Luke, The weather in this place is close to that of a desert. The roadways are all good, but mostly single laned routes. If you are driving there, I recommend you take with you enough water and snacks to munch on your drive. You will not find any rest areas enroute Grand Canyon West. This is where the the Sky Walk is located. However, after reaching there, you have a decent place to eat food and shop for souvenirs. Hope this helps.
You will need to be prepared for temperature ranges between 50 degrees and 85 degrees...depending on if you are in upper or lower canyon and time of the day
From the National Park service website : The entire park area is considered to be semi-arid desert, but distinct habitats are located at different elevations along the 8,000 foot elevation gradient.
