You can visit most of the park year round
Go to: https://www.nps.gov/grca/index.htm to answer your questions.
You can visit the South Rim and West Rim year round the North Rim closes the road to there starting around November or December.
Take note of the Fucking great hole!!! Don't fall in.
Beware I was there in December and it's colder than you might expect, snow and all!!! Not the best time of year to enjoy a hike.
If there is a bad storm you cannot drive without chains...plowing is not very good at all
Its definitely less busy during the winter. Park service doesn't plow very well after snow falls.
Visiting the Grand Canyon in the winter is great. Crowds are less and snow in the canyon is beautiful on the red rocks. I hiked to Phantom Ranch in both January and February. The trails and paths can be icy so be prepared. Because of the elevation the top can be chilly. Jacket, hat, gloves very helpful.
Yeah, i think you can go there in the winter.. I am not really sure. better check it out.
Yes the southern edge
We had snow last weekend, but didn't need chains. Just drive slow, and be aware of ice.
Yes you can visit
