Big improvement over last year! I went there to purchase tags for my dogs. Had to wait about 20 minutes, but the woman who helped my was very nice!
Thanks! Your review is awaiting moderation.
How do I get info on Husky on your photo section?
I called several times and got answered. Check the dept you are calling, maybe choose different dept then get transferred
Yes, please visit our website for more information at www.broward.org/animal. We hope to see you soon!
If they are ok they put then back on the streets like they did with the cat that my uncle found!
Yes you can. It's an incredible experience for the pets to have a "home". The shelter helps with supplies. And you never know, you can find your unexpected furry love
Take the 🐈 to the shelter if your uninterested in keeping him. Give someone else a chance to adopt him where more people can see him besides the few who saw this question
Thank you for writing. Broward County Animal Care does not provide veterinary services to owned pets. Your pet needs to be seen by a veterinarian as soon as possible. Please contact some local vets in your area for pricing and make an appointment with one of them as soon as you can.
Yes all donations are greatly appreciated.
You can go to the web site and look at adopting one or two
My kittens were and they even gave me a recommendation for a place to keep my pets healthy and clean... thanks a million
Tried SNIP for voucher daily for weeks. Not available every time. 😢

No, we are happy to say that you do not need to be a Broward County resident to adopt. Simply stop by our Adoption Center and select a pet. At the time of adoption, we do require a valid photo ID, such as a Driver's License. We are located 2400 SW 42nd Street in Fort Lauderdale. The Center is open Tuesday through Sunday from 11AM to 6PM.
Broward County Animal Care is a government agency. We are not a non-profit.
Hi! No, we do not take rabbits--only dogs and cats. The Humane Society of Broward County on Griffin Road does.
Yes if u tell them they would leave them together they want be separated
No, we do not transport our pets. You would have to make arrangements to adopt the pet and provide transportation to St. Augustine.
Your information has been forwarded to staff for response. Thank you!

You can trap them and get them fixed for free through our spay/neuter program. Please visit our website at www.broward.org/animal. Look under our spay/neuter tab for more information.
Nothing only need to fill up some paperwork and explain why you want give your dog. And must be a valid driver license with Broward address
A kitten 20 dollars. I got my to cats from there. They put the chip and the register on Broward county. It's a great service you receive for the 20 dollars you pay, and at the end you bring happiness to your life and at the little pet.
It's very easy you just go there and you find a dog they have plenty of dog adults puppies it's the processes very easy just go there
Often, the medical profession suggests that a chemo patient does not interact with animals as the patient's immune system is compromised. Please get permission from your doctor before pursuing adoption of an dog.
They currently still have all fees waived promotion. You will not be charge for the dog and it will have vaccines and microchip. They are also offering a free swag bag with every adoption. If the dog of your choice isn't available the same day due to being in surgery then they will ask for $20 to hold/reserve that pup for you. But there are many available at the shelter to choose for same day adoptions. Good luck.
If your dog has a chip and comes into our shelter, we will contact you provided the chip is registered to a current and valid phone number or address. In the meantime, please check our website at www.broward.org/animal to see if your pet is in our shelter. Or, you are welcome to stop by today. Our address is 2400 SW 42nd Street, in Fort Lauderdale. We are open today from 11AM to 6PM.

Get a couple traps and put food inside them ,cats get hungry preg and they will go inside them ,just make sure you put cat food because natural food like chicken may attract other unwanted animals to wander in the trap
The cost to surrender out of County pet to us is $75 per pet (NOT $25, as previously stated).
Try Colloidal silver
How much does it cost to surrender a pet??
Thank you for writing. Broward County Animal Care only provides rabies vaccinations at our monthly Rabies Clinic events. For other vaccinations please check with the Humane Society of Broward County or some of the vaccination clinics available at Pet Supermarket stores.
Wherever you brought kitten back.
Humane society has best deal. Check website for snip program. My pup was free neuter and shots. Microchip was $20
Take it to the Broward animal care adoption. There they put all their vaccines and the treatment is excellent 👌
There's a lot of stand-alone facilities that would negotiate a price please remember to put earplugs in his ears. You might need a prescription from the doctor so they know what they're scanning for. Since the dog may not be able to have contrast then a 2 to 3 Tesla MRI would be clearer image. Also you'd have to completely knock him out so not to move. The higher the Tesla the louder than noise
They both need love and affection, great companions as long they can take care of their needs..it's a Yes for seniors to adopt!! I never heard a restriction on age, hope so.🤷
Yes
The receptionist at the front when you walk should be able to direct you. There's a lot of volunteers and staff members.
When I was there I saw several people with kittens and they all left with their kittens. Not sure why.
They have the names posted by each one
Visit & choose a cat Fill out adoption form Proof of ID & residents (fpl, utility bill or lease agreement) Donate cash If neutered take home that day. If not wait about 3-5 days than take home. It's easy and you have a life long friend
You need Broward Animal Control
I would guess it depends more on your apartment complex. An apartment is better than the place they are now! Go get that dog! Good luck!
Call the humane society on griffin it's run much better then Broward animal care
Sorry I do not know. My services were done curbside.
Yes. Make an appointment if you can on their website.

No, you enter without an appointment 👍
I don't believe so. You need to find a doggie daycare.
Right away
Pet adoption fees are waived now.I just adopted a black lab they are spay and neutering for free too.Purrfect time to adopt.
You have the extra money I was finding no kill shelter no kills asked for a donation so at least the kid will have a chance Broward County if they cannot find the kitty at home we'll send them over the rainbow so be careful.
I would try to find a no-kill shelter first as in they might actually put your dog over the rainbow if they can't find him somewhere for a new happy home.
Don't know. I don't work there. Check website.
They are located on 42nd street near airport. They are open on Saturdays. I got there when they first opened and had no wait. No appointment needed.

We are happy to say that our adoption fee is waived (there is none). The only time there will be a charge will be if you select a dog or cat who is still under a "hold time"--we are waiting to see if their owner is going to come to claim them. For such pets, there will be a $20 non-refundable deposit taken in order to hold the pet under your name. If the owner does not come forward, you will be able to adopt the pet at no additional cost. All of our adoptions includes spaying/neutering; vaccinations, a Broward County pet license and a microchip.
911 is an EMERGENCY ONLY number. Contact the local police station via the non-emergency number, or the Animal Controls call center.
Need to call ahead of time, cause due to covid it's only by appointments. When you call, ask for other rescue or adoption organizations in the county.
Broward County Animal Care only handles dogs and cats. Thanks for checking.
I hope that is not the case.... I had to take a kitten there and the man told me that it would not be euthanized It would see a vet and then find a foster until adopted
Hi Annette, our programs and services have all switched to an online, virtual format. This includes adoptions, fostering, spay/neuter vouchers and the purchase of a pet license. Please visit our website at www.broward.org/animal for more information. Thanks!
In accordance with County policy and CDC recommendations, Animal Care is offering many of our services virtually. For complete information, please visit our website at: www.broward.org/animal
Yes! There are plenty of dogs available. Please visit our website at www.broward.org/animal for adoption information.
The website usually has all the dogs they have at the shelter and if you call to see if you can visit them it's much better you end up finding the perfect dog
We rarely receive any newborn puppies at our shelter. Most of the dogs are adults. Additionally, a puppy that little would not be available for adoption since it would be too young for adoption.
I hope you can be reunited!
you can check online at petharbor.com
Our adoption fees are waived (there is none).
We do not offer vaccinations at our shelter. Please contact your local veterinary clinic or the Humane Society of Broward County on Griffin Road.
Yes
To adopt a pet, you must have a valid driver's license or photo ID. If you wish to adopt a kitten, we recommend that you visit any Pet Supermarket store located in Broward County. Many of our cats and kittens are transferred to the stores for adoption. The adoption fee for the felines is waived.
No, we do not have any Samoyed dogs.
depends on where you get vaccine. they only do one year tags and they are 25 dollars a year
Please go to our website for a list of available dogs. This list includes pictures. https://www.broward.org/Animal/Adoptions/Pages/Default.aspx
Unsocialized or community cats are spayed/neutered, vaccinated and their ear it "tipped." The tipped ear is the universal sign that a cat is sterilized and belongs to a community. We do notify residents who turn in such a cat that the feline will be sterilized and returned to the neighborhood where they were found.
No, Broward County Animal Care remains closed to the public. Please visit our homepage at www.broward.org/animal for information on how to adopt a pet or access our other services.
My understanding is that he will be there until he finds a new home.
They open at 10am and close at 5...
Yes, you sure can. That will actually be one of the best options
Thank you for your question. If your pet has received a current rabies vaccination, you are welcome to stop by our Adoption Center at 2400 SW 42nd Street, in Fort Lauderdale, to purchase the tag. We are open Tuesday through Sunday from 11AM to 6PM. If your dog or cat does not have a rabies vaccination, you can attend one of our Rabies Clinic events. At the Clinic, your pet will receive a one-year rabies vaccination and the Broward County license. Cost is $25 if your pet is sterilized; and $35 if your pet is not sterilized. Our Rabies Clinic schedule is listed on our website at www.broward.org./animal. Thanks!
Hi! We do occasionally receive Huskies at our Adoption Center. Please check our website at www.broward.org/animal. If you see a Husky listed, please come in right away since this breed is popular and adopted very quickly. Our adoption fees are WAIVED--there is no adoption fee. The $20 referred to below is a deposit and only applies if a pet is still under "hold time." This is the 3-5 day period where we are waiting to see if the pet's owner will come forward to pick him up. Once the hold time is over, the pet is available at no cost.
We do not provide vaccinations for owned pets at our shelter. However, we do host monthly Rabies Clinic events throughout the County each month. At the Rabies Clinics we provide a rabies vaccination, microchip and the County license tag. The cost is $25 if your pet is sterilized; and $35 if your pet is not sterilized. For a complete calendar of our upcoming Rabies Clinic events, please visit our website at www.broward.org/animal.
I believe there is a program for street cats as well. Give them a call and find out more information.
We are sorry that our phone was not answered. During business hours our calls are handled by the County's Call Center. As for your pet license tag, yes, please bring a current copy of your Rabies Certificate with you.
We do not adopt our small kittens who are too young and still need their mother. Such kittens can be fostered until they are old enough for adoption. You are welcome to stop by our Adoption Center at 2400 SW 42nd Street, in Fort Lauderdale. We are open Tuesday through Sunday from 11AM to 6PM.
Thanks for your question. The adoption fee for our dogs and cat is waived (no cost). If an adopter selects a pet who is still waiting to see if his owner will come forward, there is a $20 non-refundable deposit to hold that pet until its "stray time" is over. Otherwise, there is no fee.
A Breeders Permit is required to breed and sell pets in Broward County. For more information please visit our website at: https://www.broward.org/Animal/Resources/Pages/Breeder-Permit.aspx
Thank you for writing. This would be a violation of the noise ordinance for the City of Hollywood. Please contact your Code Enforcement Department to file a complaint.
If you are a Broward County resident, you are welcome to bring the kitten in. We are open Tuesday through Sunday from 11AM to 6PM. We will ascertain the kitty's age and health and place him into our adoption program if he is old enough.
All pets in our care are listed on our website at www.broward.org/animal. If there is no photo or information listed, that means that the pet has just arrived and has not yet been processed. If you think a pet listed might be your lost cat or you are interested in seeing it, then please come to our Adoption Center, 2400 SW 42nd Street, Fort Lauderdale. We are open Tuesday through Sunday from 11AM to 6PM.
You are correct, the SNIP Program is available, but only a certain number of vouchers are issued per day. Once that daily quota is reached, the "not available" message is given. Please keep trying.
Our adoption fees are waived on our dogs and cats that are ready to be adopted and go home. For pets that we have who are waiting for their owner to pick them up, there will be a $20 non-refundable deposit. If the pet is not claimed by the owner after a "waiting period"--usually 3 to 5 days, you will be able to adopt the pet at no additional cost.
Just call the Clinic and they will let you know
The best place to go to find out what animals are available is the website for sure. They updated daily and you see a new pictures of new animals each young and old.
Our save rate has been between 85 and 90% and we work very hard to place our pets. If you have a pet you need to surrender and you live in Broward County, please contact us for assistance and resources that we can provide to help.
Yes, if you live in Broward County and have found an injured dog or cat you can bring them in. Owned pets should be brought to your local veterinarian for care.
If she's not going to let you keep it, take it to the shelter or the humane society.
Thank you for your question. Broward County Animal Care does not offer spaying/neutering services to the public. We recommend that you contact the Humane Society of Broward County at www.humanebroward.com for information.
No, we do not have any pets from the Bahamas here at our shelter However, we do have many dogs in need of a home, so you are invited to stop by. Our address is 2400 SW 42nd Street, in Fort Lauderdale. We are open Tuesday through Sunday from 11AM to 6PM.
Please know that your pet's RABIES VACCINE/CERTICATE transfers--NOT the pet license tag. Someone mentioned transferring the license tag--that is not correct. If you move from one County to another County or state, you must abide by their laws regarding pet registration. Each County throughout Florida has their own ordinances and fees for pet tags. The M-D tag is NOT valid in Broward County (or any other County). Likewise, the Broward tag is now valid anywhere else. You will be fined for not having the appropriate pet license tag. Hi and welcome to Broward County! Simply bring your dog's current Rabies Certificate to our Adoption Center and we will sell you a new tag (we do not transfer tags). Our address is 2400 SW 42nd Street, in Fort Lauderdale. We are open Tuesday through Sunday from 11AM to 6PM. For more information, visit our website at http://www.broward.org/Animal/TagsAndShots/Pages/RegistrationRequirements.aspx
Thank you, Rosemary, for your concern. If you can trap the cats, we will spay/neuter and vaccinate them and return them to your community--that is our policy for Community Cats. If the cats are healthy and friendly, they will be placed into adoption. We are located at 2400 SW 42nd Street, in Fort Lauderdale. We are open Tuesday through Sunday from 11AM to 6PM.
There are low cost vaccination clinics. Just log in to the Broward Animal Care & Adoption Center website and look at the immunization schedule.
You will get the Animal right after unless it needs to be spayed/neutered. Then you will wait a day or two
Thank you for writing. The industry definition of "no-kill" is a shelter that sustains a save rate of 90% or more. Since the move to our new location, our save rate for our pets has improved significantly (85% or better). Each pet that is brought into our shelter is evaluated based on health and behavior and with the help of our Rescue Partners and the community, we have been able to place many more pets in homes. Residents play an important role in all of this, by adopting, fostering and volunteering. The more engagement we have from the community, the closer we will get to becoming a "no-kill shelter."

Thank you for contacting us and welcome to Broward County! Simply bring in a copy of your dog's most current Rabies Certificate to our Adoption Center. We will then sell you a Broward County License tag. That will get your pet officially registered with the County. Our address is 2400 SW 42nd Street, Fort Lauderdale. We are open Tuesday through Sunday from 11AM to 6PM. We hope to see you soon!
All of the dogs in our care are listed on our website at www.broward.org/animal. If you see your pet, then you need to come in and make a positive ID. We are located at 2400 SW 42nd Street in Fort Lauderdale.
The adoption fees on our pets are waived. You will be able to take the puppy home the same day provided the pet is no longer waiting to be reclaimed by its owner. Otherwise, there is typically a 3 to 5 day hold.
Not necessarily. See my previous answer
Our adoption fees are waived. There is no fee necessary for all dogs who are "adoptable," (Their hold time to wait for their owner is over). Those dogs are ready to go home right away. If you select a pet who is still waiting to be reunited with his owner, then you can place a $20 non-refundable deposit on the pet. If the owner does not come forward, you will be able to adopt the dog at no additional cost. If the dog is reclaimed, then you can select another pet.
We are excited to hear that you wish to adopt a dog. Simply stop by our Adoption Center at 2400 SW 42nd Street, in Fort Lauderdale. We are open Tuesday through Sunday from 11AM to 6PM. Once you select a pet, you complete an Adoption Application. You must also have a current Photo ID such as a driver's license. Thanks again for writing. We hope to see you soon!
They do have German Shepherd puppies from time to time but you would be best to check on their website to see what breeds / age dogs are available for adoption (which is updated every evening).
Thank you for your willingness to volunteer and make a difference. Broward County Animal Care is a governmental agency supported through tax-payer dollars. If you need to receive service hours from a non-profit agency, please contact the Humane Society of Broward County.
You're best bet is to go there
Thank you for your question. Our Adoption Center is open Tuesday through Sunday from 11AM to 6PM.
I agree with you Marjorie Meme
If a pet comes into our Adoption Center and receives a deposit right away, the pet is still listed on our website because the owner might be looking for it. Pets are removed once they are officially adopted.
Depends on the age of the pet and what kind. I suggest you look on their website I believe they have their fees listed.
Thank you for your question. Some of our pets have a "hold period" (usually 3 to 5 days from the time they enter our shelter) in which we are waiting to see if their owners will come and pick them up. If you select one of these pets, then you can place a $20 non-refundable deposit on the pet. If their owner does not come forward by the end of the hold period, we will let you know and you will be able to adopt him. If you select a pet who is past this "hold time," then that pet can go home with you right away.
Thank you, Alana. No we do not provide soft carriers. If you adopt a cat from us, we will provide a cardboard, ventilated carrier for pets, but not a soft-sided one. Those can be purchased at any pet supply store. Thanks for checking.
No! If you see one, not ready for Adoption, you may put $20 no refund, ,to hold the kitten.
Donna, someone will be contacting you regarding your request.
They have those, you should look online first then call to inquire if possible. If you can't, just go there and check out the puppies
No, you must be at least 18 years old to volunteer at our shelter.

The adoption fee on all of our pets are waived, so there is no need for a senior citizen discount. Thanks for checking and we hope to see you soon!
They will help but it be better to take him or her to a animal hospital but call the shelter for any questions and they will provide you information so what u can do.

You are welcome to call us at 954-359-1010.
Thank you for your interest in adopting. Our adoption fee is waived for all dogs who are ready to go home the same day. If you select a pet who is still waiting to see if his owner will come and claim him, you will need to place a $20 non-refundable deposit on the pet. If his owner does not come forward, you will be able to adopt the pet at no additional cost.
We are happy to know that you are interested in adopting. We invite you to our Adoption Center to see all of the wonderful dogs and cats who need a home. Do not call or e-mail about a particular pet since all of our adoptions are on a first-come, first-served basis IN PERSON at our shelter. If you see a pet you would like to adopt, then you will complete an Adoption Application. We do require a valid photo ID, such as a Driver's License. Our address is 2400 SW 42nd Street in Fort Lauderdale. We are open Tuesday through Sunday from 11AM to 6PM. We hope to see you soon.

Go to Broward county Animal shelter off Griffin road for rabies tag or local municipal to register.
Hello, I am in need of an emergency if they can have my two dogs, it is a Hoskins and a German shepherd, they do not let me have them where I moved
Are you talking about the rabies tag? You have to pick it up at any petsupermarket with the receipt
We do not have a clinic for owned pets. If you wish to surrender your dog, please make an appointment.
Their arent any at the moment but you can always check the website for any updates on animals at the shelter.
We recommend that you stop by our Adoption Center and take a look around. We receive pets everyday, so perhaps you will see a dog who meets your needs. We are open Tuesday through Sunday from 11AM to 6PM. Our address is 2400 SW 42nd Street, FTL.

They dont charge for you to drop off but if you like you can donate food or money. I believe.
Thank you for contacting us. A shelter (any shelter) should be a LAST RESORT for your pet. Please check with family, friends, co-workers and neighbors before bringing your pet into a shelter. As was mentioned below, large dogs are harder to place than smaller breeds. Please note, that we do not accept any pets from outside of Broward County. Additionally, since this is your own pet, we recommend that you take him to the Humane Society of Broward County on Griffin Road.
Hello. The pets on the website that say they are not at the shelter are animals that have been found by people who would like to keep the pet, but also realize that someone might be looking for their lost pet. So, a picture of the found pet goes up online, and if someone contacts the shelter saying this is their pet, and they have proof, the shelter will connect the two people. If after 30 days nobody comes forward, the finders can register the pet as theirs. Yes, fees are waived right now, except if you want to place a deposit on a pet that is not ready to go, and still needs vetting. The deposit is only $20.00
If you foster it first adoption is free plus they spay them for free.
Broward County Animal Care only handles dogs and cats. Thanks for checking!
Dogs and cats no birds
I don't believe it is guaranteed that mom and babies will be kept together. That depends on available fosters and space. They might separate the babies and have them bottle feed by different fosters. Also they are closed on sundays so you won't get a response until tomorrow.
The information below is correct. Your cat will have to receive a waiver from your veterinarian, but you are still responsible for the pet license. Once you receive the waiver, you will have to submit it to us either by 1. Purchasing the tag online at our website (www.broward.org/animal) 2. In person at our Adoption Center, or 3. Attending one of our monthly Rabies Clinic events. Thanks for your question and for being a responsible pet owner.
Rabies shots and County pet license tags are available at our monthly Rabies Clinics. Our next Rabies Clinic will take place on Saturday, October 13, from 9AM to 2PM at TY Park, 3300 North Park Road, Hollywood, 33021. Cost for the shot and tag is $25 if your pet is fixed (sterilized) and $35 if your pet is not fixed. Free microchips are also available. We hope to see you soon!
Call Broward County animal care. They will be able to help you with most questions you have.
Animal control
Look in Facebook for Roz Harris and ask her if she can help you in some way with your dog. Explain to her that you adopted him from this shelter. She send me to a Veterinary which was really cheap , my dog was adopted from the same shelter . My dog was heartworm positive.
Maybe call to see if there are volunteer opportunities. It is close to the F. Lauderdale / Hollywood Intl airport.

You should call them ,I'm not sure about the policy !!!
No, Broward County Animal Care is part of Broward County government and is funded by tax dollars. In addtion to providing pets for adoption, we also regulate the County's pet laws. The Humane Society of Broward County is a non-profit organization, funded through donations.

Animal Care does not treat injured wildlife. Please contact the Wildlife Care Center at (954) 524-4302 for a referral, or contact some veterinarians in your area who might be able to treat the turtle.
Hi Doris. Yes, our Adoption Center has two on-staff veterinarians. However, they do not treat owned pets, only the shelter dogs and cats in our care. If you have a pet who needs medical attention, you will have to take him to a private vet clinic in your area.
Try Karma Rescue in FT LAUDERDALE
We are hosting a Volunteer Orientation on Saturday, June 2, at 10AM, here at our Adoption Center, 2400 SW 42nd Street, in Fort Lauderdale. You are welcome to attend to learn more about our Volunteer Opportunities.
Call them or visit the shelter daily to see if any new animals arrived at their shelter.
If your cat was adopted from there the cat should be vaccinated already unless it was a kitten then you need to schedule an appointment for the rabies vaccine.
Hi... how old it is?
Thank you for your interest in adopting. Currently the adoption fee is WAIVED for all large dogs (40 lbs and over), as well as cats and kittens. The waived fee for cats and kittens includes those felines located for adoption at all Pet Supermarket stores located in Broward County. There is a $50 adoption fee for all small-sized dogs (less than $40 lbs).
As long as your dog is healthy. They will not put it down. 100% probability because of your pets age. Been there & had to do it. Good Luck you are showing compassion that a lot of people don't have period. I would go to a no kill shelter such as Broward SPCA on Griffin Rd just west of 95 on the south side after RR tracks.Or do as Donia says.
Thank you for writing. All adopters must have a valid photo ID. We do not conduct home checks.
What are those remedies ... if the dog has red ears and peels ... and those in the body thanks ... for helping me blessings!
They close and everyone cleans up to get out on time. Wish they had better hours and were more accomodating.
thank you all :]
If the trusts you get a cage or a box to bait and trap so is off the streets and safe at an adoption center or Foster home.
In some days there are puppies, and the price usually goes in a donation, but the dog comes with all its vaccines including the chip
For me to understand in the refuge they are only given the food of a company that is in charge of feeding them nonprofit, in advance thank you.
Hi, I would like to know if one can volunteer. I have two children who love pets.
Yes you can 18 yrs old and iver and you may get hours credited if you foster a pet.
Thank you , but information for broward county , there is no such thing as animal control , in broward county it has been declaired animal control does not pick up PETS. ONLY STRAY WILD OR UNCLAIMED , i brought my remains to human society and for 25$ it was taken care of creamation properly !! They were kind and helped in a strenuous time
They have Summer Camps for minors but you have to apply months in advance.
I've been there twice and didn't see any birds at all.
Try to ask them. But probably the Humane Society in griffin road is the place.
They have a lot of pets, but the 80% are pits.
You have to go there to check.
Not sure about thhat ,but I know they have volunteers there alot....
Yes, once you pay adoption fee, animal is sxheduled for spay next day. While under anesthesia, they microchip them. Then they call you when animal can be picked up, which is usually the day after you pay for them
They do have volunteer opportunities.
Breeds vary from purebred to mixes. You can check the website to view available dogs. Visiting regularly also gives a good idea
No they was closed
Why don't u contact them ? They will b glad 2 sit down w/u & walk u threw the program.
No, they don't. Broward County has a no kill effort to save all healthy adoptable animals. If a stray is healthy, or only needs basic care, there's a hold period so the owner has a chance to claim the animal, then it's available to the public for adoption. If an animal isn't healthy, the county works with a bunch of local rescue groups that take the sick or injured animals, raise funds to get animals the care they need, and then they run the adoptions. Broward Animal Care saves a lot of lives by working with so many rescue groups. Generally speaking, the only animals that are euthanized by Broward Animal Care are extremely sick, injured beyond recovery, or otherwise not viable. The Humane Society is a different story. They euthanize healthy animals indiscriminately and don't have the rescue partnership programs for sick and injured animals. Do not bring an animal there if you want it to have a chance to live.
You do not choose an abandoned pet, they lovingly choose you.
There are foster home people who taking dogs for a week a month a couple of months and then return them to their owner these people are very close to God for doing that
Humane society is a better place to bring a owned pet they have a better chance there
Squirrels are wildlife and meant to live freely out doors. You can enjoy watching them, I love to watch them. It's relaxing
Amanda Grimme is correct. Thanks for your help. The Wildlife Center is the place to go. Double checking is always good !!
I believe so but your best bet is to call the shelter
Yes, the animals have an expiration date. If not adopted they will be euthanized
People there are very friendly, hopefully you find the one you're looking for
You can turn him in to the shelter and he will go up for adoption, however if he doesn't get adopted after a couple months there is the possibly that he will be euthanized.
The vet should of issued you a death certificate. Take the certificate or email the certificate, to Broward County Animal Care and Adoption.
