This is one of my favorite zoos in the world and I could go a million times and still enjoy they feature there! It is a perfect size with lots and lots of wildlife to see. The garden is also very beautiful with a great river view. I recommend coming with family, friends, and your kids.

Riverbanks Zoo & Garden is fabulous! We absolutely love it here and have been visiting regularly for 10+ years. The animal variety is second to none. The layout of the zoo flows very nice to ensure you can enjoy each stop to see all that it offers during your visits. The staff do a great job of keeping the zoo very clean and safe. They are very, attentive, and provide excellent service every time we are there. The expansions keep coming and continue improving and evolving this Zoo into one of the best visits you and your family can make. If I was going to provide a critique, I would recommend more fans through out the park. South Carolina (especially in the midlands) can get very hot and humid during the summer months and that heat can make visiting the park a less than pleasant experience if you are not use to the heat down here (heck even if you are 😂). More fans through out the park would add to the already amazing atmosphere and help create some more much needed cool zones through out. One last add. Please visit during the Halloween and Christmas events. They are fantastic and highly recommended. For adults the Brew at the Zoo is one of the best attractions around. Enjoy!

Awesome place! Lots of animals to see. Good food also. Had a great time. Spent half a day here checking everything out. One section was closed due to construction. I'll be back when it opens though.

The zoo was awesome! There were a lot of nice animals, and the enclosures/habitats were more than adequate for the animals. Healthy animals! My favorite places to visit had the flamingos and the lions. They had a grizzly bear, which I had not seen before. The botanical gardens were nice, as well. Small, but nice. There is a tram that takes you from the zoo to the garden. It took me and my partner about 3.5 hours to do the zoo and the garden.
Thanks! Your review is awaiting moderation.
Yes even if it's raining for example you can still visit indoor exhibits... Some things are closed in the winter like ponies and train but all in all it's good to go year round.
Currently $15.95 - adult, and $13.50 - children. If you by online, you save $2.20. Seniors and military tickets available at ticket office for $14.95. However cheaper if you get online ($13.75). If you plan to go a few times, a membership is you best bet, since individual is $59, family is 99$. I have individual plus one which lets me take anyone into the zoo.
Yes. Even on very busy days, I have always been able to find parking. If the zoo is packed, you may have to park in the parking lot on the other side of the train tracks. If you do, there is a bridge to go up and over the tracks making it a shorter walk to the gate. There is an elevator and stairs for going up and down on each side of the bridge. The elevator is a very nice feature if you're pushing a stroller.
In the summer months they run a Toucan Tuesday ... with 2 cans of food donation, two people can get in for the price of one ! Check website for summer dates !
Over 62 yes and the birthday discount im pretty sure thats a no
Yes there a big parking lot ,they have bus parking so I would think they will have rv parking there
They do have double strollers. I think it's like $11 or so and when you return the stroller you get $5 back
YES!! Purchase them online. We were actually supposed to go on a Saturday, but they sold out and we ended up getting tickets for Sunday. Glad we didn't drive up to purchase them at the gate the day of.
I bought my tickets at the gate. So it's not required to buy them before hand.
Yes they do... I was late 30min and didn't say anything
Yes. They also rent single and double strollers
Yes and it's very very very expensive a drink $6 stop at McDonald's eat, buy the $6 soda with the $1.50 refill get home wash them and put them back in the trunk of the car for next time. Pack a picnic eat it outside the park go back in and have a great time. It's cheaper
Best to call the Zoo and ask 803 779 8717., Pets and companion animals are not allowed at riverbank zoo and garden,Guests whom rely on service dogs are asked to stop by Guest Relations desk prior to entering park to recieve a copy of Riverbank's policy .To view the ADA policy ,please visit the ADA website.
From snacks to meals many stands spread out throughout the zoo
Cheaper to purchase online.it was about $60 for my family which is 2 Adults and 1 child between (2-12)
No but there is a dog Pet Resort about 5 miles away that takes care of your dog for $15 a day
There are picnic areas in multiple places throughout the park, however- you're free to panic anywhere you see fit- but most people I've seen tend to find the aviary the most panic inducing.
There is a special needs day, but not specifically for children. It's for all ages
No vendors, but their own little cafeteria. The zoo have there own little "so called", vendor booths, but mainly drinks. The food to me is really good. Pricey. But good.
Still do it today or they might have Change the rules on that.
They have had plant and bulb sales at certain times of the year in the past...like in the spring and fall. Follow their Facebook page to see when these are happening.
They got boo at the zoo. Just check website for dates and times.
Not officially. But if safety is a concern, know they don't check and I was armed the whole time I was there as well...
Yes I think so. It's an amazing place.
Yes you can rent and you will get the required deposit back upon return of stroller. Found at the gift shop right psst the entrance insde on the left
I guess the zoo Openned today as per the website description. Closed for Thanksgiving and Christmas days. Other special closings may be announced. https://www.riverbanks.org/plan-your-visit/visitor-information
Entry to Waterfall Junction is included with general park admission. Children ages 16 and under must be accompanied by an adult, and kids under 4 must be fully potty trained or wear proper swim diapers to use any water features. Water shoes are recommended for all ages.
The website has ticket pricing. If you have an aquarium membership it's 50% off tickets at the zoo.
Yes there is one make sure you look at the schedule typically done in batches
I would always call ahead with situations like this.
They do. Price is 40 and you get 5 back I think. Wheel Chairs are 8.
Lions, Tigers, Bears (OH MY!), Harbor Seals, Otters, Baboons, etc.
There is a train for children in the farm area but it isn't designed to go around the entire park. There are benches all over the pathways of needed. If you are going to the garden area, there is a train/tram that you can take between the two after you cross the bridge. I prefer walking the nature path to the garden and then taking the tram back.
Adults are $19.95 Children (2-12) are $16.95 People 62 and over are $12.94 Military and their families are also $12.94
I spent about 60 dollars but my children love to eat and wanted to do the Rock climbing which they allowed my oldest one to do multiple times since there wasn't many people there anyways that day and it was near closing time.
It isn't a big zoo like the National Zoo in DC, but it is a great, smaller zoo. The exhibits contain bears, lions gorillas, a house for penguins, and creepy crawling things. We had a great time there and spent 3 or 4 hours taking in all the exhibits.
Hey, they're open every day of the year but Thanksgiving and Christmas.
They have rental wheelchairs by the gift shop right by the entrance
The family pass is $115. You can get an upgrade family pass for $139. Even more family pass for $199. The upgrades offer extras like guess passes, unlimited rides and attractions, Boo at the Zoo, and Lights Before Christmas.
No, but there is a picnic area at the old entrance to the zoo. You can get your hand stamped and re-enter the zoo after eating lunch in the picnic area. As you exit the zoo follow the fence to the left. At the end off the fence is the picnic area.
That type of question should be brought to them. I do not know the answer.
Sure do! They are located in the Riverbanks Conservation Outpost, the tunnel-like exhibit that can be found if you turn left between the gift shop and the sea lion exhibit upon entering the park.
I know its 2 credits=$2 but depending on her age (height) it would only cost the $2. For example:the carousel you have to be either 36/38" to ride and if smaller, an adult has to ride and your only charged $2 for the both of you. Hope this helps!!! Be safe this weekend :)
The website has a list also check with the counties 4-H, they have classes, day camps, and activities for kids.
If you plan on going often I'd look at a year pass. They start at $99 for the family
Yes it is. Every exhibit and even the rides are. It is a great place for all.
You can see the animals good. I will say that it is a small zoo, nothing obviously compared to bigger cities. But it's still fun for kids, especially feeding the giraffes and farm animals
They accept both of them.
Are we asking if the zoo has any hippopotamus' for Christmas? Only a hippopotamus will do? ;) At any rate there hasn't been one at Riverbanks in some time.
Full price. Kids 2 and under are free. $11 if u order in advance and $13 at the gate

It starts at 5pm. They do not allow guest passes this year. However if your guest passes are already in the zoo (prior to 5pm) you can stay for the lights.
Not anymore unfortunately. One passed away so they transferred the remaining elephant to a sanctuary and the exhibit now houses rhinos
I see 2
Adults are 22 and children are 19. Parkings is $5. Individual membership starts at $60 and family memberships starts at $115 and include a free parking.
General admission covers almost everything. There are a few things that cost extra. You have to pay to feed the lorikeets and the giraffes. You have to pay for the train, climbing wall, ropes course, zip line, carousel, and a couple other things I think. If you want to see the animals, the botanical garden, and waterfall junction they're included in the price of admission.
Kids military and elderly
Yes. They've stopped the time restrictions.
$22 for adults $18 for children $2 and under Free #19 Military
What is tram!!!!!! Do not understand what that is
Just a few hours. It's a smaller zoo.
I wore my camera backpack no problem. Since re-admission was a breeze we packed a lunch in the car.
Call the Zoo and ask them. You might be able to use your ticket for another day..
Yes
TIMED TICKETS REQUIRED FOR ENTRY: Face masks also are required in accordance with ordinances issued by the City of Columbia and the City of West Columbia. Learn more about what to expect during your visit. See more at riverbanks.org
You have to wear a mask. There are some people who still seem to refuse, though. There are certain attractions that are closed like the rock wall, the ziplines, and I believe the gorillas. Oh and the water park, too, but it's too cold anyways. Mostly other things are open.
No, it's included in the park entrance fee.
If you are using it to pay for tickets just put the numbers in at the check out screen just as you would if it were a credit card.
I just went Sunday and it was still a fun time for everyone even with some things being closes such as the rock climbing wall and ropes. Carousel is still open and they spray in between use along with spacing out where you can sit. They count people for aquarium and once at capacity you wait to enter but the wait usually isn't long.
The park as well as the Botanical Garden is Open every day for your "Wild Life Adventure" except for Christmas Day as well as Thanksgiving Day unless posted. Please be advised Social Distancing and Face Masks are required within the park. Heads up. Save $5.00 by ordering tickets on line as parking will be assesses if you don't. Thank you for your time and enjoy.
23rd - 30th. Boo at the Zoo.
Yes you can still get tickets at the gate. We purchased ours online and has a specific time to be there.
Coolers are not allowed into the Park
Yes. Open pretty much year-round with only I think one or two days they are actually closed.
Yes
I don't think so but I would check with the zoo.
Adults — $19.95 plus tax Children ages 2–12 — $16.95 plus tax Children younger than 2 — FREE Military (please present military ID at gate) — $17.95 plus tax Senior Citizens (ages 62 and up; please present photo ID at gate) — $17.95 plus tax You can book a time online at their website and you need a facemask for entry and enclosed areas but you can take it off if you are outside and away from large groups. Keep in mind that most of the food options are closed.
Go to the website. You have to reserve tickets and it should show if they are open that night. You also can call guest services.
And
They are open and are very wheelchair friendly
We were 25 minutes early and the let us in. I think the comment about max occupancy is right on.
depends on how you took them
They still have ticket sales as TBD but they do have all of the dates available on their website so you can plan the days you want to attend in advance. You just can not purchase through the website for it just yet
19 adult...and 16 children(2_-12)...i looked for coupons..and none for entrance...i shouldve done the membership..its five of us
No, but check out Lazy 5 Ranch, north of Charlotte for one!
Order tickets online for appointed entrance time. A little less than $20. Military and seniors are discounted
Yes, you have to schedule a time slot online
The statues the kids like to climb on and get pictures with are fenced off too.
I don't know for sure. You might want to call 'em.
That I do not know
To get an accurate schedule for the zoo. Please, go to there website ..
We learned to break it up with nap. It takes half a day. You will caught with snack stands. We have a family pass with free rides well worth the purchase.
Just get the annual pass. You can get one for 2 adults and 2 kids with 6 free passes for friends and family for 115. It's the best deal and well worth it.
There is a senior discount for those 62 & older.
Not sure. Wouldn't hurt to ask
It has electric chairs that you can rent.
There are lots on snack and drink vendors and a sit down restaurant inside the zoo. You can take water bottles and limited snacks. No coolers. We take a bookbag with snacks and drinks and have no prblems. Have fun!
Service dog, yes. Weapons, maybe. I dont see why not if you have a permit to carry.
https://www.riverbanks.org/join-our-team/job-opportunities
Can't answer this question as my friend brings hers with her. Sorry
My family has four children plus the two parents and we have had great success at Riverbanks Zoo with the family pass
The Zoo is closed on Thanksgiving and Christmas. They are open on the 4th of July 9 am- 5 pm.
Call or go on line and check before going on the trip outing.
No. Some things are additional. IDK why everyone is saying Yes. The dinosaur exhibit is extra. The farm is extra. To feed anything is extra. To be inside the bird exhibit is extra. Make sure to check feeding schedule. Most animals were just simply not in their habitat n it may be due to the heat.
It is on your way to the garden. It is in the area by the carasole
Get the membership pass it will be good and that's cheaper then regular price tickets ...the pass will be valid for 1 year.
It will depend on the crowds and the way in which you choose to view the zoo. If you wish to see programs, and it's crowded, allow for several hours. If you wish to just walk through the whole thing, with no time pausing, it could be done within 45 minutes. I believe you would miss the point if you just tried to speed walk it, so allow for several hours. With a two-year-old, we succeeded in a two-hour visit and I felt that we had completed all that she wanted to see.
I'm not sure but I think it is sometime in winter. Sorry I couldn't be more helpful.
Todos los días: General Admission Adults — $19.95 (Save $2 per ticket by purchasing online!) Children (ages 2–12) — $16.95 (Save $2 per ticket by purchasing online!) Children (younger than 2) — FREE Military (with military ID; must be purchased onsite) — $17.95 Senior Citizens (ages 62 and up; must be purchased onsite) — $17.95 Group Admission (15 or more paying individuals) Adults — $16.50 Children (ages 2–12) — $13.50 Children younger than 2 — FREE
I'm not sure about them giving free admissions
It is $16.95 for children ages 2-12 you can save $2 if you order online
It depends the grandparents is the most beneficial in my opinion
You can enter both ways by the zoo or garden and there is a free tram between both.
It is 19.95 for adults and I think if I remember correctly it is 15.00 for kids
Yep. They have a guest relations building right next to the entrance
I'm pretty sure they scan your phone.
If you have a South Carolina aquarium membership, tickets to the zoo are 50% off.
I dis the yearly pass also it was $117.00 or for the four of us it wouldve cost close to 80.00
The short answer is that a safe estimate is around $16-$20 per person over 2 years. Kids 2-12 and under are discounted a little, seniors, vets/military receive a discount. If you buy your passes on their website you can get a discount of 15% so more like $14-17 per person. There is also an option that a lot of families in my daughter's homeschool group use to purchase a membership card. Those run $60 for individuals to 200+. The card comes with free admission unlimited visits for yourself plus a varying number of free guest passes, and some of them include free admission for another adult guest and/or kids under 18 living in your home, wristbands for rides, discounts at the stores and free admissions to seasonal Halloween and Christmas light shows. The $139 option and $199 one are probably the best value if you are going to be there more than twice, or if you have a large family. Plus the kids really like the carousels! Hope that helps.
Adults 19.95 (16.95 if you buy online and print out ticket) Kids 2-12 16.95 (13.95 if online)
According to their website they are only closed on Christmas and Thanksgiving.
~19 for an adult with discounts for seniors, military, groups, and children etc.. Kids under 2 are free I think. Their rates are listed on the website under "plan your visit".
Yes, they do. N.C. membership gets you in for half price. Think I paid $9-10 last time I visited. Occasionally, during off season (& late in the day) they sometimes allow me in @ no charge. Also no charge to visit the Greenville, SC Zoo.
You could also call and speak to Customer Relations
9-5 daily - https://www.riverbanks.org/plan-your-visit/visitor-information
Put in an application online. If they are interested in hiring you then they will call you to set up the interview and tell you where to go.
They are open everyday except Thanksgiving & Christmas (rain or shine)
We bought them with our phone and they scan the eticket directly from it.
You may want to call and ask. Normal hours are 9 to 5.
Yes, 9 AM to 5 PM.
You can pay online. Speeds up the process of getting also, bc there is usually a line to buy tickets that you skip if you pre buy
I was there yesterday and didn't see any signs about weapons.
You are not supposed to, but they don't check bags... So brings small snacks. No coolers though.
There is an aquarium of the local animal life here in South Carolina.
They have something for just about every price range. 15 - 25 seems to be about the sweet spot.
Adults — $19.95 (Save $3 per ticket by purchasing online!) Children (ages 2–12) — $16.95 (Save $3 per ticket by purchasing online!)
Thanks, but, we don't need any additional animals at this time
A zoo is an establishment which maintains a collection of wild animals, typically in a park or gardens, for study, conservation, or display to the public. Humans are the most dangerous thing to the animals and a zoo protects them from us.
No
Yes. They did. They are in a partnership with other zoos across the US where they breed and share their animals.
There were bears at one time.. at my last visit I didn't remember seeing any.
Opening hours Friday9AM–5PM Saturday9AM–5PM Sunday9AM–5PM Monday9AM–5PM Tuesday9AM–5PM Wednesday9AM–5PM Thursday9AM–5PM
I would have to say a annual family pass..
This zoo is better than the National Zoo in Washington D.C.
No. Pony rides are no longer offered. There will be a petting zoo replacing it
160 miles away. 2hr 45min drive from ocean lakes.
Not that I know of but free fridays just started. "Residents of Richland and Lexington counties will receive free admission to the park every Friday during the months of January and February. Guests will be asked to provide a valid driver’s license, property tax statement, or vehicle registration as proof of residency."
Not positive, but think so.
I think there is a door outside of the zoo entrance, yes.
General Admission. Adults — $19.95 (Save $3 per ticket by purchasing online!) Children (ages 2–12) — $16.95
You can upgrade your membership at any time. You will still have the same expiration date. If you used any of your guest passes, we will deduct the ones you have already used from the upgrade.
Yes we have two of them. They are located in the riverbanks conservation outpost.
Yes you do. Go to Guest Relations desk at Main or Garden entrance ticket area. But they can be mailed to you if needed.
So lights is same admission as during the day. If you come at 3 you can stay until 9. We don't close. If they get in for free usually with family plan then yes they can get in for lights too.
The pony rides are being replaced with a petting zoo
We been to the zoo in almost every month and have never been disappointed. About the only thing affected by the cold is the garden.
They have rentals at the gift shop just inside the main gate.
I recently visited the Riverbanks Zoo and on the general admission ticket the operation hours are printed as following: Park Hours 9 am - 5 pm Daily
Service animals only, and they may restrict it to service dogs given the nature of the business but not sure
Do you speak or read English? https://society.riverbanks.org
Yes. Limited availability on a first come first served basis.
Go to the website riverbanks.org at the bottom where it says careers. And you will see our job opportunities that we have available.
Riverbanks asks that you refrain from bringing food into the zoo, there are 3 amazing food areas in the zoo, not only the Tuskers restaurant, the Solo's Cafe, but the newly remodeled Watering hole snack bar and pizza place. There is also a picnic area near the zoo.
No
9am to 6pm
Open at 9 am. Closing times vary. Summer months closimg is usually 6 pm.
9a to 6p. It will be crowded so get here early. Plan for it to be hot too!
My wife is a state employee and it was not offered to us. They do have great deals on memberships, which is really goid if you can go more than once a year.
Yes, one fast food style restaurant wirh burgers and other sandwiches, salads, etc. Snack stands can be found through out the zoo.
I would call the zoo and ask .. we were there for just the day..
They have a place to park busses and motor coaches but not an area that you can actually camp in.
Hi Antoinette! This is on their website. Pets, food, beverages and coolers are not allowed in the park. Riverbanks is a smoke-free facility.
19.95 adult- 16.75 kids at gate, online it takes 3.00 off each ticket
Opens at 9am till 6pm
It was either $12 or $15 for adults. Dont know about kid. We didnt have small kids.
If the zoo follows the same procedure as with the lion cubs, they will hold a vote for the name once they confirm the gender.
Yes. For the latest information on "Rentals" and "Accessibility", visit their website. https://www.riverbanks.org/plan-your-visit/guest-relations
Please have a call with them for the details.
Shouldn't, a friend gave my son for guest passes they had and we used them with no problems without them present.
Contact the zoo office when it opens. They should be able to fix the issue. Enjoy!
Not sure but they should check Google. Note check with library they do in Ga
Not sure,call them
I don't think so however they have a very detailed website.
Yes
Food ranges from pizza, chicken tenders to a great club sandwich. Not sure about the discount for AARP. I would call about that.
Adults — $15.95 (Save $2.20 per ticket by purchasing online!) Children (ages 2–12) — $13.50 (Save $2.25 per ticket by purchasing online!) Children (younger than 2) — FREE Military (with military ID) — $14.95 Senior Citizens (ages 62 and up) — $14.95
I didn't find a place. I just covered up with an extra long beach towel.
They will send you tickets via email and you just show them
I believe those are one time passes if I'm not mistaken. That's on top of those covered under your membership.
Yes to go from zoo to botanical gardens. One out of 3 trams are wheelchair accessible
A bit more respectfully...I would also recommend Google Maps or some other mileage calculator.
I have brought small things (like fruit snack packs) before, but I usually take the kids back out to the car/benches at the entrance if we eat lunch there.
"General Admission. Adults —$15.95 (Save $2.20 per ticket by purchasing online!) Children (ages 2–12) — $13.50 (Save $2.25 per ticket by purchasing online!)". Google Riverbank Zoo Admission for more information & discounts.
The Zoo does have strollers for rent. The single stroller is $8 a double stroller is $11.
There are several places to eat around the zoo. Price wise the pizza place is probably the cheapest. Expect to pay anywhere from $7-11 per person to eat + drinks. You can get ice water for free though!
The website should display this information, along with all ticket prices and group rates. Also check places like groupon for further discounts
My BF and I spent the entire day ... lots to see and enjoy !
Age for children that require tickets is 2-12...ticket cost is $13.50, if you purchase online you save about $2.00
No, but if you visit zoos regularly you might want to purchase a membership
You can purchase a single day ticket, or a season pass. Ticket pricing can be found on the Zoo's website.
Member's night 6-9pm rain or shine
From what i understand...when you order online you have until that date next year to go to the zoo. So if you buy it for tomorrow...you habe until may 16, 2019 to is it
15$ per person
She was born April 2nd...
Yes.. Adults $15.95 and $13.50 for children. Great value for a family day filed with fun for everyone.
The Free Friday is for Lexington and Richland residents. It is only for the months of January and February.
On Fridays in January and February residents of South Carolina get free admission.
I believe the intent is for one family, however as long as you are both listed i dont believe they would ask if you both lived together.
If you purchase child ticket online (2 to 12 years), it will cost you $11.25 including taxes. I would highly recommend unlimited rides and attractions combo pass. Online it will cost you $32 including taxes. It has many kids entertaining activities (unlimited) like pony ride, bird feeding, train ride, carousel etc. My kids loved it.
Family explorer with activity wristbands is $189/year. If you have children who will ride the carousel, train, horses, feed giraffes, and feed lorikeets, I would go with this option. Wristbands with regular admission are $20 each.
I am not sure. I purchased my tickets online, & I didn't see anything in reference to that. I am sure if you contact them they could give you information on that. Sorry I couldn't be of more help.
I really don't no that but it's probably not that much
Yes they are clean and in suitable environment. But what I saw was, most of them looked sleepy and tired.
Yes you can they wont say anything about the bag or water for the formula. Last time i went they didnt even ask to check my bag
2-12 = 13.50. U can save 2.25 by buying ur ticket online
In addition to the standard access and rentals others mention, there's also the tram assist getting to the botanical garden as well as a separate entrance from 378 to the gardens directly.
Kids under 2.free admission, up to 12 ( 12 dollars) i think, adults.about 16 dollars, i believe about 1 or 2 dollars off senior tickets! Worth the money!
A ticket purchased online is good for 12 months from date of purchase. But if you enter the zoo and use the ticket It would be up to them to decide if they would refund the ticket.
Actually called and asked them that yesterday.. It is open year round, never closes.
As a family of 8, we had just purchased $189 package, giving our 4 under 18 entry with us parents. Our other 2 over 18 will use the 12 guest passes that come in package. Package also came with ride passes. There are packages that are definitely smaller down to 99 dollars, with less family and benefits. We definitely have a deal with our size of family.
16 for adults
Adult $16 Kids $13.5
They ask that you don't bring in your own food or drink, but you are able to exit and return unlimited times with your ticket, so you can bring a cooler and leave it in your car. There are water fountains throughout the park.
Saturday 9 AM-5PM Sunday 9 AM-5PM Monday 9 AM-5PM Tuesday 9 AM-5PM Wednesday 9 AM-5PM Thursday 9 AM-5PM Friday 9 AM-5PMkm
Depends on your definition of "a lot". Their prices are on the zoo's website. $2 for the train and up to $80 for the zip line.
I agree with most people, you should go for comfort, but you can wear sandals or whatever shoes you prefer.
Not sure how much but I know they do rent them.
There is a sloth. He is inside the cave with the lemurs and a few other animals. The cave is located next to the gorillas. (There actually may be two in there together.)
It was worth it for my 7 year old girl. She got to ride the rides as many times as she wanted. And feed the animals at the designated feeding times. Its 14.00 for admission for a child and inside you have to buy tickets for the activities. So you'll have to wait in lines. Its just easier to spend the 32.00 which youll end up spending anyway only without the waiting in lines. Youll be able to enjoy the time you have with your 4 year old.
Yeah, general admission is typically around $20 and each attraction runs about $3. And you can't pay cash, you have to put it on a "card." Not sure if the initial purchase costs anything.
According to the website yes the only closing is Thanksgiving and Christmas.
It's the only zoo in columbia 😂😂😂. Like others said, it's gorgeous. A good selection of animals but not as many as other zoos
Yes they are. But you want to be sure you go before they get feed or they are going to be sleeping. I recommend going before noon
More info on their website.
A round 20 or 25 dll's I was There 1 month ago!!
There is a picnic area near the main parking lot, where you can bring your own food and drinks. There are picnic tables, but no restrooms. They also have areas and buildings available for rent inside the zoo for special occasions, they have information online. Riverbanks does not allow pets, food, drinks, coolers, skates or radios in the park. Exceptions to this rule may be granted for guests with special needs. You will need to inquire at the front gate. You can bring a stroller, but you may want to call and confirm about a larger wagon style cart. They do have wheelchairs and strollers that are available for rent at the Riverbanks Gift Shop in the Zoo’s main entry plaza and at the Garden ticket booth. All rentals are first-come, first-served based on availability. No advance reservations are accepted. Single Stroller — $8.00* Double Stroller — $11.00* Wheelchair (manual) — $8.00* Electric Mobility Scooter (limited qty) — $33.00 Military (with military ID) — $14.95
Not sure but likely only service animals. It would probably be best to call and ask
Different times, however the giraffe feeding ends at 1:30 :)
No, minors can get in without an adult. The only things off limits would be any alcohol, obviously.
Too early to say... There is not currently a web cam viewer for any attractions. I doubt it.
Yes, you can get a list with Riverbank membership.
General Admission. Adults —$15.95 (Save $2.20 per ticket by purchasing online!) Children (ages 2–12) —$13.50 (Save $2.25 per ticket by purchasing online!)
They have a whole aviary building including multiple types of tropical birds, birds from Australia, to more exotic things like the previously mentioned Flamingos and Penguins. The birds arent confined to just the one building either. They can be found in each section as the zoo is set up sort of in a manner for each area to encompass a certain part of the world. There is also a walk through interactive area with birds you can feed with sugar water cups for I believe $2 or $4. Its a bit expensive but its an amusement park and its a great interactive way to show folks about these animals. Do remember though that you have to have a preloaded zoo pay card which you can get from various guest services booths as cash is not collected for the additional attractions around the zoo.
Check online you should be able to get a year round pass. I'm not sure on a 2 day I've only bought tickets for the day only.
During the months of January and February, Lexington and Richland County residents can enjoy free Fridays.
They offer free Fridays for Richland and Lexington county residents?
I'm not sure what you mean. Do you mean things like birthdays and such? I believe so, and it was we'll documented in their web page (price ranges per volume of guests and such)
Monday through Sat... But their hours are posted right in google maps.
$11 for adults, $9 for kids 2-12, free for kids under 2. Per the website
I believe its either $12 or $15 per adult...not 100% sure cuz i didnt pay...well worth it cuz tons to see and do
$35.00 plus $5.00 that you get back when you return it.
I believe their hours of operation are the same, 9am-5pm. Plus they have a Lights before Christmas event that night from 5pm-9pm. If they have to do any closures... they'll announce it...but they should be open their normal hours.
They have a website. If the information isn't on there, I would call them. Very worth the visit. Really nice zoo and botanical gardens.
It is open every day except Thanksgiving and Christmas day.
Yes
No only guide dogs are allowed
From what I understand, yes it is, Columbia is one of the best places to see the eclipse & the zoo would be ideal.
They sure do Dawn Abdulmani. They aren't free however. $8 for a manual and $33 for a motorized wheelchair. The zoo is very nice and very accommodating to their guests.
