Criteria? Single women, single Moms, etc.? Must they be DHS referred?

DHS has to refer you to almost any NYC shelter. Exceptions are DV shelters whetein you can be referred by a private/different company or HRA. This shelter houses families & single parents w/ children. The staff are helpful and mannerable. So yes, in answer to your question DHS has to refer you here. It's a Tier 2 shelter.

This is NOT a MICA shelter, 😂. MICA shelters house individuals with mental illness and/or chemical abuse.
