Crowded and people don't pull to the right so you can get around. The road was made for slow people to move right so it would flow. They should start a bus system like Zion.

Beautiful place right next to the city of Las Vegas. It’s crazy that a gem in literally 5-10 minutes “outside” of the city. Feels like it’s in my backyard. It’s like a mini sedona but with it’s own character!
Soghomon
An amazing place to visit just on the doorstep of magical Las Vegas. Rent a gas guzzler for the day and head out in pristine nature.

So so good

It's a outdoor area, so the only place for your luggage is in your car. The Google photos make it seem like a hotel as well, but the nearest hotel is 25 mins away
$17 to drive around to entrance, but there were some people walking and jogging for free.
20 minutes
You can drive the entire loop for a small fee
Yes we were their last week and saw people flying drones and they even have a airport for remote airplane s
It depends on if you're going to the north or south rim... The north side of the canyon is closer... About 3 hrs if you take your time. 🏜️
Many hiking trails and a variety of distances for novice to experienced
Yes, you can. They accept credit cards or cash.
Not all are in the paid parking. First Creak Canyon is past the paid area. It's about a 4 mile hike to a small flowing stream at the end of the hike
Yes!
I wouldn't see why not. The scenic road is a large one way road. Wide enough for two cars even though it is one lane.
Bring Gatoraide with Electrolites!! You can end up every sick/death from water toxicity (drinking too much water)
Yes dogs are allowed at Red Rock Canyon but I highly suggest you are are ubered in because it's much easier there's hardly any parking
Try wetlands park.. there is a lake also but I'm not sure if you can go swimming
You do not need a guide. Very beautiful place. We so enjoyed it.
Down the road there's an observation area that you might be able to go to. There's a parking lot there that might fit
Yes. Red Rock Canyon is approximately 20 miles from the Las Vegas Strip and yes you can camp there
It loops around by car and there are places to park along the 13 miles of the road. Plus lots of hiking trails and places bvb to climb.
A very scenic drive, makes you want to get out and explore!
It is $15. I was just there. Not collected while the partial shutdown is in effect.
The park is still open despite the government shutdown, though there was no one there to collect the entrance fee.
Yes, as long as you do not disturb the wildlife. Here is the complete answer from their website https://www.redrockcanyonlv.org/frequently-asked-questions : Yes, visitors can fly drones for recreational purposes at Red Rock Canyon. Please do not disturb wildlife or visitors while flying your drone. Visitors are prohibited from launching and landing drones and other unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) in Red Rock Canyon's Wilderness Areas (La Madre Mountain Wilderness Area & Rainbow Mountain Wilderness Area). The Las Vegas Soaring Club also has flying space nearby. To find out more information, please visit www.lvsoaringclub.org
Yes, you are correct
Charges per car or per person... But a MUST do scenic place.
They will return your call if you are making a reservation. 8f your just visiting, just drive in.
You should get good signal on most of the scenic drive, and ok signal on thefront ends of some hikes. You'll lose signal the deeper you hike into side canyons
No. Trump said the national parks will be open. However, not completely staffed if you need help.
Over thousands and thousands of years, different layers of sandstone were deposited. Some of those layers in the park have iron "impurities" that turn the normally tan sandstone red when it is exposed to the atmosphere through a process called oxidation. It's the same chemical process that causes iron to rust.
There is free areas to park and hike, but if you want to go into the actual National Park then you do have to pay a small fee per car.
There is a camping grounds just down the road. You would need reservation.
I don't know or haven't heard anything of this.... however, I would not desire to visit their homes. Enjoyed the beautiful scenery of God's Creations 🙌
Red rock canyon is 18 mi west of the strip. You can either take Charleston blvd all the way from the strip, with many traffic lights. Charleston interesects the strip about 4 blocks N of Sahara or you can take I15 S to I215 west all the way to Charleston blvd exit. The freeway is probably fastest. There might be other ways as well. Red Rock is fun especially in winter months.
Need a national park pass or to pay to a access park. Reservation Depends on the time of year. Check their website.
If you know the right people, you can have anything you want but I don't think there's a partnership of any kind between Planet Hollywood and Red Rock. It is at least 30-45 minutes drive depending on which area you wanted to go.
Spring or fall, but as long as you don't go in the summer you should be fine. Summer anywhere around Las Vegas means “dont go outside!!" To us locals.
Negative. And if you are a veteran it's free. Dogs are allowed too just keep em on a leash.
Nope. Motorized and mechanical vehicles aren't permitted.
Yes you do if you want to do the one-way circle route. And if you drop domeone off and come back later to pick them up, you will need another reservation. And don't be late!
Yes. You will likely need a reservation to enter.
No, if you buy the pass, it should be effective immediately and covers admission. This is a nice time of year to visit because the cacti are probably still in bloom.
I googled it and it says entrance fee at the gate. Passes can be purchased online at a discount. That’s all I could find out. If ur military or x military or retired it’s free. All parks offer free entrance for vets
It is better to have a timed entry reservation, if it is busy you may not be able to get in without one. There are a few places that are not on the scenic drive you can visit anytime.
Yes 😊. There is a lot of parking areas and different spots for taking pictures.
Yes you can return back the way you came.
Yes inquire on the website
It also depends. If you made reservation but you are early - if hour you showed up is getting till the end you migh squeeze in ;)
Public and it's safe
I'll add reservations are now required.
Yes
This is a conservative park. You are not allow to take anything out from the park except your own trash 🤣.
Go early. If you arrive before 8am, you don't need a reservation. However, you still need to pay for the entry fee per car unless you have a valid park pass or Nation park membership.
The loop is a road. If you Uber to a trailhead you'll have to Uber out and service is spotty at best. There's no shuttle.
Yes it does. Bring extra water though!
There are no food places within the Red Rock Canyons,, but taking Charleston street out of the canyons will lead you to food places within minutes of leaving.
They offer 2 deals $129 breakfast ride and $159 dinner ride. Make reservations online and right across from Red Rock. It's an amazing and educational trail ride. A must. The breakfast ride is about an hour and a half. They stop and take photo's of you riding.
Day Use Areas means land, premises and facilities, designed to be used by members of the public, for a fee or otherwise, for outdoor recreation purposes on a daily basis. Day use areas include uses and facilities such as parks, playgrounds, picnic sites, tennis courts, beaches, marinas, athletic fields, and golf courses. Hope this helps!!!!
Not sure it's been awhile since I've been there also sorry I can't remember
You drive through in less than 30 minutes if traffic is light.
Yes I live in Enterprise area over by Saint Rose in Las Vegas Boulevard I take Blue Diamond all the way up
Yes to credit cards and a souvenir shop
You should use GPS and start from one point to the other and it will tell you exactly
Yes online costs 17 bucks to enter for a vehicle.
It's beautiful area and most of the homes up there are new 😍👍
The campground is in an area separate from the canyon itself and I do not believe there are hook ups. Try this website for additional information. Red Rock Canyon Campground, Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area - Recreation.gov https://www.recreation.gov/camping/campgrounds/250877
What does a trail need in order to be considered a backpacking trail?
I saw one by the HQ once you enter park the ladies or gents at the gate will be able to tell you. I know there is one (a bigger one ) on the trail just not sure where. I happen to see the one by HQ bc we stoped to ask some questions. By time we were out walking and looking it started to snow on us .... such an amazing time we had there
If it is a small RV yes. Otherwise not a lot of parking
Red rock canyon IS a great place, but def check out Mt. Charleston
June, July, and August are scorching. I repeat, it is scorching. I would suggest early May if it's possible. Around Mother's Day. The weather is beautiful that time of year. No restaurants. I'm not sure about catering. It's a scenic loop with an entry fee. There are pull off spots along the loop to park, get out and hike, or just enjoy the views. Just nearby, between the entrance and exit of the national park, off of the highway so there is no entrence fees, is a viewing area with parking called "Red Rock Overlook" ... It's very beautiful and gives views of the entire area. Easy access. I'd totally suggest looking into that area.
Yes, Red Rock Conservation Area opened to the public on May 27th according to the official web site. The hours are 8am to 5pm seven days a week.
Tickets are $15 per car and sold at entrance. No idea where you are but its all the way west on Charleston past the 215 until you reach the 13 mile drive in the park.
You can if you get permission and have proper licensing for it. Check before you do or you could have your drone confiscated and get a fine.
Charcoal grill, or hey it's Death Valley just cook something on a hot rock
Don't Uber or Lyft! You might not have signal to get a ride back!
yes you can ride, in the fire rock canyon in any case, in the red rock there is also a horse ranch outside where you can rent horses or get guided tours.
No
Yes. It was 15$ per car when I went there.
No. The trails are foot traffic only.
Admission stops at 5 but you can explore the park well beyond that
Red Rock canyon hotel has a shuttle you can take from the mall. No snow unless there is a freak storm.
Yes. They prefer cash as it's much faster for them to process. Credit cards tend to create a long line of cars waiting to get in. The America the Beautiful purchase transaction can take a little longer than just regular pay-to-enter because you have to sign some paperwork.
Absolutely. There is ample parking at the Visitors Center. Additionally there are numerous sites along the drive for viewing and hiking with parking.
You can easily see the pollution from Vegas. There is a dark sky paradise 3 hours north of the city.
Hi!! I think they close the parking lot gate at night, but I guess you can park your vehicle on the road.
There no specific rules against it but that's a unique question you would probably want to ask one who works there to confirm such
$15 per car or $8 per person.
They stop letting people in around then. As long as you are out of park by dark you will be ok. The park staff hands out tickets around then.
From opening to closing it's happy hour at Red Rock!!!! And happy second hour and third hour and fourth hour....
Entry into the conservation area is $15 pier vehicle. If you have rage MIL pass its free. there are trails open there.
It's red. But seriously, it's an amazing drive, with many opportunities to park and hike, bike, or just take in the scenery.
Or the question like that you need to contact the park itself I suggest you go if you can't find it on the phone on the internet with a phone number evening and I need to drive out there and talk to a ranger
They are now charging the regular visitors fee
I used to eat at the Bonnie Springs ranch restaurant over looking the man made duck pond. Call Bonnie Springs and they used to have a hotel out there as well as a country western town with a real live hanging..
Yes, the loop around provides numerous stops and photo opps for this type of shot/view.
The loop is 13 miles. How long it takes will depend on how many times you stop.
Temperatures for us were anywhere from the 40s to the 60s. What I want prepared for was the rain we got. Very windy rain. Not what I usually associate with the desert.
Yes. Just do a search for Red Rock Canyon weather.
Scenic drive is open. Visitor center is closed
Yes you can still drive around Scenic Loop Dr and use the parking lots along the way during day time.
Yes
The loop is a two lane one way with a speed limit usually at 35 mph. There are parking areas for larger vehicles such as buses. I hope you have a great time, Terri.
We were dropped off by uber and hiked down in the canyon. We were there about 5 hours and id recommend going by foot instead of hanging out inside a car it just sounds lame. It took uber about 10 minutes to get there to pick us up.
Rocky gap road. Its just pass mile marker 7 to the right. Pass the discovery trail. The road used to go all the way through to Lovell canyon, but i think some years ago there was a storm that caused massive debri build up that made it impassable to full size vehicles. Maybe quads and dirt bikes can snake through. Not sure myself if it has been cleard since.
No toll roads only in state parks
There is a tour jeep called pink that will take you
Yes you will be able to get a Uber to pick you up and take you back to the strip. Just make sure you have cell signal. I have Tmobile and had no problem with signal out there.
The 13 mile scenic drive is perfectly paved road. Parking lots are fine too.
Early am or sunset, agreed.
If you hike to almost the end of icebox and take an immediate left there are multiple pools and a waterfall, not sure if it's there all the time but I definitely saw a small waterfall and multiple crystal clear pools. Hike over and through all the massive boulders to the left at icebox and there is an oasis
Its a fair distance from the strip. Lots of traffic for the first bit. If you are in good cycling shape then probably ok early in the day. If you're a weekend warrior...probably better to drive and get out and walk at the pullouts.
We rented a car and drove straight there from the Tropicana and it was only about 25 minutes.
Yes there are some areas designated specialy for horse trailer parking the bad news is that you can ride you horse just anywhere, please for more information about this please call The BLM Rangers or better yet visit the fish Gaming & Wild life office at Decatur & Vegas Drive
No. Not that kind of place. Wouldnt bring a grill to this natural marvel
Wow, these guides are right on! 20-30 minutes depending on traffic. Bring your National Park pass if you have one.
Yeah, but not readily. It's a desert so there's always going to be animals. You'll mostly see lizards.
The park is currently open from 6am-8pm. Climbing passes are required. I remember there are specific rules if it rains then climbing is not allowed. To hike the trails only requires a daily pass.
I rent a car when i go, but Uber or Lyft should be able to get you there. They might only be able to drop you off at the gate tho, which is a good distance from where the trails begin. Leaving might be a bit difficult because i think there's only one way in and one way out. You might have to go back through the front gate, if that's even possible, for them to pick you up.
They prefer cash but you can pay with a card.
If you continue out 159 you will see Bonnie springs ranch. They have a really cool old Western town and restaurant. Riding stable with ponies. I t is about 4 miles up the road from the canyon visitors center. You will love it.
Yes, just make sure to bring 7 dollars cash, it's so much faster...if u use a card youll have an enemy..lol..
. The presence of iron oxide or hematite and exposure to the elements causes the rock to turn its distinctive red color.
Everyday. But there is a limit when the park reaches maximum auto capacity. They close when there are too many cars. Get there early especially during holiday weekends.
Yes you can. The entrance fee is $7.
I bet you regret dropping out of school.
The welcome center is pretty safe. Red Rock also has hiking trails for kids.
Yes at the visitor centres, however at the lookouts they are not nice at all,so cross your legs until you get to the visitor centre 😮
According to their website, The Scenic Drive is open their normal hours on New Year's Eve and New Year's Day. 6am to 5pm in the winter. That means you can also hike, bicycle, and climb during those hours. The visitor center is open from 8:00 to 4:30.
This is from the website: On Thanksgiving Day (Thursday, November 23), the Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area Scenic Drive will be open with reduced hours from 6AM to 12PM. The Visitor Center will close early as well and will be open from 8AM to 12PM.
6324' at the summit. Trailhead starts at just under 2k'
