They have a very great and kind team of service members, but i don't quite understand an amputation decision as well as couple experiences when I visited the shelter. However, I thank the shelter and its staff for protecting the less fortunates and had spent significant efforts to help me find a matched and well loved adoption.

I just found the cat of my dreams at this shelter. The shelter staff are extremely kind & knowledgeable & the kitten set up is the nicest I’ve seen! Shout out to Ann for being amazing & helping me & my daughter find the most beautiful kitten in the world. Ann you’re awesome!!!

The Animal Care Services was busy when we were there but the staff were super kind and helpful. There’s a dog park for your dog! They have a lot of animals to adopt and you can also help volunteer to foster some of their animals.
Thanks! Your review is awaiting moderation.
Yes. And take her to small claims court to sue to be paid for ur vet bill ur time from work, gasoline and any.medications ur dog may need!!!!! Good luck to u!!!
No, you should not keep her. .you should definitely take her to the shelter or have them come get her. Someone out there is missing their fur baby I'm sure
I have my cats altered at the Sacramento SPCA. Please call Front Street at 311 for information.
Call for appointments
It would be likely off of powering road SPCA
I found its home, but thanks for the help, sorry for not giving the ID.
They will NOT accept owner surrendered dogs. I am not sure about other animals. I tried to take my dog there. If you want to surrender your dog, you have to call the SPCA. You have to have a really good reason as to why you are surrendering your dog too. Financial, housing, behavior are NOT considered acceptable reason and your dog will be declined.
I believe they do! I would definitely call ahead to find out if they treat that and the hours for the clinic
Not that i am aware of. I know that the animal shelter off of Florin-Perkins Rd has low cost neutering and shot.
What's going on with the dogs? Is there no one home to feed them? If not I would at least make sure they have food and water.....not sure if you can just take them to a shelter, but if they are being abused you can call animal control
They give free food on Thursdays and Sundays at 9am. My advice is get there around 8:30-8:45 because they often run out of food quickly, especially cat food so you don't want to be at the end of the line. Hope that helps :)
Yes you can take it to the animal shelter and yes they will take very good care of it and we'll find it home if it's not too old yes we will
No and I think you can do this online
Check Bradshaw, spca and Front Street Shelter.
Yes you can. Everyday from Wednesday through Sunday from noon to 5 pm. Closed on Monday and Tuesday.
If you are on any sort of Public Assistance such as food stamps, medical Etc you can go to Front Street and have all of the vaccinations, rabies shots and microchips at no charge.
If you are in Sacramento city usually Front Street. Call 311 and get appointment.
Idk if they will pick up your pet but it's possible! If you need help I'd be willing to take your pet there for you if you want to call them and make the arrangements ahead of time, however, if not I'm sure if you call them and tell them your situation, they would help as much as they can, they are all very kind and loving with the animals and very nice and caring in my dealings with them. I recommend giving them a call! Lemme know if you need help!
Front street will.accept all donations
No I don't think so As long as where you found the animal was in city of Sacramento. Best of luck. And thank you for saving an animals ❤
I had a similar experience with un-adopting a Australian herder type dog... some dogs need 'jobs,' or something about their earlier life makes them a bad fit for a given household. Don't beat yourself up, it happens. We got a pit bull (I never considered that breed before) soon after and we are going on 5 years of famial happiness. Don't give up on adopting, you'll find the right one!
@harrymaroon how will you feed it?
you have to go in...find a dog you want to meet and bring the kennel card for that dog to the counter...then you get to meet the dog... then you can fill out adoption paperwork and stand in line to process it.... it was busy last time we were in and it took half the day...it's worth it
3rd Sunday of every month. 10 am to 1pm... sorry for repeated messages
If You Can, Keep it Till The Morning. Then take it there first Thing Tomorrow. Hopefully You can take it Home. Other than That, I Really don't Know. Sorry.
Hi Novella, I would recommend going to the location where the dog is that you would like to adopt and speak to them in person rather than through email. It will speed up the process. Usually it don't take long at all, the adoption process.. If you are unable to go to the location, I would at least call them and make them aware that you had emailed at such-in-such date with interest to a specific animal. Good luck! Hope it all works out!!
You'd have to call to see if they can do that for you. Plus you gotta make sure that's the right location to take your animal. It depends on your address if its them or SPCA. They'll ask for donation no matter what, but if you don't have it, just tell them you'll donate in the future when u have the means to. If they don't do pickup for you, maybe someone/a friend can swing by and take the animal for you and do it as a non owner drop off..like a found animal off the street kinda thing so its free to do that for you..otherwise they'll try to charge them probably. Good luck to you!! If I could I'd help ya get your animal there..sorry I can't do more at this moment.
You'd have to physically go and see. There's a high turnover of cute puppies.
In some cases if there is a demand for some types of dogs they will send a few to various adoption centers such as Sutter county or neighboring shelters after completing the shots and other services.
Lost, stray or abandoned animals found within the Sacramento city limits can be surrendered to the animal shelter at the Reception Center during business hours, Wednesday - Sunday, 9AM - 5PM (link: https://www.cityofsacramento.org/Community-Development/Animal-Care/Contact-Us)
There should be a link given to you in the paperwork in which you would go and enter your own information. That was what we did.
You can adopt pets at the shelter
Yes. Take him/her to the front Street animal shelter
Are you trying to surrender a dog
If you are trying to have a animal as a service animal, all you need to do is go to your doctor/ psychiatrist/psychologist and let them know that you require a service animal they can give you paperwork that you can show to your apartments/where you live to avoid having to pay fees for the service animal and be able to keep your animal also. ;-) :-)
Yes! I adopted a cat last year. If the cat is over a year old, it only costs $5 to adopt (spay/neuter and all shots are already included). For kittens under a year old, they cost $65 to adopt. Some kittens, if they are too young, can be adopted but will be held at the shelter until they're old enough and have received all their shots at the shelter.
No hablo y escrito espanol. Can you ask that in english? About all I got from that was its about a dog....
If you had an appt from a surgery or other medical need they will surely hold onto your husky but just like everyone else said call 311 first thing in the morning and ask to be transferred to the front street manager otherwise you will reach their voice message and u would have to wait for them to call back. Good luck ❤ I just wanted to add it shows they are closed til Wednesday due to the holiday so definitely call 311 and ask for front street and if it was a spay/neuter due to adoption pick up if the manager isnt answering call back and ask to speak to the Vet. She is very very nice and easy to deal with and I'm sure she can get you your sweet husky first thing in the morning.
Most of the time its is but it goes fast unless it's a puppy the everyone wants
I'm not sure if they offer this service.
If you live in the city call Front Street Shelter and in the City call Spca or Bradshaw. You will need to have the cat in a cage or room in your house. Have this pick the cat up or just drop it off at receiving. Just tell them the cat just showed up pregnant.
They are Social secrurity cards.
Did you check with the animal shelters when he was first missing or did you fill a lost pet report? Seven weeks is qit awhile. The dog is either adopted out or someone has picked it up by now. If the dog 2as chipped you would have gotten a call by now. But never give up.
I'm not sure if Front Street Takes donations, but call for sure! Also, if you have the NextDoor app, you can find someone in your community that may pick them up for free, or CraigsList! I know that the SPCA will take and use donated goods, you just have to take them in! I'm sorry for your loss, but I admire your helpful spirit! Sending love your way! 💛
How do you know these are feral cats? Do they have tipped ears? Do you live in the city? Put a mettle wire. I love cats.
You would have to check but I believe someone told me in the past that you can take your dog to a vet school and seek low cost or free care and I thought it might have been UC Davis. I go to Banfield Pet Hospital and pay $33 a month for health insurance but the first time I took him as a puppy it was $66 month which included him being spayed and all his shots. I love the staff and care they provide so much I actually referred my parents over there and they are very happy as well. Good luck!
I'm not sure but if you call their general information number they can tell you for sure.
Call the shelter, I believe you can get him if you can prove ownership, pictures, a chip, papers, etc. But there may be fees, as a service worker had to come get your loose animal, you may have a ticket waiting for you as well, depending on if your dog injured someone or caused property damage. Also, you may not be able to obtain your animal, if he has been deemed "aggressive" by authorities. Your best bet is to fix whatever issue it is that allows your dog to escape unattended, and fix it. Leash laws are enforced everywhere in Sacramento and, believe it or not, one trip may cost you your animal and a pretty penny. Good luck! Give them a call.
Yes, I had a similar problem and the neighbors refused to do anything. They picked up the dogs.
If you surrender the animal yes. But you can't say an animal is a stray and then get shots and then take it home. That isn't a stray animal.
They just stated a voucher program at the end of last year! On Sundays @ 9am is one day the food is given out. You will need to bring a valid ID so they can sign you up and then 2x each month you are allowed to get cat food, dog food or both
Yes. If you are low income and live within the city limits you can go on the third Sunday of each month.
I can use it in sacramento Del Paso area
The shelter to my knowledge as a volunteer doesn't provide veterinary services to the public and the veterinary staff there are there for the animals under the shelters care I would take him to the vet
I can only tell you to ask a friend that you trust to take care of your cat, or get a pet sitter.
Go to a place to a place where you can check the dog to see if it's chipped. If not check nextdoor or Craigslist to see if someone is missing the dog.
If by "petimony" you mean support for pet(s) after a separation or divorce, consult with a lawyer. “U.S. courts are increasingly ruling pets are more akin to children. American judges have begun to rule on joint custody, visitation rights and support payments.” Sounds like it's just beginning to be available through court proceedings.
I don't think that the Front Street Animal Shelter is accepting any type of animal's, the only one that accepts animal's is the ASPCA on Florin-Perkins Road. But I'm not sure if their accepting any animal's either, because their over flowing with animal's. Actually I think that all of the Shelter's are over flowing with animal's.
Yes but sugguest call 311 ... they will transfer you eventually...eventually after being on hold you can get an appointment at Front Street ....suggested as we've literally waited over two hours on their parking lot just to bring in a stray dog. Works much better with an appointment. Keep in mind they may put the animal down if very ill.
On shelters, if found in the City of Sacramento, Front Street Shelter. Go to their website to add the kitty as found. As well, there are other resources listed to find the owner. It's almost impossible to just go in and talk to anyone at Front Street so call 311 and asked to be transferred so you can arrange an appointment. Plan accordingly to be waiting on the line for at least a half hour. They were helpful in repairing a neighbor's cat's ear ripped off.. the guy was not taking care of the cat and another neighbor took him to Front Street. If you plan ahead kitty can get care there.
Try dialing 311
I'm sorry, I don't know. Maybe you could call the shelter, they could help you. Good luck
Shelters only provide services to animals that have been fully surrendered. You would have to give up all rights and possession.
Yes, call first
I'm sorry I don't know.
I believe so. When I adopted my kitten last week they explained a 30 day return clause which they said that after the 30 days it was returnable with a surrender fee.
I would pick either a dog or a cat then on my appointment I'd ask for that particular pairing.
I'd make an appointment. They aren't letting people in without one.
No they're not taking walk-in appointments at all you got to call make an appointment if you find a lost pet they will come out and pick them up or you can drop the pet off and meet the lady outside but no you cannot go inside at all unless you have an appointment they're really strict on that right now. If your pet got lost and they have your pet they will contact you and bring your pet to you or you can go and meet the lady that's working there outside that's basically all I know I found a straight dog I wanted to keep them but my landlord said no so a lady came out and picked him up for me I hope I answered your question if not please contact me again thank you
Appointments only
Yes
Yes you can. Just go to the website. Just click on the License tab.. Make sure you are applying in the correct shelter though. There are different websites depending on where in Sacramento you live. If you live in the city of Sacramento, then the Front Street Shelter is the correct one.
You have to check with shelter, I don't know
In all honesty that's a hard question to answer, but you can try the Front Street Animal Shelter. They are the best bet to help you and/or point you to the right direction. Sorry I could not be better help.
I think your better off getting them done at the SPCA..
They send it in the mail. I get mine in about 2 weeks. If not call 311 and speak to the operator
Don't have a website
I would call a veterinarian. This is a shelter although they do some services they don't do surgeries. The Modtown Animal hospital is the best. Dr Rose is so helpful. She can help you. Best of luck and I hope you both stay safe and healthy.
They will be open at noon to 5 pm Monday to Friday
If you give them a call and you are fostering, they should be able to schedule a food pickup
As they are a shelter, their selection of breeds and sizes changes nearly daily. If they don't have the type or size you are looking for, just keep checking back and eventually you'll find something.
Needs to go to a Vet Hospital if it's bleeding
U have to call 311
It is included in the white receipt they gave you that proves she was spayed 🐕
I'm sorry i really don't no but im sure it is cuz it's Xmas
It's best just to show up. Go and do the application talk to somebody about it
Call the shelter
Not sure hope so if not thats uncool
It's always changing, so you can check what dogs are available for adoption on their website at http://www.cityofsacramento.org/Community-Development/Animal-Care/Adoptions
You should call them. Because they do make mistake. They have lost my rabies shots certificate after i staple my ✔ to it they cash the ✔ , but lost the certificate. Also they might not put a picture up yet.
Call 311
No you dont have to pay a fee. But keep in mind that pets are not accessories so in the future if you think you want an animal remember that you have to care for it for its entire life. Just imagine for a second what your dog will go through being abandoned at a scary strange place. Front street is a great shelter but your dog does not know it and the people there. It will be put in a cage and HOPEFULLY adopted.
No there euthanasia amount is very low. I believe only if the animal is sick or seriously injured.. front street has came along way..I just took a dog I found lost there a couple weeks ago. I wouldn't of done that if I had any thought that they would euthanize her...
The shelters for dogs and cats give away food for 🐕🐕 s and🐈🐈"s
I don't think so, but I would call to find out. If not. I'm sure they can direct you to where you can find one
I'm not sure. I follow their Facebook page to find out about free adoptions and events
Not technically, but they are a fantastic and innovative shelter whose staff and volunteers go above and beyond to try to place each pet.
Today & tomorrow. Oct 19 & 20, 2019
There's no fee, but you have to live in Sacramento City and not the County then you take them to the brandshaw office
Yes at the front street shelter as long as there not aggressive towards people or other animals you can drop off your cat or litter and as long as they are healthy and adoptable they will keep them at that shelter for as long as it takes. They never euthanize any animals. If they cant find a forever home they will be placed into foster families or adopted by a cat sanctuary . so yes you can feel good about there process on strays and drop offs
I believe you can call Animal control OR try to catch them and take them to the shelter. They have to be at least 4 weeks.
I just picked any rescue in Sacramento hoping someone had heard this story.
I know u r only 11 yrs old, but u need to use spell check. And your sentences don't make sense.
It would be better to post this on FACE BOOK, first...! There's a lot of animal Lovers on FB...! I also agree with Madison Rivers, there are fees when you surrender your own pets so you might want to call @ their price before you drop them off...!
? You consider it a pet or pest?! Take it any how .call and ask.
Though there is a "rodent" section, its typically never open and I've only seen rabbits or bunny's. You can try calling to check as well if this doesn't help.
Bring them in when they are open. Can you take them and mama all together so she can be spayed ad well?
Yes
Check all the animal shelters near you there are 3 in the Sacramento area front street Bradshaw and florin perkins.
If you get SSDI or SSI bring in your proof and it shouldn't be very much...!
Setup appt to see animal
I would call the county animal control
Because there's enough dogs in the world that need homes, and they are trying to prevent more puppies. They would rather have people adopt a dog then buy one. I'm not saying you're puppies wouldn't be beautiful, but there are so many dogs in the shelters that are being put down every day because there simply isn't enough room for them, they need to be adopted out of the shelters , hope that answers your question....
Just call them and ask how long they keep dogs, hopefully people microchip their dogs and get them back right away
Call 311 and report it
I really dont know.I havent heard of that one yet.
You may arrange to physically interact with some animals depending on the animal's temperament. The staff is very helpful with this.
Animal control unfortunately. I don't think they'll get there for hours so you could always continue to try to get the animal but be safe for both you and the animal
Yes they are open on the weekends, and fully staffed. They are closed Monday and Tuesday. You do have to pay to surrender your pet.
Cancel bid eBay has a right to take your animals but you have to be sure you want to put your dog or your cat to work hard decision you have to make it on your own
Dude go to any feed and train store and you can get the injections for yourself to do. All but rabies. They are like 15 bucks?
Actually those low cost flea products are not safe for your animals. Check out this website for low cost natural flea control and how to get rid of them. Www.dogsnaturallymagazine.com/best-home-remedies-fleas/
They do have puppies, but usually the puppies are there because they have been abandoned and they do not have a mom and dad.
Yes u have the RIGHT...
I’m trying to adopt a dog so what do I have to do
If u got animal there they do it all for u at no charge, if u just want animal tested not sure but they r cheaper then vets.
I would take the dog in call First and see what they say CCD teacher since you came in since you can't see them have somewhere you can go still would be my best answer for you
For the dogs it keeps and puts up for adoption they do
Animals goes so very fast for certain breeds and I can understand why you would want a drawer funny but you really need to check online or go down and look at what is available
You can request an animal welfare check notify 311
It can be removed if it is investigated and they find the dog is indeed neglected or abused. Not sure if Front Street can actually do it. You may need to report it to the SPCA.
If you live in Sacramento City the rabies shot is free with the license. He can also get a $5 microchip. So if your baby is lost someone can help them find home
Health
No
Depends, how long have you had the dog? We got my sister-in-laws dog with our even her asking us. But after one month they say it's considered ownership. I think you will have to pay a fee to surrender it after a certain time!
The pound is a generic term, I would check front street, sspca, and the Bradshaw animal shelter to start.
Because of the situation, I would try SPCA on Power Inn. Did you talk with the folks at Front Street? They're pretty helpful.
Wow, I remember delivering puppies with my mom when I was younger. What kind of dog? Yes call vet hospital 24hr.
Do all dogs or puppies have to be spayed or neutered when you adopt or you can chose ?
I'm sorry your furry family member is missing. First, if you haven't already checked the Shelter's website to see if your pup is there, or you haven't filled out an online Missing Dog Report, here's the website link to do so: https://www.cityofsacramento.org/Community-Development/Animal-Care/Lost-and-Found The answer to your question is, according to the Shelter website "...The shelter will hold onto an animal for a minimum of 3 days in order to give an owner the opportunity to look for his/her lost pet. The hold is extended if an animal has a microchip or if an animal is wearing a license tag, a rabies tag, and/or a personalized tag. If we receive information that the owner has been incarcerated or hospitalized, we will extend the hold in those situations as well." "Once the holding period has ended, an animal may be placed for adoption, transferred to another shelter or rescue group, or be placed in the shelter's foster care system."
Some people are bias, if you are able to properly care for a life, please do. Other than that please seek help and call animal hospital. Thanks for being a Savior.
Yes, there are adoption fees ($85 Dog, $100 puppy, Cat $5, Kitten $65) but it includes spay/neuter, Bordetella & DHPP vaccines, deworming, flea prevention, heartworm test, rabies vaccine, microchip, 1 yr Sacramento pet license, (dog) collar & leash & custom tag, future health check-up voucher
You should try to find a group of people that will reintroduce your dog depending on the type of it like if you have a poodle or a German Shepherd try to find a group that will take in just those kinds of dogs then you can explain your situation my question to you is why would you choose an apartment that doesn't allow animals you're not being fair to your animal
Could you handle another kitty she needs more play time.
Pits from what I have seen have a lower chance than any other breed I've seen go through. If you are thorough with description of what they know and their demeanor to increase the likelyhood of them getting looked at.
If you're going to keep the kitten take it to a vet. If you're not, take it to Front street. Sounds like to me the kitten has Infected eyes.
Please call shelter for more details
Are you in the Sacramento city limits? Are they friendly? Approx how old? If they are friendly, bring them to the shelter so they can get care and adopted. If they are "feral" trap them and bring them in so they can get fixed. If you are on Facebook look up the group Sacramento County Community Cats. They may be able to help.
Please check their website for information
No. They charge a fee. They will make you get a licensed if not already. Costs more if animal isnt fixed. Get information for NO COST SPAY/ NEUTER if needed in your situation. Good Luck. So glad your furbaby was found.
I think bradshaw will loan them out i know they used to but iam not sure if they still do
To any SPCA that's close to your home...
If your dog was chipped then you will be notified of your whereabouts of your dog as soon as they're known if not then you need to go down and take a look or check the website but you should at least go down and give them a picture of your dog and let them know you're looking for it that way it'll be easier for you. More action from you causes a bigger reaction from them
I also think its finding rover.
City of Sacramento, Animal Services.
Call them
I'm not sure. Sorry
Almost always! You can also check their website to see current adoptables!
I don't know about
It's usually $100-$125, takes care of licensing, spay or neuter and any other associated fee's.
Yes.
You can look on the website but you'll get the best info by actually going over there. Dogs arrive all the time and become avail to adopt later, they do the best they can updating the website and keeping it current.
No. Most dogs are about $100-125 depending of the age and how long they have been in the shelter.
I'm looking for a black lab he been miss for a while around the area of hagging wood park in the DPH area
If they have some available they can. You can call ahead to see usually.
Second Saturday of the month at early in the morning
U really just have to go. Not open mon and teus.
Nope
Call 211 they are county information
As long as she hasn't been adopted out, yes you absolutely can. They hold animals for a certain period, and you have to pay a fee for her to be released
Do you have papers on your dog
I had a hard-to-wrangle cat. You can try throwing a towel over him/her. A cat carrier with a top that opens, and oven mits, were helpful too.
Kittens are $65.00. That includes microchip, vaccines, rabies voucher, spay/neuter, license if you live in the city, and a free vet voucher.
When looking for a pet you must go to all the shelters in your area.
What you have a dog
There is no fee, and I believe there is a drop off on site, give them a call for where to surrender!
You should not buy aNY animal unless you can keep it for its life. Take the animal and surrender it to the animal shelter. They will find a new home for him or her. Thank you
Wednesday and Sunday starting at 9 am they give free food
Contact the department of fish and game they may be able to help or at least point you in the right direction.
We have notified Animal Control. In the future, calling 311 is the best option to get the information to us quickly. Thank you!
As long as it is not opened. Also toys.anything that has to do with dogs or cats.
You can check our their website for a complete listing of the animals they currently house.
Donations are appreciated. Also, give them her shot records if possible.
They have different dogs every day. That is not a question that can be answered. You just have to go until you find something you would like.
If you take the puppy to the shelter and they dont come claim it you could adopt it after a holding period . I BELIEVE.
Front Street does not spay or nudar. Call SPCA or Bradshaw spay and nudar clinics and get an appointment. I think it's 30 or 35 dollars. This is a good price. There are different prices all over Sacramento.
Are you in the city? If so call Front Street Animal Shelter and they will pick them up. Or if you live in the county call spca or Bradshaw animal shelters. I would say you found them outside or they may not pick them up. Keep them warm with a heating pad or warm water bottle. It's better if you can drop them off or find someone who can.
Yes, just take your cat to Front Street Shelter to surrender. Check in with the front desk staff and they will help you.
They can't. If the pet has a chip with you name and phone number you will be called.
SPCA or your own vet. Either way, stay with your pet until he or she is gone.
According to the GSD growth charts I found on the 'net a purebred female GSD should weigh around 50lb at 6 months of age. So you either have a German Shepherd mix, or a very sick dog.
That is true, and the dog needs to be neutered or spayed as well
Those are only questions they can answer. You'll need to call them. The longer you dog is there the more the fees may be. It won't hurt to just ask them. Tell them about your situation and maybe they can help you out. Good luck.
I can't speak about the tension between them, if there's any at all. Front Street is a City based shelter and the SSPCA is independent and funded by donations solely. They equally service the community, but if you find a stray for example you would drop them off at Front Street Shelter vs. SSPCA.
I'm not understanding what your question is and what it has to do with the shelter.
To adopt a dog the total adoption price is $85. Puppies cost $100. It doesn't matter the breed. The adoption price includes spay/neuter, microchip, 1 year license if you live in the city of Sacramento, vaccines, heartworm and deworm test, flea treatment, vet voucher, tags, collar, and if they have available a sample of dog food. The vet voucher is only good for the physical check up but not for xrays or medicines. Hope this helps! I'm a dog volunteer at Front Street: )
Go to the shelter and talk with someone from admin.im sure that they could use the help.
You can see them through the kennels but in order to meet with an animal you have to fill out an application to meet the animal. Make sure you take the kennel card with you up to the front lobby so you can show them which animal you want to meet with. Once somebody comes to help you and takes the dog or cat then you can meet with it, play and pet. I know all this because I'm a Front Street volunteer :)
They aren't on the corner about half way to the block. They occupy a few buildings. They are all clearly marked. They are very helpful there so if you end up in the wrong building they will let you know where you need to be. Good luck
Contact the vet you took him to for his first appointment.
It's the third Sunday every month I believe.
Check online or call.
I was told 1st fridays of the month
You can go to the animal shelter and find a dog that you like. They only have puppies from time to time, they have older dogs. The adoption rate usually around one hundred dollars.
I only speak English for the most part. But I know that they will put locator/ I'D chips in dogs
Feral cats are wild animals basicly and dont do well in an animal shelter. You can imagine how terrified they would be. Also no one comes to a shelter looking for an angry, terrified, snarling cat so these cats are killed in shelters around the country. The modern shelter does what is called TNR which stands for trap, neuter, release. Also checking for feline flv etc and vaccinating while they are at it. Then They are returned to their colony. Its more humane and cuts down on wild kittens and illness.
Call the shelter in the am. They always have great deals at this time of the year
They do offer free shot clinics throughout Sacramento held outside the local libraries once a month check 211 or the front street website to see when
They give puppy shots that are in the shelter. But they also have Shot Clinic days, you'd have to contact Front Street for the specific information.
Yes there are Feline Fridays. I remember they had that for awhile when adult cats were $5. I don't know if they discontinued the feline Fridays you'll have to go to the shelter to find out and asked. P.s. I'm a Front Street volunteer: )
You can try face book
Third Sunday of each month there's a free shot clinic if your low income in live within the city limits
There is a organization called 4RFriends they help homeless and low income people who have pets keep them healthy and happy fur babies. I know they do a clinic in the north area off of Railroad Drive every last Tuesday of the month. Normally between 12 & 4. Dr Jeanand her team are amazing. You should check out the website she might have something closer to you than that location. Trust me you'll love it.
You cannot make an appointment for a rabies vaccine. Rabies vaccines are issued on the last Wednesday of every month between 5 and 6 for $6. You may also attend the free vaccination clinic this third Sunday of each month if you are low income or are on some sort of assistance. If you license your animal, the fee that you pay for the license will also include a rabies shot.
If you can the building near the gate is where you can drop off the animal
You can go to their website and view what types of dogs they have in the facility what their costs are for puppies vs. Dog and then go down and fill out the papers for adoption. They have so many beautiful wonderful dogs!
Also, if your a senior you get a discount. But beware...if you get a chip ($10), you have to go online to active it which cost an additional $20/$40.
Yes the front street web site post the dogs they pick up on there page and the address of where they were found.
Front office at the corner
You can take it in to the shelter. Or call them.
Thank you Tonya Conley
I really don't know if they do vaccinations you would have to call the clinic part of it to find out
If you live within the city limits, and are low income, or some sort of assistance, you can go to the third Sunday of each month. You'll need to bring proof of your income your ID, and proof that you live with in the city.
I don't know if they will charge but I do know that they take all animals while they have room, will take good care and adopt the animal out. I have rescue two dogs one for sure I know is adopted out the other one I'm just guessing at the top it out because he's not there anymore. My suggestion to you would be to call them and to let them know what is going on so that they can give you more information.
I have gone in many times just to visit.
Yes you can take the dog there. Fair warning they are not the nicest when surrendering an animal. You can also go to the SPCA on Bradshaw to surrender the dog.
Front Street does not provide vet services to owned animals.
