If you adopt a pet, do you have to take it home that very day?

Thank you for your question. Some of our pets have a "hold period" (usually 3 to 5 days from the time they enter our shelter) in which we are waiting to see if their owners will come and pick them up. If you select one of these pets, then you can place a $20 non-refundable deposit on the pet. If their owner does not come forward by the end of the hold period, we will let you know and you will be able to adopt him. If you select a pet who is past this "hold time," then that pet can go home with you right away.
