Yes, they will help those with mental health issues, when you get to an assessment shelter, tell them your situation, the medication you take for your mental health (as well as any and all forms of ID), and then in a few weeks they will either transfer you to a mental health shelter, or find you level 2 or above housing, depending on how fast this process goes, you'll need a form called a psychosocial and a psych-eval to be completed by the therapist and a psychiatrist assigned to you, or whoever is attending you at the hospital where you are getting treatment.
