Im traveling to ak but have connecting flight in chicago, i dont need a carry permit for my firearm in my home state or my destination state do i have to have one for my connecting flight in chicago at ohare ?

I think the other person is correct. If it's checked in baggage, I think you just have to let them know about it. But as for carrying it on the plane, I don't think that's allowed even for people with carry permits. Unless you are part of law enforcement, then it may be different. I truly don't know. I would inquire further with the TSA rules.

If you will go through the security, you might need the permit. It is an international airport and the security measures are different
