Feral cats are wild animals basicly and dont do well in an animal shelter. You can imagine how terrified they would be. Also no one comes to a shelter looking for an angry, terrified, snarling cat so these cats are killed in shelters around the country. The modern shelter does what is called TNR which stands for trap, neuter, release. Also checking for feline flv etc and vaccinating while they are at it. Then They are returned to their colony. Its more humane and cuts down on wild kittens and illness.
The shelter would be able to answer that question. Better then I could. They will know what to do about your situation.
They used to have a program that they give you a trap on loan. But on facebook few groups will do it for you have to check
They will also give you a head ache when you try to drop the stray off...
Visit sacferals for information on how to trap cats. Front Street Shelter does not lend or sell traps.
