There is a special needs day, but not specifically for children. It's for all ages
There are no specific special needs days. Special needs groups are encouraged to visit on any day as the zoo is prepared to help any and all guest have a good experience. Those with special needs visit each day. For those who are more sensitive to a lot of activity, it is suggested to visit in the less busy hours that are in the morning on week days. I'm certain that Riverbanks would love to have a special needs day, but are unable to for various reasons. I have seen special needs groups visit the zoo and I'm sure that if you call guest services that they will be able to assist you with more helpful information on having a trip that suits your needs.
