We enjoyed the Uncle Jim Trail but were a little underwhelmed by the overall experience of viewing the canyon from the North Rim, to be honest. Opening day crowds were reasonable. Point Sublime campsite was a major disappointment, but we had a good time exploring the surrounding flora and fauna.

This was one of the must see places me and my wife had while visiting Las Vegas, it did not disappoint! From Vegas it turns out to be around a little over 4 hours, but it is a drive that’s worth it if you leave early. If you also plan on seeing the Grand Canyon you want to give this most of your day, just a forewarning. This drive is a haul and once you arrive you find out that you’ll sit in lines for quite a while to get to a place where you can park. Remember it’s the Grand Canyon so there will be lines for everything. Once you park it’s pretty much following the signs. There is a pretty big visitors center and gift shop with some pretty cool stuff inside. Also, remember what you’re here to see, nothing can prepare you for the experience. I was awe inspired and breathless upon seeing it and I was glad I did. My children loved it and instantly wanted to take pictures towards the edge, so make sure you watch you’re. There are no guard rails once you start going down the trail and that became a point where I had my kids at my hip. My children are 21, 20, 15, 13. Trust me you will be glad you know this information going in! Definitely worth seeing

Absolutely beautiful and breathtaking national park! The views from the many different overlooks are all stunning, all of the different trails within the park offer a great view, different levels of fitness needed for different trails. We only had one day to explore the park, not including the drive there and back, but a lot can still be explored in a short amount of time. Definitely worth the visit!

Before coming here I thought Grand Canyon was all hype. I was wrong. Pictures truly don't do this place any justice. You will have to come out and see for yourself how grand it really is. Would recommend planning on camping if you want to make it to the bottom since the hike can get pretty tiresome for those not used to steep declines on the way down and incline on the way up. Went during March and there was still compacter ice on one of the trails to the point where we had to turn back and take a different trail down. Would be a good idea to take hiking boots with spikes if going during winter and early March. Plan for shuttles to take long during peak times. We went during spring break and shuttles to take us back to our car after long day of hiking took about 1.5 hours which we knew going in but a lot of people waiting in line were getting uneasy and rude to each other. Bring water and snacks with you. They do have gift shops with snacks and beverages but to avoid waiting in line you might as well pack your own. Overall great time here!
Thanks! Your review is awaiting moderation.
I paid a $10. Fee for a senior pass, It allows me to enter any national park free for lifetime as well as anyone in the same car or up to 4 persons if they charge each person
There were lots of squirrels on top and in the canyons. Lizards were everywhere. Birds of all kinds and elk up along the south rim.....
The south rim bus system is amazing and easily accessible. The distances traveled between the bus stop and the canyon rim are very short with paved flat walkways throughout. You should have no trouble with getting around! :) Just be weary of the upcoming summer months though, it can get quite hot. Be sue to take a hat and sunscreen!
4 hours and 30 minutes 270 miles around
You can visit most of the park year round
Yes I agree!!
1. Its High 2.Its crowded 3. Its big 4. people fall off 5.There are mule rides 6.I would not take your children 7. there is ice cream 8.it is steep 9.It has lots of flowers 10.there are helicopter rides
No age limit and it's fun for all
Any National Park or Monument will have senior passes. You can also order them on-line from any National Park site.
You can buy a senior lifetime pass for $80 at any national park entrance gate or online at this link: https://store.usgs.gov/senior-pass
Early spring
Luke, The weather in this place is close to that of a desert. The roadways are all good, but mostly single laned routes. If you are driving there, I recommend you take with you enough water and snacks to munch on your drive. You will not find any rest areas enroute Grand Canyon West. This is where the the Sky Walk is located. However, after reaching there, you have a decent place to eat food and shop for souvenirs. Hope this helps.
In August 35 degrees at noon. Better to go early
Yes it's safe. As with anything tho....it's always a good idea 2 use caution & watch ur surroundings..
Grand canyon is a steep sided canyon formed by Colorado river.
It will be warm enough and you need some thick clothes in the night
The Grand Canyon National Park is located in the northwestern corner of the state of Arizona in Coconino County, in the United States of America. The Grand Canyon is located entirely in the state of Arizona. The nearest cities to the Grand Canyon South Rimare Tusayan, Williams and Flagstaff.
A ton. You can check online to get more information about specifics
the south rim
Yes dogs are allowed on the top rim trail. Dogs are not allowed in the trail that goes down into the canyon. There is a kennel where my dog stayed while I hiked down the canyon. The kennel staff was good to her. The cost was $22 for the day. They require your dog to have her shots up to date including the shot for boarding the dog. The park rangers are very helpful and me and my dog enjoyed this natural wonder. Amazing trip!
It is possible to actually walk the allowed routes that take you down in the canyon, not to hard, do-able that can be done without a guide of sorts
Yes,, but this is the season of snow... they rent bikes there, so bikes are encouraged...
There are no rules for scattering ashes. Just make sure that there is no one downwind. Mather Point Will be a good place to do it. There are a couple ledges that jut out about a 100' which makes a beautiful Vista. Just be careful and have a good pair of shoes on. Good luck and sorry for your loss. God bless-MG
Very beautiful which should be experienced once in life time. Loved the way it is formed and well maintained till date through the years. Suggest not to plan only one day. As it takes time to see different view points. Hope you enjoy your visit.
I write you a book
I was at the North Rim a couple of days ago and I saw at least 5 groups of people with their Razors out there.
Best place to ask is to contact the actual National Park or check their website, not ask Google Maps.
If you have enough money to take your pet with you, then take a frnd of yours!
If you have a disability you can get a lifetime pass for free
No hammocks allowed... Elk have gotten tangled in them before and now they are not allowed.
It will be easy to see going next week.
Maintenance, tour buses, employees (ect..). It's a business and like any business, it cost money to make money.
It is very beautiful. You can see many layers of rock in different colors everywhere you look. If you have the time (and the money) try flying over the Grand Canyon to see just how large it really is.
As a very large hole to find away around .
All absolutely lovely for anyone and kids of all age can appreciate its natural beauty, but if easy to get to the south rim is great!
Don't know call them and find out
Your good if you have that pass already.
We saw a couple of police along the route. When you pay to get in the park its automated
I don't see why not.
Maybe they'd get newspaper famous and a pat on the back, before they take the treasure away.
Can you ask in englisg
All military are free
Not sure. Please check out their website for holiday closures.
A mule is the species created when a male donkey and female horse mate.
In my eyes, one of the biggest wonders of nature. :-)
No it will not be open.
Yes
Depends on what you're looking for. North is less crowded. South is busy but has nice amenities. A compromise is camping at Desert View campground on South rim but 30 mins east of village. Secluded but accessible.
It is gorgeous! I know people think it is just a "hole in the ground." That's not the case at all...I guess technically it is a "hole in the ground,"😅 but it's so much more than that💞💓💞. Let me find a few pics. Be back in a few minutes!!! 😉
The $35 admission fee includes all National Park Programs, access to the shuttle buses, hiking trails, and ranger walks and talks. It does not include any 3rd party things like food, airplanes, helicopters, tours (though some may include the $35 in their tour fee). The skywalk is on native American land, and only accessible via one of their tours. (Note, this is a several hour drive from the main South Rim national park visitor center)
Snowed yesterday and today sunny but 45
Yes, take note which side of the canyon you wish to visit. The north rim or south. North has nicer camping options but both have all camping options.
A natural wonder. One of the world's natural wonders, the iconic Grand Canyon draws oohs and aahs from visitors perched at the edge of its towering cliffs. Carved by the copper-colored Colorado River, the colorful rock layers record billions of years of history and hide many unique species.
The entrance to the great national park of the canyon costs approximately 350 dollars, depending on the time you are going to stay, one has to bring allowed food and water during the trajectory to that place.
$35 per car including all it's occupants for entrance to the national park. If you visit www.nps.gov there is a list of discounts, free days and passes.
It is one of Gods great creations that is a must see and it was so awesome and when you go see it also because your just down the road where the meteor creator is as well as the petrifide garden is.
I used helicopter rode. It iwas very good. But over allnit is just moutins. Not much to look for.
It's a National Park, so you pay for a park pass. Depending on what type of pass you want, (ie, just one park, multiple parks, annual, etc.) determines the price. You can find park pass pricing at the national parks website. https://www.nps.gov/planyourvisit/passes.htm
I wouldn't recommend it. There are many safety recommendations when you go there. Mostly about falling down and dehydrating. So, your dog might be exposed to some risks that could easily be avoided if you didn't have it with you when you're there. Again, I don't recommend it but if you really believe you can overcome those risks properly you might as well take it with you. My regards.
None that I know of but if there is there still plenty of places to go find a place to park your camper and have a good time
Depends on which part you wish to visit. South Rim may be operational as it's administered by Aborigines who are not part of Govt Admin.
I discovered the Grand Canyon last week when I went there. It's your turn now go discover it. Pun intended. 😁
Will be offered to the river and back you should plan 2 days
The grand Canyon was formed by the Colorado river.
I'm not sure what is the entrance fee to National Parks for veterans. Since the government is currently shutdown, no one was checking our pass at the gate.
It's extreme very much extreme it would take you a life time just to see 30% of it enjoy
Flagstaff is the nearest town from grand canyon, is located about an hour south.
So beautiful you can your dad. Right now so cold. And snowing there. Just went last week. And you have to walk there lot. Depend your dad don't mind walking. And depends on weather too. So just make sure before u go about weather. Good luck.
First it was declared a national monument in early 1900's. Then in 1919, named a national park which it classified as a historical & scenic area that is used for conservation purposes protected by the federal government
#1 - The river Gods # 2- Amazing Sunrises and Sunsets #3 - crystal rapids #4 - Lava Rapids. #5 - Hike to the ancient grain storage #6 - Havasu falls #7 - the suspended bridges #8 - caves #9 - cliff lines #10 - how others navigate through the Rapids #11 - the celebration of life #12 - the different levels of rock #13 - fish I would list many more but I am not feeling well. The Grand Canyon is the most amazing place I have ever been as we were rowing into Diamond I started to cry I didnt want the adventure to end. I have posted over 1,000 pictures here on map quest so you can see what there is to see.
The canyon is vast, the height of the cliffs vary greatly from one end to the other. Maximum depth is about 6,000 feet.
It depends on what you want to do and what time of year you plan to visit. Stay in one of the park hotels - reserve as far in advance as possible. Same for rafting or mule trips. Doubly important if it's during high season. If you just want to stay nearby, do some basic tours, or hike the trails on your own, you can easily just show up in low season. But you should probably do some advanced planning if it's during high season because everything that takes a reservation will be booked. You can always hike on your own but you might not have a place to sleep.
Pima (Pima Point) - This observation deck is on the way Hermit Trail in the western part of the canyon.
Hwy 40 or route 66 and there are hotels before you get there . beat western resort or the grand canyon inn.
An SUV isn't nessacary though having a bigger vehicle will allow better comfort for you and your passengers I drove the other side of the canyon and it seems that no matter the time of year unless there is still snow on the ground your likely to experience at least a warm if not hot day so be sure your ac is up to the task
OMG, it's a must see for yourself is so beautiful please take your time for you and your family to go.
INDIA, DEHRADUN
I'm sorry I don't know either because it was yesterday and when we were there but there are campgrounds inside and all driving down from Williams
The fall at the North Rim is beautiful. We went in late September the Aspens had turned.
Currently, it is 30 dollars per vehicle to enter the Grand Canyon. Different prices if entering by foot or tour group. I would agree with previous post about getting the yearly pass, which currently costs 80 dollars. It gets you into all National Parks that charge per vehicle.
As big as you are comfortable with. We were on the South end and there were huge tour buses and coach sized RVs on the roads. This is a destination for people from all over the world and everyone's needs are catered to. Now, there are some skinny spots that might try your driving skills, but as long as your transmission is in good shape the hills and scenic turn-outs are all yours!
The temperature is usually about 10 degrees lower from the rest of AZ. I would say anytime besides the dead of summer is a great choice!
Jeans or shorts in Sept
Yes, I read that also. Mariah is correct.
It's pretty safe either way, however I Highly recommend you shuttle it. So much time is wasted waiting while driving inside the park. Oh man it's a pain during this construction period. Totally shuttle it. You won't regret it.
Oui but not expensive Very Nice
We went from williams. Had an old west show at 830. Got on train at 900. We took the observation dome on way u narrated tour to the South rim. Had a great conductor.we had entertainment guitar and singing a buffet of fruit pastery and juice . Tookthe bus tour u on the rim. Also narrated and included 2 stops and nice hot and cold buffet. Back on bus to the north rim. Had an hr. And a halfto tour. Took the first class train back same entertainment plus a old western hold up. A buffett of crackers and cheese. And on both trains all non alcohol drinks were free. All for 499.00 for 2 of us. Would do it all again awesome trip. They have different packages to choose from
If u have a senior national park pass u and ur guest are free
I think anywhere in the Grand Canyon is an awesome View... the south rim has many more access points I believe
From the visitors guide "The Village and Desert View on the South Rim are open all year and park entrances remain open 24 hours a day. North Rim facilities open mid-May and close mid- October. Park entrances remain open 24 hours a day during this time. Hours for visitor centers and businesses vary throughout the year."
According to the USGS website the following applies: Allows pass owner and accompanying passengers in a single, private, non-commercial vehicle to enter Federally operated recreation sites across the country, Covers the pass owner and three (3) accompanying adults age 16 and older at sites where per person entrance fees are charged. No entry fee charged for children 15 and under
The tours are excellent and most are already discounted prices.
The number can approximately reach form 10,000 if its hot and its not visiting season and the highs can reach 100,000 or more.
You would have to get a back country permit in order to do that. Parking is usually not an issue as there are 4 lots next to the visitors center. If you want they also have a year national park card for all national parks for about $80 this will get you in for free at all national parks. You can hike down for free but in order to camp you need a permit. Calling the backcountry services will help you on regards to any questions you may have.
Take the 215 connection with the 93. Then you join the 40 and ready.
The North rim is not open until May first. South rim is the best bet.
No, not in Grand Canyon National park. But outside the boundries on park you might depending upon airport and heliport locations
Probably I don't see why not
Yes jt is. Haven't been on that side yet, but i was told to make sure your gased up so you don't run out
You can just visit and if your active duty military they give you a full year pass to all national parks for free the most you would pay is $30 to park if your not military
Not sure for swimming, buy cannoying yes
Wow. Just wow.
Absolutely not.. its a national monument.
South Rim is where you will get amazing views.
Hi Yvette, You can buy a park pass that covers all the national parks in the United States. I have bought it a few times and it is $80 a year. It is the same size as a credit card.
Maybe because has a good advertising.
Right now, the plan is to keep all national parks OPEN throughout the duration of the shutdown.
It doesn't have to cost anything. You can take a tent with you and camp at the bottom but I believe you need to sign up with the park so they know you are there in case you have issues. You can ride a mule down there for $143. There is also lodging down there but that requires reservations months in advance. Good luck and be safe. Always let somebody know that you are going down there even if not all the way. That way if you don't return they will send a search party. It's very safe if you are careful and don't do crazy things.
Tusayan is the place to look for rooms, especially off-season.
A little bit of a haze if you are going to the north rim but only on the road as you travel to the rim once you are at the the rim their was no haze.
You have to be 62 yrs old. Purchase card at any park.
Yes
North rim of the Grand Canyon is closed in the winter. South rim Is open 24-7
Yes
I believe you have to purchase passes online. Some parks are not allowing any person to person transactions at the gate.
Flagstaff, Phoenix and Vegas. Flagstaff is the closest one. The drive there is amazing too.
I would presume they are open. They'd have to chase people out of the park otherwise.
The Rims are colder than further down in the Canyon and the North Rim is colder than the South Rim. Day time temps were in the 50s and nighttime near freezing but it depends on the day and elevation. And at sundown the temps drop fast so be prepared for that.
Yes unless you do something irresponsible. Know what you're doing or seek help from a professional guide or a trusted experienced friend.
A lot of camp grounds are closed at the moment due to covid... Check before you visit
Everyone else has said exactly what I was thinking but let me add something to that. I have noticed that although it has always been a policy of mine to leave a place better than I found it, many people are not that respectful of the beauty of nature and require someone else to clean up their messes. That requires a person to work for a wage. That wage needs to be paid somehow. Fees for entry is the answer. There are also numerous other expenses involved in the upkeep of public places. Please keep these things in mind when you see God's Creations and appreciate the people who labor to keep it beautiful for you and happily pay the small fee.
The park appears to be open 24/7 Depending on what you want to do will determine how much time you want to spend here. I have been here 2 days and could stay 2 more!
It's not I've had family who have had full recovery from it. As for the Grand Canyon it was still busy.
Yes. They are open and the water is very clean and nice.
By erosion from the Colorado River. To read more on how, see the National Parks Website https://www.nps.gov/grca/learn/nature/grca-geology.htm
The mailing address for Grand Canyon National Park is: PO Box 129 Grand Canyon, AZ 86023 Information phone: 8-5 pm daily. 928-638-7888
Keep them o. You will not lose them
Working for me
Yes! They just have to remain leashed. However, they are not allowed in restaurants, gift shops or the visitor center unless they are a certified dog for the disabled.
Go to the South Rim Visitor Center, it is open all year round.
Free
No! No drones in ANY national park, state parks and possibly county parks ( depends on state)
Sure, did you pay for entrance? Most National Parks, unless it has changed You pay and can go for a week
Closer to flagstaff on rt180, bout half way to flag from Valle you'll start seeing pull offs, trails. Or just stop at Raptor Ranch its not bad n has wifi laundry n a bird show n gas station across st
Google Bright Angel lodge Grand Canyon
I agree
Theres mule deer. Some elk now and then some wild horse coyotes Mountain you see a mountain lion if you're really lucky
There's Google, and you could call the Grand Canyon visitors center for information.
Ok for one day trip, leave early morning, explore, come back late evening.
Was just there and there were people from everywhere using common sense. Talked to many people. Took pictures of people with their phones and handed phones back like normal human beings. Just go and enjoy one of the wonders of the world.
its layered bands of red rock revealing millions of years of geological history..
yes but most restaurants closed. South rim side only.
Tusyan is 2 minutes outside the south rim entrance. Plenty of restaurants near along with motels. Expect to pay 50% more for anything there. I recommend filling up gas before and getting needed supplies in advance. I have been traveling a lot and by far the most expensive city so far they are price gouging there .
I know there most definitely are! You would have to check out the prices online.
Only saw bus, rv, and car parking.
Probably have to pay for pass and maybe camping
I will recommend, to have your child in your arms at all times, and it's more than 5,000 feet down.
Probably not..but yeah I would call
By all of use gazing down at its incredible depts and when it became a national park probably the navajos the reservation is close by
The main cause of the erosion that formed the Grand Canyon was water; most scientists agree that it formed when the Colorado River started carving through layers of volcanic rock and sediment between five million and six million years ago.
I'm not sure, let me get back with you on that. I'm ask my son ok!
Hotels in the South Rim of the Grand Canyon include El Tovar Hotel, Bright Angel Lodge, Maswik Lodge, Kachina Lodge, Thunderbird Lodge, Yavapai Lodge and Phantom Ranch. Just outside of the park is the town of Tusayan, which completely revolves around Grand Canyon South Rim visitor I liked ELTovar as it's was a budget hotel Arizona is nearest airport However, I went to LA then went to canyon
Awesome....it's a natural wonder. If you can, go and walk out on the sky walk. It literally places you out into the canyon. You can also see below you. You can grasp just how deep and majestic the canyon is. If you are afraid of heights, you may not want to try this. It is completely safe. Look it up on Google, etc. There are many ways to enter to see the Grand Canyon. You will see different things at different spots.
Yes. There are cabins and lodges at the canyon. There are also places close by you could stay.
Regardless of how it was made, it is majestic. It literally brought tears to my eyes when I visited
You only need a reservation if you want to stay at a lodge or campground. There's plenty of parking at the park and free shuttle buses. The park entry fee is $35 per vehicle. Well worth it.
Look online under National Parks
no only rafting . going to the rover is a long walk or donkey ride...
No shuttles are going to cost you money
Yes they will by donkey unless your deep in the trail if so they won't.
It's expensive...$56 just to get in & $26 for the skywalk. Only a few minutes, you don't get to bring your phone or camera (they take pictures to sell you later on). The west entrance is owned by natives & not the National Park Service. Save your money & visit the sSouth Rim.
I visited in December and just missed a snowfall. I would concur with the answers already provided.
They are curious, but will not atrack unless they are very hungry or feel threatened. Anyway, h.sapiens is a very powerful and dangerous species to them.
Any age!! The South Rim trail is paved. You can push a stroller or wheelchair on it. Saw a lot of dogs on walks too.
Boredom causes such stupidity. Get a job and do something productive.
"Do you use Google to find most things?" No, cell service at the Grand Canyon is spotty at best. Ask a rangerbornyour hotel front desk if you have questions.
It's more dangerous there. There is only one viewing platform. Everything else is steep and unprotected.
I believe the site says open 365 weather sometimes though limits that because of road access
" Until recently, the Grand Canyon, one of the most spectacular and mysterious natural wonders of the world, was thought to be about six million years old. With improved dating techniques, geologists now believe that it actually started to form some 17 million years ago."
They do have a senior pass. Off of memory, its $20 for 1 day, $80 for lifetime.
Yes, I know you can find them at the visitors centre.
Some point, but it is so huge !!
We have many big old canyons. The only way to properly express how much bigger this one is than ALL others is words. The word happens to be "Grand".
Agreed with the first part of the answer but the timeline is much, much sooner. If you are a creationist, thousands of years ago; if a geologist then about 6 million years ago. As for why? Go stand there and look across 20 miles of Earth. Otherwise, not enough space here for an answer.
You cannot fly directly to the Grand Canyon. You must choose between the cities of Flagstaff, Arizona; Phoenix, Arizona; or Las Vegas, Nevada. Las vegas would have the best airfare, and cheapest rental vehicle.
The Grand Canyon has been excavated by the Colorado River, about 17 million years ago.
40 ft deep
The Grand Canyon is deep enough to stack 3 empire state buildings inside of it. At its widest, the Grand Canyon is 18 miles wide and could fit the entire island of Manhatten in that space.
if u dropped him in the canyon..no. if u dropped him beside the canyon..yes
From flagstaff where you will find the most affordable stays you will probably need 90 mins one one way.
can drive to beautiful views
Was there just last week, it is 35 per car.
Lol it is very very far away let's just put it that way
More than possible
Free with golden access card and when you are in the bus is free
Buy the annual card for 80$ and you can pass every Nationalpark you want with one Car and up to four People
I do understand why they go it was beautiful!
You can use Google Maps to get your location and then hit go and set destination as Grand Canyon visitors center. This should give you an accurate distance on the shortest possible route. Also, it is $35 for a 7 day pass to enter the park. According to Google Maps, if the Waconia your talking about is in Minnesota, then your looking at about a 24 hour drive non stop or 1421 miles.
Unless you are a Creationist, then 10,000 yrs ago......
The seven-day $35/vehicle also gives you unlimited use of the in-park shuttle buses; i.e. you can home from A to B and then get a ride back.
I'm in Phoenix and I'd say about 6-7 am is the best time
If you can navigate online, go for it, but there's nothing like the personal touch.
Bro lakhs of people come here to visit is is something about impossible to found your pants
Flagstaff has a small airport, and is about an hour drive to the Grand Canyon. From Phoenix airport, it would be about a 2-3 hour drive. The Grand Canyon has a tiny airport, but I'm not sure if it's used just for helicopter rides around the canyon itself.
Sorry but that is such a stupid question. It's weather, anything from freezing snow all the way to boiling sun with rain in-between.......
Maps work great... You should try using one. It's actually in North Central and Northwestern Arizona.
Google it, it's pretty good with that kind of info.
A private vehicle 1-7 days $ 35. To take a couple of photos and leave 10 - 15 minutes. But you will miss all the other view lookouts , displays, gift shops , museums, an 8 minutes of a video, and a movie about the Grand Canyon. We spent 7 hours at the Grand Canyon 2 visitor centers the rest walking and taking over 300 photos. We have 5 day plan. They have a nice bus service that runs to different view points. The buildings close at 5 PM. We rode the bus back to the main visitor center to our vehicle was parked after 5 PM not sure when they stop running. The park is open 24 hours. We have planned a sunrise and sunset viewing. The Grand Canyon is so massive and awesome a person could spend a lifetime seeing sites and still not take it all in. Enjoy your trip. The awesomeness never ends at the Grand Canyon.
It's on the west rim but it's pricey and not worth the view
Not a clue we drove but vegas has tours available
Bright Angel, and Mather are great, but there are no bad views, all is incredibly beautiful.
The visitors center would have that information.
Not Sure about Camping pass. But yes to a regular week pass
The cost to enter the park is $30 per vehicle. If you are going to several National Parks, then it is very advantageous to purchase a pass. There are 59 national parks and they are $30-35 to enter. The annual pass is currently $80 and can be purchased when you pay at the park entrance.
I'd say it varies from purple to orange to red and yellow. Depending on the clouds situation the colors might get different in the colors may change contrast and intensity.
The first Europeans discovered it in 1540, but the Pueblo People lived in the area starting around 4,000 years ago
It took us 5-6 hrs to get there from Tucson. We went to the east entrance cause the south was incredibly busy. Enjoy!
Was not able to do that from my location. But better to do on horseback.
Yes
You can't actually rent anything of the sort...people rent motorcycles from a near by town ...you can take tours if u prefer to.. Drive your vehicle around and stop at the different viewing areas...35.00 per vehicle to enter the park...some discounts for Seniors...vets..ECT...
South Rim is always open. The North entrance station is open 24 hours but the Park's Visitor Center and other facilities are open 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. during the peak months of May-September and off-peak of October-April from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
I don't recommend helicopters. Try to rent a car in Flagstaff or Phoenix and drive there. You need to do some wak around to feel the beauty. At least one day❤️💕♥️
You'll have to call.
1,600 meters deep
I think that is better they campground for trailer.
Good luck, that's a biblical sized task!
I don't think it was, the canyon was formed mostly by water and erosion I think.
Or $80 for a 1year pass to EVERY National Park in the US.
the park entrance fee is $35 per vehicle or $30 per motorcycle, for a seven day pass. An annual park pass cost $70.
I don't know but I think yes
You can use your pass with your ID with any car. I used it with a rental car
Are you kidding? Check with Google maps!
1,347 miles. It'll be approximately 20 hrs.
Yes - they have tour buses that are owned by private companies (extra charge) and a shuttle bus run by the NPS (no charge). The private tours range from all terrain vehicles to horseback to bus to helicopter. The shuttle run by the NPS is just a bus that goes from stop to stop allowing the tourist to relax and not have to worry about all the driving.
Not sure. But i think you can
English please
No.
Yes unless you do the sky view. That's 75.00 with two other stops
North West AZ ,near flagstaff .better to take help of travelling agent or Google.
Yes, there are a fleet of GC Buses that transport to all the sites, and cover all the parking lot even in town. There other tour groups in town.
It is in North America. Entry fees is USD 35 valid for 7 days from date of purchase.

I haven't a clue
The Grand Canyon is a big hole in the ground that took millions of years to produce. And it is a bucket list check off and a must see it is spectacular
Hello! What kinds have from me? I come from Germany.
$20 per year or $80 for life.
I believe there is tent camping that needs a reservation and another that doesn't, check out this link- https://www.nps.gov/grca/planyourvisit/camping.htm
I think the earliest bus is at 5:30 AM. The last bus I think is 1 hour past sunset (at least that's what I remember)
No need to be afraid of them squirrels. They're more afraid of us and won't get close unless you try feeding them.
You don't need a senior pass
$35 for a vehicle, $30 for a motorcycle and $20 for a individual(coming on foot, bicycle, park shuttle bus or Grand Canyon Railway)
Same here. It's near LAS Vegas, says it all
It's not understood
No volcano. It's beautiful and safe.
Not till May 15.
Children are free. You pay per car
no
Senior pass used to be free , now it is 80 $ but still cheap compared to entry fees. You can exchange it for the new pass but get it changed before you leave on your trip so there is no problems with it
You certainly can. The National Park Service runs the facility. Find out more about working for them at https://www.nps.gov/aboutus/workwithus.htm. Many of the facilities at the Grand Canyon and other parks are run by Xanterra. Check out https://www.xanterra.com/careers/.
Go go go. Haters gonna hate
There are not as many crowds from sunrise to about 9am. So if you want to take a shuttle, do it then. But don't get too obsessed with seeing all the points. Walk along the trail by the canyon or rent a bike. The more you ride the shuttle, the less you see of the canyon. We found it only worth it taking the shuttle to Hopi point and no further. If you want to hike the trails going into the canyon, you may want 2 or 3 days. And make sure you are equipped for it.
Head to the Kaibab trailhead on the South Rim and that will take you all the way to the bottom of the canyon to Phantom Ranch. Plan accordingly as it is a hike of several hours and requires an entire day if you plan to hike all the way down and back up.
Park is open all day. Office opens around 7 am
When I went it was so much per car. Not sure what it is now. That was back in 2017. Worth every dollar you spend. It's amazing
The cold no problem. I m not speak english
One of the awesome wonders of this world that a creator made. GOD
The South Rim is open 24 hours a day, 365 days of the year including holidays. The entrance station is open 24 hours but the Park's Visitor Center and other facilities are open 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. during the peak months of May-September and off-peak of October-April from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The North Rim is closed but re-opens May 15th and remains open until Oct 15th
You should be fine. They have RV parking that you wont need to back out of.
Weather was really nice but as we were leaving today it was snowing. Things clear out quick though. They had record snow 2/28 we arrived 3/2 and all roads were clear. The snow on the cliffs was beautiful
There were four of us in a car and we paid $ 30
BASE jump to get down, don't forget your chute. Hot air balloon to return to the top.
Subject: Grad Canyon! Well, several decades ago he looked like his original form. But through some barrages where the Colorado River passes, the canyon has been pretty much spoiled. Kind regards Wolfgang Karl Wieser Vienna
You only HAVE to pay admission... The lodge at North Rim is spectacular! They have rooms/cabins to rent. Restaurant is there as well. It's beautiful there!!
It is very accessible to all people. You will enjoy it as much as anyone else in your party!
It is a wonderful park and very nice and worth a visit
The south rim has handicap entrance, but most of it was added a long time ago so don't expect perfection.
Cheapest way is southwest flight to Las Vegas. Rent car, Check cheap hotels websites for room near Las Vegas not on the Strip. drive to South rim next day. Ask for mule ride down to Indian Gardens. They are always booked full but there is still a good chance they have openings when you are standing there. https://theculturetrip.com/north-america/usa/articles/amazing-train-trip-across-entire-us-will-cost-213/
35 USD. Wait for Nancy to shut down the govt again and go for free
Yes, there is something laws, Trinidad Haro.Grand Canyon have all what traveling can give for tourist.Thank you and good luck on your travels.
I was there Saturday, and the roads are clear. Do exercise caution on the rim trail!
Der Colorado
Yes I do ,I have two Staffordshire Bull Terriers.! Bit puzzled why this has a heading of "Question about Grand Canyon National Park "??
Ask the staff at the gift shop for a map. Schedules and routes are limited at this time.
In? There a primitive site at the bottom. You will need a backcountry permit. 7 mile hike in, 7 out with something like 4000 vertical feet in elevation change. On the rim? There are some nice lodges on the south rim in the park with restaurants and bus service.
Thanks for the update
35 to get in. And anyone can get in
Visitor center is closed during the shutdown but the park is open and buses are running.
It is good for one vehicle
You could place every type of dinosaur known to man, from the biggest to the smallest, down in the very bottom of the canyon and you standing at the very top, and you might, if you got lucky with a pair of binoculars, see one. If you saw the biggest one we know of, it might look about the size of a squirrel. Maybe even smaller, like a mouse.
Refer to Michaels answer it is a good one. Along with the Flood waters.
It's called the America the beautiful annual pass, and it is valid in every national park. And is $80 for a year and is good for 1 carload of people

Here's what I found on the internet. Good luck and enjoy: Grand Canyon Rock Climbing. Although most of the Grand Canyon is unfit for rock climbing because of the soft chaucey rock, there are several established sport and trade climbing areas in the Park, as well as some bouldering. Most of the established routes are in the Area are around Grand Canyon Village.
Hi, you can stay at the south rim. There are some hotels very close / direct with view at canyon . The north rim has not the variety of hotels as the south rim does. If you want to stay at a moderate price you should choose the Maswik South Lodge. The price was about 130 Dollars per night in July / August. It is a 5 min walk to the rim with the great view over the incredible canyon an the best starting point to Hermits Rest with the free bus tour and the best photo spots of the world... The South Maswik lodge is cheaper than the Maswik North Lodge because there is not A/C in the rooms. The rooms fits up to 5 People with additional rollaway bed. All other hotels are much expensiver like the El Tovar witch a directly or a little bit closer at the rim. In my opinion it's not worth the price of over 200-300 bucks per night. The Maswik South with its wooden Charme look absolutely great. ->somwhere in the Grand Canyon Village ist the best place stay - but be aware - early booking!! Gr
They are paved and in great condition to travel on.
If by "campers" you mean recreational vehicles, the answer is yes. You are limited to certain sites and you should get a reservation before the trip.
Take a walk through a trail... The best way to enjoy the Grand Canyon. I think.
The Grand Hotel in Tusayan was great for my stay last week. Reasonable prices right now since it's the offseason.
All kinds.
I'm not on USA
