My friend recently found 3 kittens in his yard. They seem friendly and are probably 7-8 weeks old. Since they are not neonatals, will the shelter accept them to be adopted out?

Not sure but I think they're going to tell you what they do

The other sign before you ever do anything with kittens is that you need to make sure there's not a mother somewhere around. Sometimes they leave them for a while to go hunting for food. The Humane Society on Fredericksburg Road we'll take care of them under given circumstances. There are organizations that can get them shipped to other areas. My wife managed to get three kittens last week transported up to Dallas to a foster.

I agree with everyone, you will have to call several shelters. Poor babies, wish you luck.

This depends on the shelters max capacity. This is kitten season and everyone is full. However, it never hurts to ask. In the even ACS cannot be of service to you, you might try several other rescue groups or caring for the kits til they are able to be rehomed.

They don't accept strays. They only accept surrendered pets. If you want to give up your pet and surrender it they will take it. But only on certain days. Call around and check with no kill shelters.
