There is free areas to park and hike, but if you want to go into the actual National Park then you do have to pay a small fee per car.

This "park" is operated by the Bureau of Land Management and requires a $7 per car entrance fee. The facilities are all brand new and truly Amazing! Worth the price.

The official national park has a small fee but is free if you have a national park membership card. Calico basin has free access for hiking and picnic tables.
