There is a camping grounds just down the road. You would need reservation.
CAMPING Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area has one developed campground. Opened in 1998 to replace the Old Oak Creek Campground, formerly known as the 13-Mile Campground. The Red Rock Canyon Campground is located two miles east of the visitor center on W. Charleston Blvd (State Route 159), one mile south on Moenkopi Road from the junction with W. Charleston Blvd.
This is exactly the kind of place where I would expect scorpions and snakes to be an issue.
No camping allowed
Not a camping area
Yes there is. Death is imminent!!
There is a campground off to the left as soon as you go into the canyon I believe is $15 a night for tent space
There are snakes and scorpions. Be careful camping, if that is an option.
I don't think so. There is definitely wild life out there. There's signs out there reminding people. There's wild horses, donkeys, chipmunks, ect. I've seen a couple of chipmunks that I've taken pictures of and posted. But there's definitely wildlife there. But it's a beautiful, amazing place to visit. But I'm not really sure about camping. I've only visited 2 tunes.
There are areas you can camp an no one will bother you. Yes there are snakes and though I've never seen scorpions there I'm sure their out there as well as spiders in some areas. But they are not a major issue.
Reservations are needed. We were told that "if" you don't disturb them you may not have a problem. This applied to snakes. However, we did see signs in certain areas.
Red Rock Canyon is a great place for a day hike, I don't remember campgrounds. The visitor center has wonderful displays.
