Red rock canyon is 18 mi west of the strip. You can either take Charleston blvd all the way from the strip, with many traffic lights. Charleston interesects the strip about 4 blocks N of Sahara or you can take I15 S to I215 west all the way to Charleston blvd exit. The freeway is probably fastest. There might be other ways as well. Red Rock is fun especially in winter months.
It's approximate is approximately 20 miles from the strip the best way is just to go straight up the Charleston Boulevard West and you'll it'll take you right to it it'll take you probably 45 minutes to get there but it'll be well worth the visit

Depends on where you're at on Las Vegas Blvd. If you're south get on 215 west get off on Charleston go west and 2 to 3 miles you'll be in Red Rock. From Henderson its about 16 miles taking 215..
