This place takes excellent care of cats being 100% no kill and cage free it's amazing to have the cats free roam. I have gotten 2 cats from here and the process was a breeze and I adore both. It's also almost 100% volunteer run and is an amazing charity organization.

I live in a "no pets" townhouse complex where management has allowed the long term tenants to keep the pets we have but no more are allowed. There's a residential neighborhood next to us and a cat that was abandoned by its owner has started hanging out in my yard looking for food and making it so I can't let my cat outside. Management is also threatening to call animal control. I called this place to see if they could take the cat because he's really sweet and could be adopted and the woman that called back was awful. She could've told me right at the beginning of the call when she identified herself that they're full, but she let me tell her my situation with multiple "mhm"s and "ok"s before interrupting me to rudely say "I'm gonna cut you off right there. We're full" (like she didn't have ample opportunity before that to say they were full). She said I'd have to find a place that isn't and when I said all places are full all the time though so unfortunately he'll end up at the pound or something she snaps "don't try to guilt me into taking him!" I was shocked and said I wasn't and she didn't have to be so rude when I'm trying to help this poor baby to not be put down. She hung up on me in mid sentence! She mentioned twice that she has 10 calls to make today. So what? That's your job! I honestly don't understand why all these places are staffed with such rude and miserable people. I get that they can't take him, that's fine, but do you have to be so rude and unprofessional when talking to people? If you have to deal with this place, good luck.

We adopted our little girl here and what a joy she is! We named her Little Bit (they called her Virginia) and she fits right in our family! Adoption fee is $100 and the kittens are spayed and neutered, first set of shots, flea treated, etc. Their facility is clean and all of there felines are happy and healthy!

Go to purrball.com, they will tell you what you can do.
Don't know if it will help, but you might contact CHAKO. They are a pit bull advocacy group in Sacramento. If they can't take the dog, they may be able to suggest viable options.
Do you still have the kitttens
Contact Happy Tails directly. This forum is answered by other Google users, like yourself.
You can take cat here call to make sure
I do not know if they take pitbulls call them
What kind of dogs ??
Depending on where you live .front street animal shelter take surrendered cats and dogs.happy tail also takes surrendered cats
Call Happy Tails, they should be able to refer you to someone
My precious boy passed away recently and I WOULD LIKE another SMALL male dog.
Email the sanctuary. Theyll want to know if they are up to date on shots and if they get along with other cats. Or go in and talk to someone on the med staff.
I'm sorry for responding to your message late, but I just got it. Also I am not an animal rescue, nor do I work for one. But if you still have the dog, please call 311 & report this information to them. Also if you would be so kind as to give her a bath, I'm sure that she would appreciate it.
Get an ESA letter from your doctor. Legally, you can have your pet with one ! 🙏
Thursday, Friday and Sunday from 12-6 pm for cat meetings! Dogs are in foster homes.
Cats here have an adoption fee. They get a lot of different breeds that need good homes.
Happy Tails only has cats at the adoption center. The dogs are in foster care. I'd recommend contacting the Bradshaw shelter. They can scan for a microchip and try to get in touch with the owner.
From what I know Happy Tails is limited to cats.I would suggest calling a sanctuary that pertains to dogs. If you choose to seek the help of an Animal Shelter mention that he's not a family dog,he sounds as if he's had trauma- usually having the "challenged" part he might make a good roaming farm dog. You didn't mention breed - chows,Shepard's and pitbulls are challenging breeds, however it sounds like trust issues. If he's midsize you want to consider having more outings . I'm sorry he pushed back, not knowing why or speculating can be traumatic for both of you. If you are of loving and attached to him talk with an professional. Animals have different temperments just like us Sometimes it's a grumpy day. Good luck
Try your local ASPCA
Yes!
Happy Tails does not offer boarding services as they house only pets looking for new homes through adoption. Have you tried Franklin Ranch, Arden Creek Kennels or Animal Den? Thank you!
Hi. Yes, we have two puppies - Tofu and Mochi - available that must be adopted together. We only house cats at our Adoption Center. All dogs are in foster homes. If you are interested, please visit www.happytails.org, under "Pet Adoptions," and fill out our online dog application. Thanks!
You would have to call the sanctuary directly to find out.
Only cats I would try Click the link they are in sacramento and the take in exclusively cavies. http://sites.google.com/site/thecncr
I think they would. They are so caring for these pets and would most likely take the cat.
This is an animal sanctuary, for unwanted and abandoned pets. HT does not cater to those looking for specific breeds. Spaying and neutering domestic dogs and cats to prevent overpopulation instead of breeding them for money is the idea. I suggest you rethink your attraction to breed specificity and consider meeting an animal based on your desire for its size and activity level and look at local shelters. HT has a website you can view available dogs and cats. Email HT and someone will contact you for a adoption interview over the phone. Good luck.
Hi there, sorry to hear about your dad's diagnosis. I don't work for Happy Tails, however, I did post feedback about my canine adoption through them. I love my little guy, Milo. They are great people and their organization is first rate. I recommend them highly. I haven't spoken to them since COVID-19 pandemic so I don't know what to say, except their number should be on their website, give them a call. If they can accept the dogs, they will be in good hands. Good Luck!
This is a public forum, if you'd like to speak to Happy Tails directly contact them through the website.
Hi Sharon, I'm so sorry to hear that. Happy Tails (HT) is a non-profit, no kill animal sanctuary. You should contact HT directly for assistance to surrender your cats. This Google post is not an official HT communication. Hopefully you can keep your cats! I know most Sacramento apartments that allows cats have a 2 cat limit and that's with a pet deposit and sometimes even pet rent. Good luck.
No, rescue dogs only.
There is info about volunteering on the website. You can also call for more info. The staff I've met are friendly.
Happy Tails for cats only
Happy Tails is a feline sanctuary. Good luck Leslie🙏. A young malamute will find a home with no problem.
That I dont know but I'm sure if you asked them they would know
I don't know if that's what they do you can call them
Try calling them
They do have dogs, but only in foster homes.
You'll need to call them and all other shelters in the area (Front Street, SPCA, etc.)
Contact the shelter directly. This is other Google users, not the business.
I dont know the answer to your question, but this organization & the people who work there are fantastic. You should call and ask them directly... they'll be straight with you.
Hi... You should call them tomorrow band see if they will take her. I hope so... I moved so I don't have Vicki's number any longer. But I believe if they are not in the office tomorrow nyou can find them at pet smart Arden way. If you can't reach anyone this weekend call on Monday... Everyone should be there then ... Maybe ask for Emily or Vicki...Good luck
Call them
Both the SPCA and the County shelter on Bradshaw have low cost spay/neuter clinics.
I know a lot of Rescues have young volunteers. Check with them-they should be open rest of the week.
Is that a dog? I'm not sure of anywhere but the shelter.
This is a cat only shelter.
Yes it is called catnip in the back I would recommend bringing them in and seeing if they have space
Unfortunately not Happy Tails. Pitbulls are hard to place in any shelter, have you considered training?
I dont know about posting a flyer at happy tails, but may I suggest posting it on nextdoor the website. When someone finds a lost pet they will often post it on that website or check if someone lost a dog that looks like the one they found. I hope I was helpful!
It would be best to call. I think there is very limited space right now for dogs.
I have only seen cats at Happy Tails. I volunteer there. You might call the two pit bull rescues in Sacramento for more info.
Ask a friend or relative to help
It's free!
Awww poor little turtle, but I don't think they would take a turtle. I didn't see other animals there except cats. I have no clue who would take it either, except a vet for exotic animals maybe. Good luck.
There is no fee.
Either Front Street Shelter or S.P.C.A. on Florin Perkins in South Sacramento. Happy Tails only accepts cats. Good luck
Go to Happy Trails, they rescue abandoned and surrendered cats
It's a cat sanctuary but I'm sure many of those items will be welcomed with open arms! I'm sorry for your loss....
I did not have to pay to surrender my kitty. I'm sure it'll be the same with your dog...(Though I'm not sure if it's just a cat sanctuary ) just take him over there and see what they say. If they can't help, just ask if they know of any other sanctuaries that can take in your dog.
Hi. You can start as a jr volunteer at 12. Theres more info on the website.
We only have cats and dogs here, sorry.
Happy Tails is only for cats.
Yes
Do you take cats that have no home
