They don't follow the same rules

There is a certain way of speaking to others, especially when you are seeking assistance. The kindness and understanding comes with patience and with genuine communication. I brought a friend over here for the resources to help him. Ms. Collins at the lobby booth, and the supervisor Aquilla, provided my friend and I nothing more than just that! I am very grateful and I wish them both the same kindness and warm karma three fold.

Wow. Not sure. If you can call 311 (in NYC). Ask them everything you can and who else you might be able to call. My goodness! I wish I knew more, to help. But I will pray that he is ok and you find him soon. What is his name? - if you don't mind posting it cuz I WILL ask everyone I see!. Also you may want to ask if anyone can help you find a place to make flyers. Heck ID even walk into copy shops and ask them to donate 20-25. By now?I hope you've been reunited. Im praying you were
I would not recommend taking him to HRA Men's Shelter you can call 311 to find out a better place for him
Absolutely, instead of getting help its like a jail in there, my friend was a medical student and working fulltime, couldn't sleep and the food they provided was nasty and old it makes no sense. Its not easy for anyone working or not its hell in there.
You are welcome
Because your employed you will take precedence over those stilllooking forwork. Go to the intake shelter and check in. Get placed and follow the procedure
What’s your son name?
As far as I know, you would have to talk with a case manager at shelter about that but they still have to do an assessment first
We are here to help you.
Yes it is and usually its just one day , it all depends on the availability of places ,I was there one night , then got transfer to schwarz on Randalls Island where I got assessed , I was there a week and after I got sent to a hotel in midtown Manhattan ,
Don't know but if you able to work you wont stay at Bellevue long...day or two at most. You will be transferred elsewhere quick unless you have med or mental needs.
Nyc has the best shelter system. This shelter can help but stay to yourself and if possible try to inquire about READY WILLING AND ABLE
D train to 155 street and walk across the street to the gated entrance
It takes about 10 hours. Proof you need help. Birth certificate. Social security or green card. Then you get a bed.
You Have To Have I.D. On You When You Get To The Shelter and Then They Will Go From there.
Now. Anytime between 8am and 4pm. Cause its a waiting process. Its the best time
English please
Yes you allowed cell phones in this charging stations on each floor
Yes it's true, however you would need to go to a Family shelter which are indeed far better. You can 311 for information on family shelters that fit your needs or visit online by searching nearby family shelters in NYC.
You can also use the general post office on 29th Street and 8th avenue Manhattan show ID homeless mail
Don't know 😕
Go to 30th street and sign in you will have a bed and a shower tonight .Its about a 5 hour wait
Thieves don't care if they're or aren't any cameras
Hi the number is 212-701-4367
Sometime the shelter staff can help you find a place or talk with a real estate agent that is knowledgeable with voucher programs
Yes but you need a letter from a physician stating you have serious health problems
"...I hear the shelter is putting people in hotels. Is that true?..." Based on my personal experience, you have to be processed in the system. Being assigned a hotel bed comes AFTER you've completed the assessment stage of your case evaluation. IMPORTANT POINTS: * You will be sharing a room. * Some of the hotel features will be removed. (Desks, chairs, shower soap dispenser, etc... * Beds will (probably) be foldable travel beds * Some shelter features will remain (bed checks, security checks when entering, etc... * Some shelter noises will remain (slamming doors, loud conversations in the hallways, etc...
I went there for intake for adult families it seemed pretty good long as you have a picture ID state issued I really don't know about just the mens part but they say if you don't have a picture ID they will help you get it
I will try
Yes there is case worker 💪
Yes ... you can enter for a second time ... but I recommend Velvue shelter in Manhattan
If you're in NYC men shelter 400east 30 street NYC 10016
You can come to 400 e 30th st . Bellevue men's shelter
You need to have a domestic partnership certificate in order to be 2gether in the shelter
Yes they do
No. This is only a shelter.
What time do parolees have to be in?
If you think he is in NYC I would call Bellevue shelter first. Thats where most people go to until the get transferred to another shelter. It the intake center. Good luck
If you have anymore questions please feel free to ask.
It's a walk in..they will take you in and assign you a shelter..there are good ones and there are really bad ones just pray you get a good one like hotels are the best...but you start in Bellevue on 30th st Manhattan...good luck...just don't become a parasite of the system..use the time that you're gonna be in there to get back on your feet..find a job or go back to school!!
Find out what his #HA NUMBER IS And ask what SHELTER, they transfer him to;😎 ask to speak with the Director of 400 E 30th St.
I don't know but you can talk to your case manager
Here is the trick to be transferred to another shelter...you have to go to The Coalition of the Homeless 129 Fulton St...9am sharp...you will sit down with workers who will try to resolve the issue of the shelter being biased to you...you can also contact 33 Beaver St...DHS Headquarters and explain...good luck
Just call and ask. If they dont have beds at this place and you're in need of a place to stay they put you up. It's mostly a long wait but worth it
Just tell them your situation, and it'll go from there, bring your necessary papers, ID, birth certificate, social security card, and other forms of identification. After all that, they will transfer you to an assessment shelter, then a permanent shelter, where the staff there will help you however way they can to get you up on your feet, the more you do to help them help you, the better. Just be very careful with whatever valuables you bring, if you can afford storage, it'll be best kept there, especially when it's close to winter and crazy things happen during those times.
Absolutely just walk in there explain them the situation and that's it..i think it would take around a week or so 400 E 30th st NYC 10016
You might need help with behavioral mental health departments first. Call 311 first.
Call three one wants to get more information about missing persons
Go to 30th street shelter on 1st ave.
Mario, you are a fool! They rob you anywhere if you let yourself.
This can and will help people with mental health issues as long as they are able to physically take care of themselves.
The 6 train to 28
No overnights out! But you can get a late pass for work.
In my honest opinion they are not very helpful at all its more like a prison than a shelter
Yes they help you but that don't mean they going to do all the work for you they show you everything you need you have to do some work yourself too
It's a all men's shelter but they have shelter for couples at other facility it's really a intake shelter
Fill out paperwork and go threw metal detectors and deal with rude staff that have very bad attitudes
possibly
Id
If it's your first time I guess so
They can ALWAYS use clothing, especially now during the winter months
Yes its possible just have id
Please make sure that he has all of his documents, and yes just drop him off at 30th street men's shelter,he will have a bed tonight.
No!Bedford and Atlantic Ave has an all single men shelter.
In the new world , if you have a phone you can search for almost anything..
Humble yourself , the shelter is there to help you help yourself . Alot of people think that the shelter worker's are supposed to do everything for them, they are there to give you information, that YOU must apply.
You have to go through Bellevue to get an assessment. And then you go to 110st for quartine for covid 2 days. And then you are free for ready willing able.
Yes you can
Nope
Yes! As long as you have the papers stating that it is a service Dog 🐕.
Your best option is the 30th street men's shelter, make sure that you have all of your ID.
I went through there in 1 day on to the next shelter
I'm sorry I don't know about the men's shelter, I went to the family shelter.
Your social security number or your nyc id or New york state id is all good forms of id to enter the shelter. Yes they mainly go by your social. So no worries.
You would have to go to bellvue mens shelter and talk to the staff there . You can call but its not as effective. They have hippa codes. Its much better if you come in person
No not really,, just keep to yourself and you'll be fine
Anything can help them even a simple good morning can
Yes, of course! They should be able to accommodate you immediately! Good luck!
The processing center at 400 E. 30th Street, N.Y., N.Y. will have a bed that very night until they place him permanently. Good luck!
The address is 400 East 30th Street, NYC, NY 10016. The Shelter is stationed on First Avenue.
If you are looking for housing, I am a realtor please give me a call at (888) 276-0630 ext: 1430. I look forward to working with you.
I don't understand the question what type of help are you looking for
Wii it would be very hard cause they, meaning the staff at any shelter r not supposed to give any info on anyone stay there good luck
They're open 24hrs, and they'll set you up overnight if you don't make it by 2pm than you'll do the Full intake in the morning
Nope
Seems u will get a place to sleep. The pain is going through the process But u should get a bed the day you come
Go to 400 east 30th street, Bellview hospital was converted into the intake for singles and families... just have ss card, id and bc if you got it...
The one in Queens if you can. It is at Holiday Inn Express I believe was how I got help.
My suggestion is that you move to another location and different parole office will be on til the 27 th because Manhattan sucks
Yes
I think you would have to call the general number for that information.
30th Street and first Ave. Bellevue men's shelter. That's the first step. Go there I have been through process as well. Not so bad
U have 2 call 311 or go to community organizations to ask about programs available.
Yes you can. If you're not married. Then you have to have or obtain a domestic partnership in order to enter and receive services as a couple
Online
As long as you need
He needs to go to his parole officer first and then they will make sure that he knows what he got to do but be careful there is a lot of stuff that can cause him to end up back in the box as long as he stays focus he will be fine
Yes we take couples but only 4 assessments. Then couples are transferred to a different facility
You wont get thru if you call. The ataff never answers the phone
Quite quick anywhere between a week or two to a few months. In some cases tho it can be longer you will be prioritised.
Absolutely go in the morning if you can
How about placing a call to HRA and forwarding you question, "SIMPLE".
I THINK THEY WOULD LET YOU STAY THERE.
Go to the HRA men's shelter and they will tell you
It's for all I believe. I get clients from all parts of New York.
JUST GO TO THE SHELTER AND GET PROCESS.THE SAME NITE YOU WILL RECIEVE A BED AND A MEAL !
Like it's been stated, it's a process. Paper work, to paper trail.
Bed check is at 10pm. You must sign between 830pm and 10 and be at your bed at 10. But you can leave after 2am and come back
The Bellevue MEN'S SHELTER IT'S 24hrs and they will help you with your problem, best of luck bring some I.D.
It depends on what you did,1year and make sure it's not a crime!
you better ask lawyer
Thank you Ernest Miller Jr for the direct response! Much appreciated
Go to the 30th street and 1st men's intake shelter they will sort you out.
I think it would be better if you say that you're family and want to look out for each other because i dont think they care about agreement!!..I'm not trying to be rude..but you're dealing with DHS they don't care too much about anything!!
I recommend contacting the organization directly.
Yes, but more than likely it fails to meet nutritional requirements. I did a lot of advocate work on this, "that's why I have been blacklisted on housing all these years", for helping others.** Not in the system now..... it's a threat to my personal safety.**
My son is CHRIS & he's 26 yrs of age? Why how about you!
Can the shelter mail his ID to him in MDC?
Absolutely or domestic partnership like mines
You can leave i believe at 5:00 am or whatever time you start to work..and you got till 10:00 at night to b back in the shelter if you have to stay the night out you work that out with your case manager..there you go!!
You do not need a job or welfare to stay
Possibly with a picture on the id
Hell no..
Yes!let him go 2 30th street Men Shelter intake,He will go and get evaluated!from there,he will know what he has 2 do! Don't bring, no drugs no weapons and nothing that he wants 2 keep!ask questions from his caseworker!be honest, this will help. And don't get locked up, because it want help, be careful of what you say and do! God bless him and you!
#6 train to 23 Street Park Ave. Walk or take the crosstown bus to first Ave.
FAMILY SHELTER = BENEFITS
Yes,We do they do,please come n get evaluated ASAP!
You can walk in you have to go to a walk in process depending what time you go they do give you a bed it takes a little while then the next workng day you see a case worker they help with housing its not a right away process it takes time but they at least try to help with the papereork. Depends on the persons situation ehat help is offered. They also give meals at location
Chances are that you'll be moved from an assessment shelter to a working shelter.
OF COURSE 10:PM! Unless u have a pass 4 work/(r)overnight reason,[oF COURSE]!
This is no such thing as check out it's not a hotel it's not a resort it's a men's shelter I've never been in that facility I can speak on 21-10 Borden Ave lic N.Y. 11101 filled with miscreants degenerates violent sex offenders junkies crackheads I mean just yesterday I was looking at the New York State sexual offenders list while getting some ice water and I turn to my left and the actual person who I was looking at was standing next to me I mean it's a world of psychotropic drugs and illicit street drugs come together mica . But like every situation I maintain and Triumph because the same boiling water that softens the potatoes Harden the egg it's. What You're Made Of not the circumstances 👌
Not sure call 311 for more info
But wpuld they be able send me the the back too work is call the doe found inc.
I take the 6 train to 28th station and change to 1st avenue and 30th street
Its where the men live..but couples with a partnership like me and my man go to bellvue intake....we did the same thing going to afic..they should have explained to yall like they did us...afic is only where u go when yall already got a room and r having complaints bout it..u go to afic to complain and try get different housing....but to start the process of getting into the system yall gotta go to bellvue with ur partnership paperwork and ids...after few hoursss theyll send u to a different building for couples....do it it's worth it
I don't know where your husband is but the rule is usually they expect you to save 60% of your income either in a bank or on post office money orders signed with his name to save with the shelter supposedly in a safe. He gets the money when he finds a place to move into or if he leaves the shelter entirely. In no way is your husband supposed to hand his pay stub to anyone
In some shelters, they only take a third of the paycheck but this only to put it aside for when you get your apartment, once you do find a place to live through their system, they'll give whatever you put in the shelter, just present them a copy of the lease.
Good morning, as far as I know she still works there but not sure what shift
Get here any time. During the day is better you have more staff to help process you in. Depending on your situation if you are working for example they put you up in a hotel room most of the time. Just don't let them send you to Ward's Island I heard it's a horror show over there. Good luck
Its correct confidentiality...butt..call and have him tell his worker they can meet with u..maybe yall all meet together ya know? Ur best bet is always call and contact them
Usually, they take 1/3rd of the check to save for an apartment after moving on out of the shelter, but not all shelters are the same, have him contact his appointed case worker.
Well he can come back inside but he'll have to wait until a bed is available, he broke curfew so they took his bed and put his belongings to a safe place until he returns. Assuming you're saying that he left the shelter.
Yes call 311..go online or to hra
They offer work..school..housing opportunities...ur best bet is to look online and or call them
Go to a shelter (but be careful!!), after the process and after they put you to a proper shelter, not an assessment shelter, apply in a NYCHA office, and let them know you're homeless, give them your info. This process however takes a long time to get to a NYCHA apartment, like @Vayamon Norris, I too placed and application with them and still my status is pending for a review. Sorry for your status as well.
You definitely need some sort of id, social security card, birth certificate, NYC or other state id, or passport, if none, you need to apply for one albeit hard, they'll still take you in in such emergency.
Yep depends on were you go
Yes you can, just be careful, don't carry anything important.
Well is not gonna b a 5 stars hotel but is better than the streets!! You keep to yourself and do you!!
All he have to do is walk in they will interview him kind of asessment and from there according to hes needs meaning if he got some fisicals condition they'll send him to the shelter that fits him the best where even can get his own room or apartment..this is not an overnight thing is gonna take from 3 to 6 month but they help you get back on your feets
Just go nothing needed open 247
THEY HAVE A GAY SHELTER IN THE BRONX 186 WASHINGTON AVE
Beaty yes you can work and stay there the best case worker there is mr z and ms you can't go wrong with them two
You have to get there personal
First of all good evening and second i practically grew up in the shelter system so being that i have never before even heard of the place your referring too i strongly advise you to please just carefully do your research about this place before you make any sudden moves about anything regardless of what you may have already heard from the next individual cause just because people say things....don't always exactly mean its the truth ......this is your life .....your situation pray about it and take it from there okay later for some dam good luck God performs miracles he's not nor have he ever been a little leprechaun so i wish you all the very beat and God bless you to make the right decision
I don't know I did not have anything to put in storage at that time in a men's shelter
Hi it's if you have proper ID you can basically go anywhere a Care number I do not know anything about that not familiar with that type of terminology
All he has to do is show up at the shelter on east 30th street with identification. He will see an intake worker and answer basic questions. Most likely he would be placed in a room at that location temporarily until he sees the social worker and then would be placed at a different shelter anywhere in New York City. Over the course of the first 10 days they doing investigation make sure that there's no place he can go to stay such as friends and family. Since you're his mother, There is a good chance they will come and speak to you and ask you if he can stay there. Make sure you give a good reason why he can't stay there or they'll deny his case and then he will have to start over and apply again, and start the process over again.
Explain your situation to case manager asc on unit ask for transfer
Bellevue and 430 East in Manhattan they are the same rasistas bad administration
He can go to the Homeless Outreach Team Bronx Works. I'm not sure what city you live in. You can google it, call and explain what it is your seeing assistance for and they can most likely help it direct you to the help you need. Many blessings.
Proof of eviction like court papers/Marshall lockout papers. Letter from someone if they let you stay there but they can't anymore. Any thing you can think of. Cuz if you don't have it thats when they'll want it.
6 to 8 month or maybe even 1or 2 years
Call 311 they can give you better information to help him out and find a place for him
If married no problem just bring proof! If you're not married you're in the same boat as I am get there very early I think it's 7 in the morning they will give you a referral to another place and downtown which my boyfriend and I did at the same time the second group of people will give you a money order for $35 for you too then go to a third place in Manhattan to register as domestic partners that way you can be put in a room together rather than its separate places otherwise you could be split up in one shelter or actually sent to two different shelters. If I can find the names of the places I will come back here and edit the post and to give you the names and phone numbers for that too. Good luck! But don't be worry you'll make it through
How long before you receive your covis test
Thank u for replying...but at the time as of right now i am homeless cold and restless and would like to know if i can honestly and really come in as of right now because i am walking from Manhattan NYC and dont not need to be rejected if i make this walkso is it ok if i begin walking too come seek shelter for tonight
Yes
Call 311 or look it up online.
Rite now it's getting cold and the shelter is getting crowded . I advise you come inn in the morning to sign up , they dont give out beds until around 12am in the morning. You dont have to hang around after you did you intake.
Yes they do find a place for you but you would have to put forth some effort in looking for a place.
Yes you can shower there and they would search anything that you bring in there to make sure that there is nothing Sharp
When I was at the shelter it wasn't all men shelter they was only accepting couples and it's not a woman shelter not unless they change things since the last time I was there
Yes 24 hours 7 days a week
