A 24 year old is an ADULT. There are numerous shelters for adults as well as many organizations to assist homeless adults. At this point in your life, you should have completed your education, have a job, and be able to find your own place to live. It's hard, but not impossible. And for all you haters out there, I worked for Covenant House and in a MICA (Mentally ill Chemically Addicted) Shelter. I've also been homeless.

All shelters are some form or help just to be sure that you review your need and fit yourself with the best location. If you are looking for more of a responsible crowd try the churches. Gayle Wilson I personally use motel and hotel before dealing with the shelter system. Keep me posted I will do what ever I can. Trust me I know the feeling of lost and no place to go. But no worries there are places , safe haven is help people. If you have insurance most insurance qualify for help with shelters.

Where are you because there are numerous places you can go to. I work at Sylvia's place for LGBTQ people for up to ages 25 located at 446 w 36th street. Theres also Main Chance, the Ali Forney Center, Marshas Place, and many others

What do you mean by "household stuff?" Covenant House needs and accepts donations of shoes and clothing, not "household stuff." Please contact them directly and make arrangements for a donation.

YOU DO NOT NEED ANY DOCUMENTATION TO BEGIN THE INTAKE PROCESS. GO IMMEDIATELY IF YOU NEED A PLACE TO STAY. COVENANT HOUSE STAFF WILL THEN WORK WITH YOU TO OBTAIN ANY DOCUMENTS THAT YOU NEED. THEY WILL EVEN ESCORT YOU TO A FORMER RESIDENCE TO PICK UP CLOTHING OR DOCUMENTS IF YOU ARE FEARFUL OF GOING ALONE

A smaller shelter without curfew. Just like a studio and you pay a little rent based on your income. This end result will only materialize if you obey the rules, follow all your appointments respect staff and your fellow residents. You can get your GED there If you don't have. You can train to become security guard, CNA/ Nursing Assistant and house keeper. All these are all free.

They offer GED program, they have on sight Clinic, job readiness, Nurses aid, College admissions trips, security training any licensing , house keeping training, mother and child program, children nursing for young mothers who are either working or going to school and they also help with housing. Youth can only achieve most of what Covenant house have to offer if he or she obey rules, respect other youths and staff.and no stealing

If you are under 21 of age.. and you are homeless.. anything is better then being in the streets.. they give you meals for you to eat a roof over your head.. you can take a shower. Clothes. They help you with a lot about you becoming independent and living a better life.They have a policy you must follow if you are not working.. but if you want to change your life this might be an option.. on so many levels.. mental and physical support.

Why do you need to know how the intake process operates? If you are in need of assistance, and are between 16 and 21, just show up and you will be helped.

You just need to be between the ages of 16 and 21.

Covenant does not have special activities that require volunteers on Thanksgiving Day.
