Breath taking. Hike a bit to get away from crowds.
The kids, my wife and I really enjoyed it. We did a package tour through AAA and took the train from Williams to the Grand Canyon. We stayed an extra night and took the shuttle along the South rim. If you have a little extra time, at least start the Bright Angel trail so you begin to experience the Grand Canyon from the inside!
Pictures dont do it justice. You have to see it in person
We just went a week ago, the beginning of October. It wasn't horribly crowded. It was truly one of the most beautiful places I have ever been to and look forward to returning next year with my husband and our 6 children. I was there this time with my mom and 2 oldest son's, it was just truly amazing.
It's really beautiful and it's big
Absolutely unbelievably beautiful
Last time I was there I was ten and you looked at the the view and only had donkey rides looks and sounds like I need to do it again.......change is good
A bit over commercialized not bad overall. Long hikes to go in anywhere if significance but can see most of the canyon from rim trail if chosen but it is packed with tourists and could only be associated with the term adventure through the context of the area.
It's a canyon for as far as you can see. It can be cool, and it can be hot.
Absolutely beautiful. When you are there, you will get a sense of the enormity of the gorge.

Is the grand canyon a desert? I have searched on the web but can't find my answer anywhere.
