The next time my neighbors go out of town and leave their dog to starve, will ACS actually come pick up the dog or just leave something on their door??

The only way ACS will come out is if the dog has bitten and broke the skin of someone. Even then it might prove difficult to get someone out. I concur with the posting about calling in an attempt to get a paper trail started. That's another great avenue Rich Acosta!

Call 311 the animal control will come out and assess the situation. At least you then will have officail record of abuse.

Wow. So when a dog is starving to death they won't do anything but send a letter that might not get there until it's too late? Maybe I'll get her to bite me the next time they leave her to starve.

You have to really scream at ACS to come and get the dog.
