Yes. You should let them meet. It is encouraged.
It is encouraged, the lady above is foing a little over board and they do have areas for the adoptive families to go to in the back area of the court yard, that are enclosed, and the dogs and families then get to mingle to check for compatibility.
Yes
No! For ACS I can't speak as I adopted technically from SAPA which is the same building shown. I say No bcuz I brought mine down also to meet the new dog. There is no "meeting designated" area. I had to actually sedate my dog finally as she was upset at the large dog up front that lunged & barked @ her, the many dogs barking right beside us and the constant new intakes being walked right next to us, barking. I get it, they are trying their best. But when the meet goes so horribly, you don't want your dog associating the new pet w the havoc! I couldn't get out of there soon enough & even though the new dog wasn't the 1 I had planned to adopt I just couldn't leave her there either. I'm not trying to steer anyone away from rescuing these dogs, just the opposite; PLEASE ADOPT. This was strictly in ref to bringing your own pet. They need to make a designated area in front, away from all the madness.
Actually they ask you to bring your pet. They want to make sure they will make a perfect team.
I would not suggest you bring your pet to walk through all the kennels. It is a very chaotic environment. You can look at pets online beforehand or have somebody wait with your pet outside. Once you have selected the pet you are going to adopt, there are enclosed areas where they can meet. ACS requires you to spend a minimum of 30 minutes with the pet you're going to adopt and highly encourage you to bring you're already established pets with you to see if they're going to get along.
