal defense league has a after hour donation box!! Hope that helps!!!
Call for exact price. But yes believe it is around 30 as stated.
Call a vet, and see if thete are low cost options. Or if there are any programs available for assistance.
Nope. They kill for "space". If they really cared about their animals they would never kill them unless the animal was suffering. Please don't support ACS
Humane society takes them depends on their capacity. You can call and see if they are accepting kittens.
Mainly dogs and cats but they occasionally have other types of exotic animals too. You just have to check with them from time to time.
It sounds like getting together with a non profit rescue would be the best thing for you... They would be willing to give info on the start up process. Or maybe like a local kennel like green dog kennel of josephine st. Or which every is close to you!! Id also stick with the mom and pop places i imagine they would be more willing to help out!! Best of luck!
The clinic does free spays & neuters once a month. I can't recall which day.
You will need to go to the pound & look for her& give them the info & they will tell you how to check their website.
No they do not
You have to make an appointment for the animal. There is a fee
Nope. They kill for "space". They don't care about their animals. They care about the money. Please don't support ACS
Pet Shotz inc. is there Mondays for microchips. They provide other services as well, there's a list on their website. All animals adopted out of ACS are already microchiped as well.
Yes. Call 311
What’s the cost
Yes you can, but be careful of an older white woman with short hair who is an employee there because she can be very rude to people.
Thank you! Leslie Starkey it was just a simple question because I heard different don't be so judgy girl
Your Dog and Puppies or only Puppies? If you want drop off only the Puppies how big or which mix Breed they are. If that are small ones I will take them, working for a Rescue Group. ACS right now kills Puppies and Mama why they are overfilled.
No
No it’s not 5 total animals. It’s 5 dogs and 8 cats. And if have more than that can file for an access animal permit.
For a feral Kitten is free, is it is your own and you don't want the Ear notched than you have to go to Snap or Human Society!
Call the city and let them know. They have a team that will pass by and pick them up. Although I think that they will only come for dogs and cats, sea animals don't have protective laws yet. Although it could cause salmonella, you can try. Good luck!
Because ACS doesn't care about their animals. They just care a out the money.
Yes. You make an appointment by calling or texting them or using their website. They can answer your questions. You can also get a free microchip and low cost shots.
I wish I could help you with that but the best thing to do would be to call them. I do know that I adopted a cat from there and it had some type of upper respiratory virus and I took it to them and they took care of it for me
You have to sign in at the Front, that is the first Thing you have to do. Than look if your Dog is there and if not wait to the Time where your Name get callwd.
Of that I am unsure but if you contact ACS or 211 you can find out more.
email them with id # or call them. but u hv to hv the id number...
interested
Yes is you live in San Antonio,
They showcase all the animals evenly. There are even cages for the so called unadoptable dogs right up front ti be seen before entering the buildings. The dog I adopted was shy and he found his forever home with me.
They have feral cats that run around. A lady just adopted one when I was there
They discounted vaccines and spay and neutering.
Call for information about different options
311 / ACS would be able to answer that one better thsn i. I would imagine thatif they dont that a pest control company in the atra would. And stay clear of them fir they could be carrying more than just rabies.
Call them and see if they can help you
That its done humanely . O had to have my dog pit down after he was hit and run over by a car. Perrin beitel animal hospital is where i brought Rocky. Its rihjt at loop 410& Perrin beirel. Staff there are a good caring and knowledgeable group. Hope this helps
ACS dors not have a regular veterenarian for walk in / civilians. The animal defense leaugue on nachodoches can help you if your on a budget or fixed income. Also the humane society on fredericks berg rd. Can help also. Hope this helped you
I believe they have certain times and days but call the one on 151 next to the food bank
You can call and they will give you all the information you need
Dessire is correct. The reason is San Antonio has a stray problem to many people let their dogs loose and cause a huge problem with strays. There are orgs out there that just go out and spay and release the animals to try and help with the population issue.
I believe that they offer free clinics once a month. Just look at their website for the next event. Free microchip too.
It $25.00 to surrender your dog and you have to send a email as well. You get to call as so to see when you can take the dog in also. I hope that help out!
25$ fee just it
I don't think so. My Vet charges bc they have to but him under to do a thorough cleaning job. I have Banfield, which covers visits and you pay a small monthly fee. I understand your position bc I am in the same position at this time.
Call 311 they can give you information
Be very careful going outside
They don't distribute there. They give you a list of places you can go according to your zip code. I went last month.😕
They will usually take whatever you have. Go by or check on line.
Call the Community Cat Program at SAACS. They will be able to answer any questions you have and will be able to give you the full schedule for drop offs.
Yes they will take them but give them a call first. They only take them on certain days
Yes
I believe you would have to fill out some paperwork stating that the animal does not belong to you and where exactly you found it, in case someone lost it in that area.
I have no idea. You may want to call.
Call them they'll take him
311, should be able to help you. Good luck.
do you spay cats there
Animal society on 420/Fredricksburg doesn't charge.
Try the neighborhood app. That is usually a great way to get the word out and have people looking for your pet. Also call 311 and check with them. Good luck
No I haven't been in that area
I am so sorry. You can call and ask. They adopt out pretty fast. I'm sure he's with a good family and very happy.
I would call them first and set up a time.
i
They will give you a questionare, ask a couple of questions, need an identification if renting a letter from the landlord stsying that a pet is permited.
The only way ACS will come out is if the dog has bitten and broke the skin of someone. Even then it might prove difficult to get someone out. I concur with the posting about calling in an attempt to get a paper trail started. That's another great avenue Rich Acosta!
Many dogs contract kennel cough at acs. This has been verified by two vets we know. It is treatable. Check with acs first since the dog is from there. Hope all goes well.
I had a friend that had a lab she had the surgery and lived 5 years afterwards. If Animal Care Services can't help you maybe you can call the Humane Society and they may have someone that can. Prayers for you in this difficult time.
Not certain.best if u visit there website.311 directed me
I know you love your furry friend , so I would find everywhere I need to register and do it , I hear ACS is not to good at scanning.
If you contact ACTS, they can give you contact information for free and low cost animal care service locations around the city. Good luck with your new kitty. 😀
What kind of treatment is your pet needing
I assume that you have enough information to reach ACS by reading the other responses. Were your babies micro chiped? If so I may have other resources that might be helpful in locating them.
There is a low cost spay and Neutering but it is run by another organization for some reason I can not think of the name right now. Most vets probably know the name or place. .
They took a dog we were adopting and have held him for 10 days. They refuse to give him back or tell us when they will. This organization is terrible.
As far as I know. I have only been there the one time and that was to pick up a foster. I would call them and see how it works
Just call the pound and if it has been chipped you should have its microchip number paperwork. If not call the pound anyways and go visit the facility and see if its there. Most likely you're going to have a fee for shots and your cat will be coming home with a cold so be very careful if its there.
Just a heads up this is not the contract for the shelter you are asking questions to random strangers that reviewed the place
I believe you can call 311 and they can assist you with this.
I think you need a permit if you want to do it the right way selling quail eggs. Or you can just do it at your own discretion. Raising them i think its fine.
Yes they do. You can go down there and get the info and schedule
Call your local shelter. Different fees for some animals.
Yes we are. Please be sure he or she is microchipped and spayed or neutered just in case he or she gets away from you. While we do not have breed restrictions we are not the best city for stray dogs and certainly not the best for bully breeds (i.e. breeding, fighting).
Acs and sapa both have puppies! If you would like, they both offer a foster program where you foster them temporarily and have the option to adopt for 25$ if you would like to.
Wash up carefully. They sold us a dog with distemper. Don't spread it.
Do not take your dog there. It is a cesspool of disease.
Ti fu t
The aim of ACS and organizations like SAPA (San Antonio Pets Alive) is to turn SA into a no kill city like Austin. In SAPA's first year, approximately 70% of the animals scheduled for EBI were saved through fostering and adoption. Sadly, San Antonio has a different mindset than Austin so it's hard to get people to adopt (a lot of dogs are surrendered because people can't afford to keep them anymore).
Yes
Where are you coming from? The 76 drops you off by acs
It's always always best to go in person. You gotta understand they are swamped and over crowded with animals. I had to go in person. Take proof though. Proof your dog is up to date on shots. Proof it belongs to you and microchipped. You can also look online on the ACS Website visit depending on when animals get picked up it trashes a while for them to be put in the system. If you do not take proof of shots they will charge you to give them shots and there is a fee to reclaim your pet. 50.00 for first time and goes up from there
Sure
Glad you got what you needed.
You can see if you know anyone in san Antonio city limits who lives in a qualifying zip code and use their address for petshotz or the humane society.
You can do the diversion program through acs. They'll provide flea, tick, hw test and preventatives if negative. Then you can adopt him for 25$ and they'll neuter and microchip him.
You can! Puppies are more likely to get adopted than adult dogs, but know that they've been at or over capacity in general since Harvey hit.
J L - they won't come
They just had a free clinic today from 2 to 5 pm. They will again in the future but not posted yet. They still offer low cost shots
San Antonio allows people to have a small number of chickens and rooster now. I would talk to the neighbor but not sure it will help. Maybe invest in ear plugs?
No, they don't share that info
Constant exposure to suffering causes empathic fatigue. They need a larger, rotating staff so they can focus on the animals rather than just getting through the day.
ACS has never been no kill, as it is a govt run entity, but has non-profit affiliate with San Antonio Pets Alive, which is a no kill entity.
Yes, and when you adopt, you get a free voucher for a dog wash at a different location.
If you do not have insurance, be prepared for a bad time.
Dial 311 if you still have the dog, and they will assist you and contact dispatch for an officer
Check the new city laws they just voted on. They now allow 8 hens and 1 rooster so pea fowl may be included in that. Check them first and then your HOA if you have one. HOA may say none.
Try calling and see if there's a recording or someone there to provide hours if they are open today. 210.207.4PET (4738)
Check the ACS website for your lost dog or you can come see in person. There are also other websites like pawboost.
Well they can if you adopt a cat.
You can look on the website and filter by date brought in
Yes
I would call ACS
The city of San Antonio
Would u like a cat let me know I can't take care of her she has her shot neutered
