can drive to beautiful views
There are many places to park along the south rim after you pay to come into the Grand Canyon National park. A lot of the trails are user friendly.
You can drive along the south rim with several places to park near the great views. I recommend that you drive to the visitor center parking lot and take a very short walk to Mather point first. These are clearly marked and are also handicap accessible. When you arrive at the park entrance you will be provided with maps and information. Have a great visit!
At the southern point, we parked our car and walked about a quarter mile to see 5 different viewing areas. There are buses that take you to other points. We didnt do that.
Some view points available only with local shuttle bus.
