Take the CTA Blue Line to the Clinton L stop. From there, walk one block south on Clinton, then west on Harrison till you get to the Greyhound bus station (11/2 blocks). Which is located between Desplaines St. and Jefferson St., on Harrison. This is for the main Greyhound bus terminal, btw. They have a train running from each terminal. When you arrive at terminal 3, as you come off the plane there is a flight attendant. Ask the flight attendant how to get to terminal 5 and (s)he will direct you.

I think the other person is correct. If it's checked in baggage, I think you just have to let them know about it. But as for carrying it on the plane, I don't think that's allowed even for people with carry permits. Unless you are part of law enforcement, then it may be different. I truly don't know. This depends on your airline. Flights can depart internationally from any of the terminals. They can only arrive in the international terminal. So check with the airline to see where that international flight will depart from.
