Just tell them your situation, and it'll go from there, bring your necessary papers, ID, birth certificate, social security card, and other forms of identification. After all that, they will transfer you to an assessment shelter, then a permanent shelter, where the staff there will help you however way they can to get you up on your feet, the more you do to help them help you, the better. Just be very careful with whatever valuables you bring, if you can afford storage, it'll be best kept there, especially when it's close to winter and crazy things happen during those times.
But for the most part once you get there you need to help yourself dude..they will give you roof that you need the rest is on you..like going to school or getting a job..you need to get yourself out of the shelter!!
