disappointed you can not reach someone by calling. what is the point of a phone number if there is no one answering the phone and its just a loop recording? i have been trying to reach this place for 4 days so i can adopt a dog they have in foster care and no one replies to the many emails i have sent. i finally got someone on facebook but that was a dead end as well. i live over an hour away from this shelter so its not like i can just drive down there after work.

Staff is awesome, but I'm worried that small dogs are being spayed and neutered out of existence. There is a shortage of available small dogs. We must wait in line before opening to try to adopt one. Not everyone can do that. Who is going to address this problem before it's too late? We all can't care adequately for large dogs. I'm so sad about this.
Amy Mills
Helpful staff. Very clean , smelled sanitized. Very helpful staff and answered all our queries. Young cats qnd kittens were not available. They go fairly fast, look at the website before you go to see if your animal is still available or make an appointment.

We adopted a garden cat here today. This is our second pet we adopted at Bradshaw. It is a great shelter that provides support to the animals and people of our community. Our dog was adopted here about 5 years ago, she is a great dog and part of our family. Help support these animals by donating and adopting at this wonderful shelter, thank you!
Thanks! Your review is awaiting moderation.
The is a senior discount
I foresee GREAT things for you Saiko. Usually the age to is 13 for most places. I just have to say, I'm impressed! Please, for me, show this to your parents: Hello, you raised such an outstanding child. This will bring pride to your family for years to come. You should write a book with advice for others. Thank you for raising such a child, and a wonderful addition to society! Skyy
Hi. The Bradshaw shelter has a volunteer program. Although closed on Monday, I'm sure if you call, an option on recording may give instructions. Otherwise, Tuesday through Sunday head on over and ask dear. Good luck and thank you for caring.
Hours of operation are Tuesday through Sunday 11-6. A fee is required to surrender.
Where are you located..my friends and I ready to help we also trap to spade and neuter. Hello again whatever happened with the cats? I know I just found this posting sorry I Wasn't able to contact you months I moving and got caught up with worries about my feral cats I was leaving behind well I ended up taking one with me Kylaya if I would have left without her she would have hunted me down and clawed me to death then I had to go get another one kit-Kiddas some cat I think was beating up on her she tiny and very skiddish she safe now ky hates her anyhow I appoliglize for not checking back with you Never CALL. ANIMAL control their job is to destroy animals they will put that little dog down Bradshaw Animal shelter is the best a Place to surrender a. Animal they will not put to sleep if they are not adopted they will probably go to a foster home to live out the rest of their time.never call animal control their job is to kill Animals not safe they should be name the slaughter house
It took us about 20 minutes for our adoption. We knew who we wanted to adopt going in though. You can walk thru the animals or if you already know who you want to see, you just ask to go see that animal. Then you pay and your on your way with your new friend.
Was she a Chihuahua
My dog was @ Bradshaw n cuz she was a pit bull, she was transferred to SPCA. I finally found out where she was n called them. I gave them my phone # n my boyfriend's phone # AND told them I'd be down there on Wednesday AND that I did have the $300 n some to get her out. The SPCA adopted her out the next day. We didn't know til we WALKED down there on the Wednesday B4 Christmas to get her. They wouldnt tell us where she went n I have been broken hearted for the last year. She was 9 yrs old n we'd had her since she was a puppy. I loved her with all my heart n i think of her morning, noon n night. Good luck & don't let them bamboozle you. Keep fighting for your sweetheart.
Not sure call them or visit their website
Stop in. Hard to get a hold of by phone.
Yes on certain days of the month. Contact the shelter for more information.
Call the shelter and ask them
You should be able to get it, whenever you got your Pet's Vaccinated. You should have been given all of the necessary documentation at the time of Vaccinenating. If you Adopted a pet, you will be given an Adoption Package with all of the information Inside Of it. Also a really good place, & a really good price is go online to; dogandcatshots.com . It's a Mobile Low Cost Clinic for a Reasonable Price. But you have to make an appointment with them. I hope that this helps.
So you mean temporary placement in homes, animals who need adoption or families to shoot them?
Just give them a call and they will tell you everything okay
Take him to Bradshaw shelter they will take good care of him.
Both front Street and Bradshaw have websites which they update something like every 20 minutes. I was in the hospital in August, my dog ended up in the Bradshaw because I lived in the county. If you live in the city they go to Front Street
If I was you I would surrender to SPCA they do not put down. Dogs or cats your dog would go up for adoption
Sacramento County pound gives out dog food at once a month Thursdays and Sundays from 2 to 4
I'd call and get real answer. Ask if your parent can give you permission. But do call them and ask
There is no fee to turn in a found animal only to surrender your own pet
They always do. Go visit them and you'll find your perfect fur companion
I would contact the center office during business hours and ask!
I don't know, you have to call or go in to the Bradshaw office
They will train your surrendered pet to be sociable to other animals and people so they can be adopted.
Is there a cost to surrender guineas and bunnies?
a
Absolutely,
I'm sorry but I don't have an answer to your question, but I believe that if you call 311 they should be able to give you an answer.
No fee to drop off. I was there earlier today and they are overrun with stray cats. Unless they need medical attention, I'd leave them be.
I heard that the Serpentarium in Roseville will.
No. Saturday and Sunday only.
It is not labeled as a no kill shelter because the definition of a no kill shelter is that 90% of the animals have a positive outcome. However they do their best to care for the animals that come in with the little staff they have. This was pulled directly from their website: "Our shelter follows this policy, and will only use means of humane euthanasia when an animal requires medical treatment beyond our ability to provide or when an animal has unmanageable behavior that presents a safety concern to potential adopters or the community. These animals will be offered to our rescue partners, but unfortunately, they are not always accepted." Hope this helps!
Not that I'm aware of
I would call and find out if they can help you, or direct you to someone who can help. Sorry I don't have a better solution. I hope you can get what you need. S. B
Hi Barbara, you can donate unopened food to our Pet Pantry at the admission door at 3839 Bradshaw Road. Thank you for thinking of the pets in our community. To find out more about our Pet Pantry, visit animalcare.saccounty.net/HelptheAnimals/Pages/PetOwnersinNeed.aspx.
I believe so
I am sorry about your cat. Where did your cat have surgery at?
Please call your preferred vet and ask if they accept it.
Yes, on adoption fees, also if you adopt a senior pet.
No ideal but you may want to try a few rescues first. They will help your cat. Try Happy tails.
Check the list of found/lost pets at the Bradshaw website
If your able to show proof that you are low income you can go through the SAAC and get a voucher to get your cat fixed. https://sacanimal.org/our-programs/spay-and-neuter-for-pets/voucher-program/
Yes, you can surrender strays here.
You have to call the shelter to book an appointment. They are doing adoptions by appointment only
You have to make an appt before you show up. Best bet is to check out their webpage with instructions. https://animalcare.saccounty.net/Pages/default.aspx
A total of four dogs and four cats may be kept in the unincorporated County. All dogs and cats must be licensed. If you wish to keep more animals, a special permit may be required. Please contact the zoning department at 874-6221 for information about what is allowed on your property.
You can call 311. Listen to the prompts. Press 6 (I think) for the County of Sacramento. Have the animal ID number ready and the operator can look in the system.
Yes if you want to adopt a cat you must go down to the shelter and fill out the form AFTER you find the cat you want there at the shelter.
I have no.clue on what your asking sir.
Not sure. It is always good to call first and ask what they can do. Good luck.
I know there is a program for licensing and rabies. They will also provide food for 6 months.
No there is no drop off box only an intake office.
Male $80 Female $90
Christopher, I have. It's hard to get into someone who can give you the answer.
You can always take it in to see if they'll help! I've seen a lot of bunnies there!
Yes
Go to the SPCA, it's cheaper - and if your 65 or older, it's almost nothing - look the SPCA on Florin-Perkins.
Huh? Get a doctors note. There is no such thing as a registry for sd, sdit or other. Maybe therapy pet?? There is also no real service animal training protocol. You can get them already trained and pay for it, or you can train it yourself and save the money. Both work just fine.
I believe u still can. 5 years ago when my Bear passed I paid to have him cremated there and got his ashes for $115 dollars. Far cheaper than the $350 I paid for my Sabrina at my vet 3 years prior. Also I believe they have services for those who cant pay to keep the ashes in a box. I am so sorry for the loss of your fur baby.
Go online the website will tell you
They should.
No. Your best bet is to contact fosters who might be willing to work with you. If they have any ASPCA Adoption Ambassadors, that's what they do.
The Co. Answered all our questions but I found out I was unable to use their services since I live in R.C. They are very caring and understanding call and talk with them. They are very helpful and resourceful.
No, they are completely different and seperate entities
You.would have to go in and pay for the vaccines and then you would get a paper and or tags with the date that it was done
On October 12th, pet lover's have a chance to Adopt a Pet for $25.00 & Bissell Pet Foundation Will Cover the Remaining Cost @ 125+ Participating Organizations in the 26 States!! Thousands of Pet's Will Be Available for Adoption & are Waiting for a Second Chance. Here's an email that I received from the Bissell Pet Foundation, this is just some of the information that I received from them. So please keep this in mind, Don't Adopt to Prove a Point, Adopt Because You Can Provide a Permanent Furever Home With Plenty of Unconditional Love.
I don't think so. Because you have to do a little paper work when you are taking a dog there
If you're interested in adopting the dog that the man called animal control on. But you're not sure if he called the Bradshaw Animal Shelter or not. More than likely he called 311. Now I'm not too sure but I think that depending on wether you live in the city or county. The Shelter that is either City or Country jursidction wise will come pick up the dog, and take it to their shelter. You can go online to each Shelter's website to see if the dog is in one of them. Each Shelter has information, and pictures of the dogs that are on that purticular shelter. But please remember that most lost & found animal's are kept for 30 days so as to give the possible owner a chance to claim it. But if you are looking to adopt a dog there are Several Different Types of Breeds, and Sizes in All 3 of the Sacramento Animal Shelters. You can go online to look or you can visit and just walk through to look. Good luck on finding your Furever Friend.
You need to call 311
I'm not 100% but why not call them and ask...they definitely know? I do know they have clinics where it is cheaper as well. Those are marked days.
No. One fee for the family.
Dogs regular adoption fees are $121 male and $147 female.
Check availability on their website. All adoptable animals are posted.
When I volunteered a few years ago, they would take volunteers for non-animal work, but you have to go through training to work with the animals.
Call 311
Do you have a hair problem
If u call them or apply for the 15 .00 dollar voucher. Other wise I don't know. That's what I did
On the website, click the 'animal issies' that takes you to complaints or abuse numbers. You can ask if it is anonymous
They been having a $25..adoption fee..that includes the pet fixed and shots. But just to make sure give them a call.
If u call them thru might be able to help you with that. I don't know for sure
You should call them directly
I don't know but they have specials all the time I know the wind downtown right now you can adopt for free they're trying to get there shelters the amount of animals in their down
I am puppies I need to get rid of they're not mine
Dont have an animal unless you can care for it properly. Maybe that's why there's so many accidental litters and strays.
Easiest to go in they will hold the dog for 10 days and they post it
They used to do Feline Fridays. All cats are $5 on Fridays. I'd give them a call or check their Facebook page and see if they still do it.
You can check online! There might just be a discount.
Call them to find out
Call animal control they will help with the situation
Apply for low cost or free http://www.acr.saccounty.net/SpayNeuter/Pages/Low-Cost-Spay-and-Neuter-Services.aspx
Yes, if you have you proper dog tag or is license!
Yes
Toni White. Talk to them. They are very understanding
Call and ask. They are open at 1230
Call the shelter right away
They would probably love you for it, both the people and the animals!
Call them
If I'm correct they have a website or just give him a call good luck on your new puppy
Hi, tallie, I'm not sure about that. I think they do, but you need to cal and ask them. I'm so sorry about your dog. I know how much they can become part of the family. I hope this helped out if any have a nice day. Kurtis
I believe they have a 30 day surrender policy without penalty, but even if there's a fee, it's worth it if the kitten has a chance at a better home. I would contact them to find out details.
Yes but not sure of cost
I believe $50
Have you tried calling the front desk at KCRA or perhaps even The Newsroom?
Not sure sorry best to call and ask them
I believe that all adotions are $25 this month.
Not sure about now (present time), but I had a friend who was in a similar position and wasn't allowed to visit, hope this helps and sorry about your situation.
Yes, they have surrender cages
They take pets
Yes they spay dogs. Call them for prices or go to their website. http://www.bradshawanimalshelter.com
I'm not sure if there's a fee I would just give them a call
Right now would be a great time to take your kitty here because thay have plenty of room for cats right now! They will take good care of him, but he will be very stressed out in that environment so if you have a better option for him, I would do that instead! I wish you and your kitty the very best of luck!
Sadly they do not. I just called to verify the information. They told me that they don't have the capacity to do that. You can however take the Stray to the Sacramento SPCA which is also located on Bradshaw Road but it is not certain if it is a 24-hour service or not.
Sorry, I don't know. But give them a call...I hope they do!
That I don't know I would give him a call or get on the website
No
Yes, They are open Wednesday thru Sunday 12PM to 6PM. Saturday and Sunday 12PM to 5PM. Closed Monday and Tuesday.
The info should be on their website, but I'm sure you'll need: 1. Your ID/License 2. Proof of income Other than that, you'll need to take the time to find a dog that's a good fit for you, then let the front desk know which dog you want. They'll arrange a meet-and-greet and if it seems like a good fit, you just have to pay the adoption fee and you can take them home
You have to wait until your dog is picked up and has her chip scanned. That's how they can tell if the animal is registered to someone. They should have given you a piece of paper with the chip number though, so you might be able to call the local shelters to see if that number shows up. Because that way they can still track it of they didn't register it with a name or phone number. Other than that I suggest calling Bradshaw to see if they have the chip number on file and if they can help you reach out to those shelters.
Unable euthanize owner surrendereds at this time . Animal spay and neuter clinic maybe able to help if the animal is suffering . Its next to the shelter .
I understand your questions but cannot translate in Spanish. If you found pup in the Sac Co area, please take to Bradshaw Shelter. They should take her and treat her eye. Explain that your dogs don't like her.
275 dollars.
I'm sure you can give them a call to get the chip # then you can register your pet with any company. I use petlink.net
Look it up on goodle the closest one to you and hive them a call and ask them how much is it to surrender your dog.
I have a kitten looking for a home. Came from a feral colony but pretty tame. Do they take kittens ?
No they are not. They are peace officer branch of animal control. Look it up on google or ask either hey google or siri or alexa.
They do. But check bradshawshelter.net before you go to see what animals they have available for adoption.
Check you local animal shelter's website or walk in and tell them she is not good with kids. They should be able to take her in and help her find a home that has no kids. I hope that help you and her out.
Sorry for the loss first amd foremost. But ibwould say worst case yoi could afopt it for lik $10 bucks.
Call the shelter and see what they could do to help you cuz they know all the feral cat acts and laws
Call the shelter to find out
Mastiff are a guardian breed. They aren't aggressive they are protected. The cat probably did live there ? So the dog was doing his job and protected his place and his people. My dogs eat a raw meat diet. If the taste of blood made them want it more my whole family would be done by now lol. I understand your concern with having a young one. I have two sons myself. The only worry id have with a mastiff is it pushing over or running into my kids. But not any aggression at all. This is just my opinion on the breed in general. Ive never owned a mastiff but ive owned great danes and american bullies (both ha e a bad wrap about being killers) my dogs have never shown aggressive behavior towards anyone unless they approach their yard
Oh, no! Poor thing. I don't believe so. Definitely call animal control. Good luck.
No. But their live release rate is very high. In some circumstances, euthanasia is the most humane action to be taken. However, they try very hard not to resort to that. For example, I am currently fostering for Bradshaw a wonderful female dog who is eight years young and who has less than perfect eyesight. For a wide variety of animals to escape euthanasia there needs to be a wide variety of folks willing to adopt them but there are not.
They are closed mondays. Read the signs and check their website. Duh!
Tuesday through Sunday i believe
There is only a spay/neuter clinic on site. When adopting, they give you a voucher for a free check up. Most local vets honour it for a checkup
Take her to the SPCA they will help you and it's low cost immediately get her there before she dies excellent place Google their phone number
I would just take it in and explain to them the situation
Usually not. You can call to make sure, but for private information they wouldn't be able to let you know who adopted your dog 🐕
By law there is a 10-day hold for animals that are chipped. I’m not sure how many times they try to contact the owners during that waiting period. You can call 311 and ask.
If I was you I would check on their website or I would give him a call or possibly go down
Go in person. The shelter isn't open 24 / 7.
I don't know give them a call
If I'm correct absolutely yes I don't think they care where you come from as long as you take good care and love them and give him a great home
Yes they have a clinic I believe Tuesday& Friday
Did that said couldn't help me no longer have them. I ask you now what please someone help me!!
Once dropped off, they will need to be processed. Depending on age and if spay/neuter needed. They will do physical examination, schedule surgery recover then may be available in a week for a adoption fee. The fee will cover 1st shot, exam and surgery.
Yes you can also foster them ivdont think you get paid its volunteer but it's very much few 5hrre
That’s an awful reason to put an animal down. Shelters at least give them another chance.
Not sure but they do hold your dog and take care of it for a period of time before they put them up for adoption
Fishes and loaves has some help there
Have you found your cat
No
Move
They have a clinic on Tuesday _Friday I'm not sure what they charge i do know a lot cheaper the a regular vet
A lot of dogs become sick with kennel cough I would advise to see the vet
If you get your dog from the pound before you can adopt the animal must br spayed or neutered or you cannot adopt
One could only hope
I got a copy of that in my adoption packet.
You should drop in and ask. Very hard to reach by phone.
What kind of dog? How old?
Definitely contact the shelter or call 3-11
Just go to the shelter, any dogs that were recently brought in won't be on their website yet
I am not sure. Have you tried calling them? Or maybe on their website.
😔 yes! unfortunately they charge a fee for donating your dog! 😢😢😢😢
I think they do but you need to call them and see.
I didn't see anyone with other pets visiting. You will need to contact them. I suggest emailing them for a quick response.
You can not normally visit a foster at the foster home, they will take your application, vet it and then set up an appointment at the shelter.
just go to their location or go online. Go online to find the animal go to their location to get any information
You could check to see if there is a local rescue that has room for them. That way you ensure that they will get a home and not be potentially put to sleep.
Hes already urs just take good care of it n get its shots some places are free just call around
i have not paid a penny. most of the cats were strays that got feed with are cat. we didn't plan on having kitten last year . we sure dont want them this year. they have fixed all of them for free. females & malrs ,but they do cut the ear tip off so not to get the same cat again. park & look for the dog prints on the side walk it will take u to tne correct place. 4 cats down apx 4 to go.but no new kittens this year they really helped out! nver questions us. also will adopt out unwanted friendly cats.
this is a no kill clinic if its a really friendly cat sac county will do there best to find it a good home .i took my grandad daughters cat in to get fix . they were in the process to adopted her out cuz she was so friendly lap cat.good thing we picked her up asap before adopting it out grand daughter would have been very unhappy she is only 6 years old.another thing u can do it put it on craig's list.free cat needs a good home .we have had good luck with that but we do not let anyone come to are home to see or pick up cat.u never know who or what the persons may be up to. we meet them at a park or store parking not but make sure u have a good cat carrier. hope u find a good home hope this helped
As you have probably read Thomas will be undergoing surgery at UC Davis for his brain trauma. I'm sure it will be a long recovery before he is adoptable. You should watch the posting on Facebook for his progress and announcement that he is available for adoption.
I think it's a first-come-first-serve you have to be there in the morning as far as I remember you might be able to go in and put down on a waiting list.
There are low cost vaccinations as well as spay/neuter clinics. Check the website for info. You can also go to any feed store and buy the shots to give her yourself; it's super easy.
Call the shelter directly please
They will give him proper treatment and after he is done with bring sick he will go up for adoptionbif he passes a behavorial/temp test and medical What kind of dog is it and how sick
On their website
These a good chance the shelter will kill the cat and the kittens. The County shelter is not a no kill shelter. I would try to trap the pregnant cat, have her spayed for low or no cost, and return her to her environment. Is it possible it's someone's cat? Or you could let her have the kittens, get them weaned, and after 6 months bring them all in to be neutered. Or have you or family/friends take the cat in and let her have the kittens and then neuter them. God bless you for caring.
Call Happy Tails
When you get to the shelter, go to front desk, tell them you want to give up your dog, and you will have to fill out a form, and pay a small fee.
You would have to bring them to the shelter that serves yolo county, I believe. I would call first to find out.
No once it's given up its gone. So i suggest going back after a month to make sure it hasn't been euthanized
You don't want the precious pup because he/she does what dogs do and chews and/or digs? You do realize how absolutley awful that is, right? It would probably be best to for you to not own any animals, ever. Best of luck to the pup! 🐶🐕🐾
No surrender fee if not your dog
This is not a surrender. This is a lost dog. Too bad you can't kewp him while you look for the owner.
The shelters are terribly overcrowded and there is a high likelihood that your kitty will be euthanized if you surrender her. The surrender fee is $50
The recorded line will give information how to go about obtaining a new license. If you call 311 on Monday, they'll give you direct number to speak with someone in office.
You let the front desk know that you want to see the animal being fostered and they will make arrangements to have the animal brought to the shelter
Based on what particulars? For cat's & dogs? what about shots, licencences, & chipping. Hou much for all that?
I would call the shelter staff and ask them what you need to do to adopt the cat.
The Sacramento SPCA has an annual book sale that just ended last weekend. They frequently have one in the spring. It's generally advertised on their Facebook page
These people at Bradshaw love what they do and since it is feral they will help you as much as possible (if cat is savable). If you can invest the 1hour to attend the 2pm kitten fostering workshop tomorrow, you will get your best answer. I will be there; I have 5 feral kittens. They are helping me.
Only way to know if your dog is at Bradshaw shelter; you have to go there and bring proof, ie. Picture, tags.
I only 2 ways of doing it. A. Ignore the pup and it will stop eventually just remember to put something soft for it to snuggle on.or B. Let it sleep in bed with one of you?
If more than one person wants the same animal there is a drawing for best to get there early before anyone else does
No but they do offer discounts a desk SPCA on Bradshaw Road
I'm not sure, I'm a volunteer in training. I apologise i don't have that info, yet. I would advise calling or going into the shelter.
Sorry I'm no help on this way.
There is a fee. Depending on state of dog decides cost. I paid under $40 a couple years ago dear
Agree with above posts. You check the Bradshaw shelter, bring proof of chip.
You can visit their website and generally there is a picture of each of the adoptable animals and a brief description of the animal. As soon as an animal is adopted, it is removed from the website.
Not sure. I know discounts and a sliding scale is used.
If chipped, Bradshaw shelter will hold your cat for you, if someone turned cat in to shelter. If your cat isn't chipped, you could still check, but you have to adopt your own cat
It depends on when the pound is overcrowded. They will run ads on FB
Closed today, Tuesday through Friday
I'm sorry, your question shows you asked question of me last week? Message just appeared. Our pick-up time was 1630, but not able to arrive till 1700 ish. They were cool and I'm sure, relieved.
Surrendering pets is a service provided. Just take dog to shelter, they will direct you. There is a surrender fee. Closed Monday's
No idea. I do know that Bradshaw runs a vaccine clinic on Tuesday. Some vaccines are $5. And a wellness clinic on Thursday. I saw nothing indicating free, but sliding scale sure helps. Have a lovely Friday
Since Bradshaw doesn't answer phone (too busy), your best bet would just be, go visit them. Tuesday through Sunday 11-6. They house around 200 cats. You're sure to find a furbaby. Good luck Deborah. Ps. They offer low cost vet and vaccine clinics.
You know, I have no clue what they charge for vet services. Wish I could help answer questions related
Petsmart may be able to help. They have Banesfield vet inside
