Very informative stop and filled with some fun exhibits. I particularly enjoyed that they had signs instructing you what to do based on your time available. It was very helpful based on not knowing how long everything would take. Definitely make this your first stop of the trip through the Grand Canyon.

First time getting to Grand Canyon, South Rim. I've seen many photos of course but it is really amazing in person!! I used my upright walker. There were plenty of handicap parking spots at Lizard Lot 4, right by a bicycle rental & restrooms. I got in a good couple of hours driving the park & walking the rim...low 90°'s...busy but not crowded.

Good place for visitor information. Unfortunately, yesterday 03-05-2022 it was closed for staff training. What they should regularize in this national park and perhaps eradicate is that a private company provides the service of lowering tourists on mules from the top to the bottom of the canyon. First there are signs to let the mules pass first, the owners of the road are believed and it is a public space that we all maintain with the payment of our federal taxes. Secondly for animal abuse, definitely that service should be communicated to animal protection entities and be permanently closed.

The line to get into the park was insane. Pack some snacks and have lots of patience. Truly the most beautiful place I've ever visited. One of my top 5 bucket list places to visit. It almost looked fake. You could see the shadows of the clouds rolling through the canyon as they moved and suddenly you realize it's so real. A must visit place! You will be blown away. There are only railings/brick walls in designated areas. Some areas along the edge are a straight drop down while other areas have some rock you can walk out on. If you're coming with little kids I'd recommend the designated safety areas. We saw lots of elk and deer mule which was pretty cool. A very well maintained national park.

Yes as far as I know
Visitor center has car parking available with no cost. The only charges you need to pay is when you enter the Grand Canyon national park.
Comfortable walking shoes if you are on the Rim trail, and sturdy hiking boots if you got one of the canyon trails. Kids can go on the Rim trail anytime. It is paved an mostly flat with great views
I am Not very sure but Please research the hikes beforehand. Apparently, all are pretty steep and climbing back up takes almost thrice as long as to get down.
Once in the park, the trails are all free for foot hiking. If you choose to ride the donkeys/mules there is a cost. There is also a bus system in the park it too is also free
I think it says on the sign that all fire arms must be empty
The ladies at the information center in the village are knowledgeable and have very good maps too, they guided me how to get to Zion, UT.There is also a Tourists Information Center In Tusayan ( right next to Texaco gas station). He is much more informed and has good knowledge of the area. They will be able to guide you regarding the local transport and how you can get to Antelope canyon. I was driving myself hence did not look much in to the local transport.
We were just there this past Saturday and my husband and I both thought, "wow this would be a great backdrop for a wedding". I don't know of the rules but I would call the visitor center and ask. I imagine you could do it, just would have a lot of onlookers. It's $35.00 a vehicle to get in.
Only if you get permission from park by producing a disabled plate or plaque.
You can hike or take a donkey. You must check in with the park rangers for a pass. If you go by donkey the animal takes the inside part of the trail when passing leaving you on the outside & the trail is scary narrow.
Didn't see that when I was there..
I would think so because you pay one fee for car no matter how many people are in the car.
There is a ton of spots for tour buses and RVs at several of the south Rim parking lots.
Yep but I don't think they can go on the tram thing so you will have to walk everywhere but as long as you're ok with that you should be good to go.
Depends where you go and what you do. I believe the south rim is free to visit.
The park is open 24 hours whether facilities or businesses are open is their call. We were there & other parks driving around when the visitor's are closed, the other question is whether the shuttle is running, those hours are posted on the NPS website
You can still get into the park. The visitor center is closed but the park is still open.
I heard the south rim is open 24/7 365. And is not affected by the shutdown.
No, it is currently against the rules to fly drones within any national park service site, including Grand Canyon.
If it is good canyon you have to go down to see the river and know its history that is inside
Yes they have multiple and plenty parking spots, they have 3 big parking locations close by and a bigger extension accessible by free shuttle bus pick up and drop.
South Rim is open 24x7x365. This is the address you referenced.
Book it online
Yes, they do but check the website. I think some parks don't start in April.
Check their website as they give alerts and will have a link for weather
Check with the parks board information.
There are many camping areas around the park but none at the visitors center.
YES it's open, some mask restrictions, limited shuttle services and some limited hour changes in restaurants etc.
The best way to see antelope canyon is by kayak.
