Yes you can just not a zippo. It has to be a regular lighter. I'm a smoker and I always bring mine. Just flew a week ago

No. It's an international airport. Any butane or matchsticks are considered a threat. There is 1 lighter that is electric plasma that supposedly approved by the TSA. however, if you get someone ignorant at TSA you've just spent $30.00 for something that they will throw away or make you return to your vehicle and who wants to walk about 40 minutes to put their lighter in their vehicle if in fact they brought 1. Option 2, supposedly they say mail it to yourself but surprisingly won't tell you where that service is..So again you're out $30.00 for something that is authentic approved by the TSA.. Best not to carry ANY lighter at all. Best to package it in checked baggage. Then you might have it when you arrive
