If you continue out 159 you will see Bonnie springs ranch. They have a really cool old Western town and restaurant. Riding stable with ponies. I t is about 4 miles up the road from the canyon visitors center. You will love it.
It is open as long as the park is open. There is no tour, you just go and walk around. Sometimes the trails in that area can be hard to follow, but you are always in site of the lot and won't get lost. Some petroglyphs near there on the wall.
The webpage says "self guided" to me that means it's open the same hours as the park. "This self-guided interpretive trail introduces kids of all ages to the many different features of the Mojave Desert at Red Rock Canyon, including petroglyphs, lessons of desert life, towering views, and a hidden seasonal waterfall (December-April) in the canyon."
