We had a great first visit to this location for breakfast. The selection was good. It wasn't crowded at all. And we had a nice server by the name of Kendrick. He was attentive. And even though it was breakfast, he brought out a birthday dessert for my son. I appreciated that. The breakfast was delicious, the grits were nice and hot, the French toast was fresh. No complaints. I'll be back to try other things most definitely.

Was very disappointed. We've been here several times and never had problems. But when we went they only had one single waitress working the floor and running cash register- with 9 tables and 2 large parties. She was so stressed out and we understood it wasn't her fault, we figured they were short staffed life everywhere else. But she informed us that the manager who was supposed to be there with her is "late" all the time and knowingly leaves her alone. Service was still decent, she was doing her best. But the reason for the 1 star was the food. I hardly ate any...the scrambled eggs weren't cooked, the grits were only hard lumps, there were flies everywhere around the bar, and all of the bacon was burnt. The food at this location is normally great. But not this time.

I come here for breakfast with my girlfriend whenever I go to work/class later in the afternoon. It's really clean and you can tell that the staff works hard! great service and simple and yummy breakfasts to get your day started!!

So I really hate to leave bad reviews so I will start with all of the good stuff first. The staff were phenomenal. I really love their attitudes and attention to comfort. The hostess was extremely polite. The waiter was funny with a good sense of humor, he wasn't our waiter, I noticed him from afar. My waitress was very tentative and prepared for anything. The cleanliness was superb. Unfortunately the breakfast that we had was horrible. I enjoyed the French toast and that was it. The eggs were not consistent. The bacon was burnt and hard. The "chicken tenders" we're so hard I made a drum line beat on the table to intentionally break it and I still failed, they wouldn't break and I was really trying. The cheese grits tasted like it had accent salt in it but I just know it didn't, the cheese wasn't evenly spread throughout the grits. Last but not least, leaving out of the restaurant I realized they had a 'B' rating on the door. It was kind of depressing knowing all of these wonderful waitresses, waiter and hostess work here, but the food was trash.

Before leaving an establishment and your service and/or food was not satisfactory, speak with management about your concerns to get an acceptable resolution.
Of the times we have been there, the breakfast/lunch bar was open. A person may take their pick of which one they want. Believe the bar closes at 2:00 P.M. - I may be wrong on the exact hour. Always well cooked food, plenty of variety in the salad bar, and, desert, too. Please give them a try. :)
The breakfast was not good the bacon was over cooked not a good selection of food. Don't waste your money eating at Shines.

I agree. Food isn't that great, oh wait, what Food? The food bar took forever to be restocked. At $17.00 a plate, I remembered why we never came here. No thank you. Never again.
