If you pick up a cat that's been microchipped, do you contact someone? I'm asking because one of the cats our rescue group got from ACS a few years ago got out, and we can't find her.

Contact the microchip company and let them know she is lost. If someone finds her and has her scanned your information will come up. Also, contact ACS in case they have her. This way they know you are looking. They don't always scan so check daily. We lost our dog 7 months ago and got her back because she was chipped. Good luck!

I'm sorry to hear that and I hope you find her soon 😟 but I would definitely call ACS and find out if there is some way to locate her or get help considering she had a microchip.
