San Antonio Humane Society takes great care of animals and sells them to people who need a pet!

I was skeptical about using the Humane Society to have my pup Neutered but they did an amazing job. Cost 3 times less than the vet and offered pain meds at a very low cost. Just be ready the morning they open up appointments and sign up quickly.

Animal Control Officers r Great a stray dog was in my yard n bite my thumb off n they were at my home fast after I got home from Hospital🌷

All the volunteers were so helpful and informative. You can tell everybody really cares for the animals they're watching over and the animals themselves looked so happy
Thanks! Your review is awaiting moderation.
Being a no kill non profit, with limited staff, we get hundreds of phone calls every day, so it can be hard to get through at times. We answer the phone whenever possible between 12-7pm. If you leave a voice mail or send an email we will get back as soon as possible. Thanks

The little town Bandera has a horse rescue organization
I have a full blood German Shepherd if still interested. He has all shots and in Triflixes. He’s 7 mos
Consider having you dogs spayed and/or neutered to prevent more litters winding up for adoption. Please be a responsible pet owner, there are free service for low income.
They do have a separate bldg. for puppies/sm. breeds. Give them a call they're very helpful. I liked the size, choice, and cleanliness of each building.
Yes there is , you can check out their website for more information.
If the humane society doesn't have room, consider finding a rescue.
I have a beautiful little cat I just found. Seems friendly if anyone is interested.
We have one location 4804 Fredericksburg Rd. where we adopt out our pets, see SAhumane.org. We also operate the Brooks Spay/Neuter Clinic (spay/neuter and wellness clinics only) on 8034 City Base Landing.
Yes
Contact the San Antonio Feral Cat Coalition. Sanantonioferalcats.com they have a training video and you can get an approved trap for cats. Right now they are taking up to a total of 15 cats on Monday, but they must be one per trap and they must be in an approved trap.
The information we have available on each pet is listed on SAhumane.org/dogs and SAhumane.org/cats. For the pets that stay with us a while we are able to provide in depth pet descriptions to. But as a non profit no kill shelter we have limited staff. You are welcome to call us or email us, and if we can answer your questions we will. You are also welcome to come visit our pets and meet with them directly, no description or info will replace meeting the pet you're interested in (it's also required if you are going to adopt, we do not adopt out any pet to anyone that has not spent time with the pet beforehand). We are open every day from 12-7 p.m., why don't you come visit the pets instead? Thanks
Please see SAhumane.org/receiving for all our info on how to surrender a pet. Thanks
I am sorry, I have no idea what they have I am just a spay, neuter customer, trying to keep neighborhood cat population down. Best advice is just go to Fredericksburg Rd location and look. They have a puppy room, a friend of mine found her new friend there a baby Chihuahua, do not ask other people go visit and see who melts your heart.
Try the humane society I got my dog there about a month ago and he is absolutely the best dog I have ever had.....
a
Please see SAhumane.org/spayneuter for all of our information and how to sign up (we are fully booked for June).
Sorry Steve, why so much what exactly? You're always welcome to compare our prices of our adoption package, wellness, spay/neuter services to other shelters or veterinary offices. As a non profit we provide the services we can to the lowest cost that we can to operate. Thanks
Hi Alicia, No unfortunately we do not at this time. Thanks
Hi Michele, We are fully booked for the month of October. Our November dates will open up on October 25th at midnight (when the 24th turns into the 25th). We usually fill up an entire months appointment within hours.
Our phones are working, but we get hundreds of phone calls and voicemails every day so it can be hard to get through at times. For all of our info see SAhumane.org
Yes adoptions are possible. Simply fill out the application on their website. And they will call you usually within 48 hours.
You can visit one of our wellness clinics (SAhumane.org/wellness-clinic) for low cost vaccinations, and schedule spay/neuter via SAhumane.org/spayneuter.
I've used a debit card and cash. Never had a problem. No worries.
We are not in Windcrest, you'd have to ask the city of Windcrest http://www.ci.windcrest.tx.us/ For the city of San Antonio. Leashing and Control. All dogs must be confined to their owner's property at all times except when on a leash. Animal Care Officers have the legal authority to enter unenclosed front yards of private property to impound unrestrained animals. Info taken from the city of San Antonio - https://www.sanantonio.gov/Portals/0/Files/AnimalCare/BrochureLibrary/AnimalCodes-Overview.pdf
Hi, We do have them at times, but they get adopted really fast. Keep an eye on SAhumane.org/dogs, that page gets updated as soon as a new pup comes our way. Thanks
At this place or the other location on base. Just give them a call. They'll give you everything you need to know.
Is he still available
Hi, Please see SAhumane.org/receiving for all of our information on how to surrender them to us.
Hi, I'm so sorry you are no longer able to keep him. Please see SAhumane.org/receiving for all of our information on how to surrender a pet. Thanks
Hi Teresa, For more info on where to look and post found pets see SAhumane.org/found. To get the dog to us, please see SAhumane.org/receiving. Thanks for looking after our furry friends.
U call animal rescue 311 I think. It's better for YOU to try to rescue her though. Others will call to put her down.
The majority of the times the kittens will need to be 7 to 8 weeks old in order to be adopted! No earlier ... Due to the kittens being fed properly with kitten milk.
Also, unless you have our own place, you also need permission of the person/family where you live.
I don't know when this was posted so let me know if you still have the dog and tell me something about it. Male, female? Neutered/spayed? Size? Used to living indoors or outdoors? Good with other animals? Full lab or mixed? etc.
I think there is a website called pet finder where you can do that.
If there is a specific dog breed you question then search low energy dog breeds and look on the website if there are dogs with low energy's
Are they still available?
To get the dog to us see SAhumane.org/receiving. Thanks for looking after our furry friends. For places to look and post found/lost dogs see SAhumane.org/lost.
You might want to call them or go to the location
SAHS has designated receiving days, the next one being Friday. Since it's a no kill shelter, it's on a first come, first serve basis. You can find out more on the website https://sahumane.org/receiving
They are really bad at answering the phone but you can schedule your spay/neuter online at: https://sahumane.org/spay-a-neuter#schedule-your-pet-s-spay-neuter-appointment-here Hurry, they fill up quick and only allow you to see the schedule one month and a time.
What kind of breed is it? Im looking for a small dog. I cant have a big dog at my apartment.
Yes they do, as for help you"d need to call them to ask for more resources on applying for help
@Michelle Romero What’s the status on the animal abuse situation.
You would have to call them or go by. They would be able to tell you very nice staff.
What does she look like?
Not free but at a very reasonable price compared to other places
There are some Chihuahuas you just have to check they go fast.
Ck spca n newspaper
Sometimes but not often. The animals are strays, transfers from other shelters, or owner surrenders. The inventory, for lack of a better word, changes depending on what animals need shelter.
Yes! As soon as a dog becomes available it'll be visible on SAhumane.org/dogs. We do have a lot of dogs waiting to be cleared and for their S/N surgeries so the list will grow in the next few days.
Hi! Please see SAhumane.org/receiving for all of our intake information.
Just for shots, you shouldn't have to pay that much . I've been going to a mobile clinic which it's the best, some people may think as soon as they hear mobile but it's really a good place to go for vaccines, the vet Dr Pinney is a really good vet . They set up at Lockhill pet and feed store on Huebner road on weekends.
Hi Maxi! Thanks for reaching out, we are so sorry you have to surrender them. Please see SAhumane.org/receiving on how to proceed with getting them to us.
Please see SAhumane.org/receiving on how to surrender a pet to the SAHS.
Surrender Fees: In order to help offset the cost of pet care while in the shelter, we require a receiving fee at the time of surrender. This fee is based on the pet’s age, species, and any additional required testing. Puppies/Kittens 3.5 months of age and under: $35/appointment (visit) Puppies/Dogs 4 months of age and over: $35 Kittens/Cats 4 months of age and over: $35 Additional Fees: Required Parvo Test for puppies under 1 year old: $29/test (pricing varies for litters) Are appointments required to surrender a pet? Appointments are required if you are attempting to Return a pet, Transfer an animal from another organization, or Surrender a dog over 20 pounds. See below for contact info. Please note, an e-mail request does not guarantee an appointment or intake.
They are not open to the public for vet care. Depending on where you live they do have some scattered vets that offer low cost Animal Care. The humane society is one that is at Fredericksburg and 410. One on rigsby near WW White. Others you have to live in their area like Kirby Animal Hospital, schertz Animal Hospital, live oak Animal Hospital.
Thanks for looking after our furry friends. We don't, just dogs and cats like Caitlin mentioned. I'd recommend trying - https://txferretrescue.org/
You can email the Animal Defense League intake and see if you can schedule an appointment to surrender them. Only thing is is they all charge. You could try a shelter near you. The only place that will put them down is animal control services. ACS. The humane society does not and neither does the Animal Defense League.
Hi Patricia, You find all that info on SAhumane.org/wellness-clinic (on the wellness clinic form)
No. They appt out pets that have been surrendered at animal shelters.
You are welcome to come visit us (no fees), we are open from 12-7pm every day of the week (closed on major holidays). At this time we don't have any scheduled guided tours.

Hi Vera, To surrender the puppies to us please see SAhumane.org/receiving for all of our information on how to and when. Thanks

If it's court ordered service hours we would need to know what rate the court is requiring you to pay.
Ca them.
Yes but you have to schedule when they can take them
Thanks for looking after our furry friends! For more info on where to look and post about lost/found pets see SAhumane.org/lost. Also, for our information on how to surrender a pet see SAhumane.org/receiving.
I'm pretty sure they don't. U may try a pet or feed stire

Hi Sierra, Our intake team has to meet and evaluate every pet before we can say if we can take them in. For all of our intake information please see SAhumane.org/receiving.

Hi Michael! Yes, if we have space or a foster family available. For all of our information on how to surrender a pet see SAhumane.org/receiving. Cats/Kittens: Open intake for cats, and kittens are only held on Mondays at 10 a.m. at the SAHS. There is a limit of 3 adult cats per person during open intake. We are able to receive animals on a first come, first served basis until all available space has been filled or until 2 p.m. (whichever comes first). The line is usually long by 10am so I'd recommend to come as early as possible.
Hi! Thank you for thinking of us. We can take opened dry food.
We open admission for cats and kittens on Mondays starting at 10 a.m. in SAHS. We can receive animals on a first-come, first-served basis until all available space has been filled or until 2 p.m. (whatever comes first). There is a limit of 3 adult cats per person during open intake. Kittens must be at least 8 weeks old and weigh 2 pounds in order for us to foster them without having a host family available. We often have a house full of cats, so keep an eye on SAhumane.org/receiving for updates and all of our intake information. Although admission begins at 10 a.m. Thanks,
SA Humane Society does spay/neuter and wellness. They do not euthanize for the public. You need to see a private vet. Sorry.

Yes, we had a 2 months old puppy named Donut that aired on KSAT. Donut found a new home though. For all currently available pups see SAhumane.org/dogs.
Hi. The San Antonio Humane Society rents humane traps for those looking to find a way to transport feral cats for the TNR program that is safe for humans and cats alike. Rental fee is $15 for ten days, with a $100 deposit refundable upon return of the trap. Call 210-226-7461 for more information on renting a humane trap. To spay/neuter a feral cat is $51, for all spay/neuter info please see SAhumane.org/spayneuter Thanks
Every monday morning they have a cat surrender. But I recommend showing up around 5 or 6 am because the line gets long and they fill capacity pretty quickly
Please see SAhumane.org/receiving for all of our information on how to surrender a pet. Thanks
We are open 12-7pm every day of the week.
We have a full house at this this time, please see SAhumane.org/receiving for all of our information on how to surrender a pet.

Yes, our pets would love the visit :). If you are looking to volunteer, see SAhumane.org/volunteer.
Tanya I will pray that you find that baby a good home.
This is the best place to give your dog up to in my opinion I just adopted a sweet Pitbull from here and see is adapting to her new life amazingly I promise you won't be disappointed
Hi Diana, No we only have dogs and cats. We would recommend that you reach out to Alamo City House Rabbits to see if they can assist.
I didn't have that issue. I don't think it's your contact information, it may be based on your ip address
That would be our President/CEO - Nancy F. May. See SAhumane.org for all of our information.
It's really easy to get an appointment. Simply click interested on any photo, fill an application, and they will contact you for an appointment. The only thing is, you only have an hour.
Hi Duck Duck Goose, we are still closed to the public due to occupancy guidelines, but do everything curbside. You find all of our information on our website SAhumane.org! Right now we are doing no contact adoptions see - https://sahumane.org/no-contact-adoptions To view all of our dogs see SAhumane.org/dogs and all cats on SAhumane.org/cats, you also find the adoption process on those pages.
Hi! What kind of appointment are you referring to? If you are looking to adopt a pet, we are currently only able to do no contact adoptions due to occupancy guidelines - https://sahumane.org/no-contact-adoptions. For your pets spay/neuter surgeries, an appointment is required. To surrender a pet, an appointment is required. For our wellness clinics it's first come first served. Thanks
Yes
Could you specify more about what type of revoking programs you are referring to?
Hi Bexley, We are so sorry to hear that. For all cats at our shelter see SAhumane.org/cats. For more info on lost cats see SAhumane.org/lost. We would also recommend that you reach out to the city shelter Animal Care Services, and any other shelter around the city.
Best of luck😮😮🤞
Hi Mary, We are so sorry to hear that. We are only able to do preventative services so unfortunately we cannot help you. We would recommend that you contact some other veterinarians to get a quote on the cost. Also, you can reach out to Daisy Cares (https://daisycares.com/) to see if they can assist with some of the cost. We hope your dog feel better soon!
They post the calendar for the next month on the 25th. They only have a limited number of appointments, so you'll need to check on the 25th to get an appointment slot for the next month. If there aren't any appointments it means they're already booked for the next month, unfortunately.
We are not able to provide veterinary services, only preventative services, please contact your local veterinarian or pet ER as soon as possible.
Thanks for looking after our furry friends! For more information on lost/found pets see SAhumane.org/lost. If you want to check if the dog has a microchip you can do that for free at any veterinary office. We don't know of any free clinics to check/ up on the dog. We offer low cost wellness clinics though, see SAhumane.org/wellness-clinic for that info.
I have been using the same vet for 19 years. They are on hwy 181 near FM 775. (On the way to Floresville. Animal crossing. I wouldnt go anywhere else. There is a SNAP office on the access road of 410 between ingram and Culebra...same side of 410 as ingram mall. The do low cost spray and neuter....dont know about their prices.....they are not so great in returning phone calls but do see pets in on appointment basis. May wa t to give them a try.
Thanks for looking after our furry friends Rachel! We have a full house at the moment, so many cats/kittens out there this year. But email our foster team (include photos and as much info as possible) to see if we have any fosters available. You find the info on SAhumane.org/foster. Otherwise you can try to reach out to Wayward Whiskers to see if they are able to assist, other options could be ADL, SNIPSA, or SA Pets Alive.
They are there but the doors are locked. I would suggest leaving a voicemail or sending an email. Maybe they can send you the record via email. When I adopted a puppy from there the immunization record was included with the adoption paperwork. If you go there and knock on the door, they will answer but I'm not sure they will provide you with what you need on the spot.
Yes you just have to see when they are holding one
See all of our wellness clinic info, including schedule, on SAhumane.org/wellness-clinic.
Hi Rose, I'm so sorry about that situation. Unfortunately we are not able to board public pets at our shelter. We would recommend a dog boarding facility.
You contact the microchip company directly. If it's one of our chips the company is https://www.24petwatch.com/
We have just started to bring back a limited number of volunteers, but hopefully we will be able to start accepting new volunteers soon. Keep an eye on SAhumane.org/volunteer for all of our volunteer related info.
Hi, The SAHS can accept general volunteers as young as 16 years of age. For all of our volunteer info see SAhumane.org/volunteer.
Hi! The Brooks Spay/Neuter Clinic (part of the SA Humane Society) is the only location fixing pets. ( see below info for feral cats). Depending on your zip code, you may qualify for free services. Here is the website: https://sahumane.org/spay-a-neuter If you are seeking to spay/neuter a feral cat, please visit: https://sanantonioferalcats.org Keep in mind, in order to trap and neuter/spay feral cats at the humane society, you will need to attend an orientation class and borrow a trap. The services will then total $25. Let me know if you have any more questions!
Yes, we would love to have it! We have a donation bin outside our front door between 12-6pm every day where you can drop it off. If the bin isn't there, please leave it in a bag by the front door and our staff will get it. Thank you!
Hi Rachel, It sounds like they might be more feral. We would recommend that you contact the SA Feral Cat Coalition https://sanantonioferalcats.org/ to see if they can assist.
I'm so sorry to hear that Melinda :(! Yes, we would make good use of those supplies. We have a donation bin outside our front door from 12-6pm every day.
Unfortunately we don't have space for any more cats/kittens at this time. Hopefully soon. There are so many cats/kittens out there this year :(.
Schedule an appointment via SAhumane.org/spayneuter. We only open up appointments for one month at a time, July is fully booked, the appointments for August will open up at 12.01am on the 25th of July. Thanks
Thanks for looking after our furry friends Alyssa. Unfortunately we are not able to take in/schedule appointments for any more cats/kittens at this time. There are so many cats and kittens out there this year :(. Hopefully that will change soon though.
You need to call, they only accept certain weights of dogs at certain times. Depending on the breed, you can check with local rescues. From what i understand the Humane Society isn't accepting any animals right now.. You can check with God's Dogs Rescue, they are one of the best around...
Thanks for looking after our furry friends! Unfortunately we are not able to take in any new cats/kittens at this time, hopefully soon! There are SO many cats/kittens out there this year :(. When we are though, this is our information on how to surrender a pet - SAhumane.org/receiving. If you didn't already, you can also check with Wayward Whiskers (https://www.wayward-whiskers-cat-rescue.org/) if they are able to assist at this time.
Cost of Spay/Neuter surgery: Dogs Female 0-25 pounds: $71.00 26-50 pounds: $93.00 51-75 pounds: $105.00 Over 75 pounds: $129.00 Male 0-25 pounds: $68.00 26-50 pounds: $78.00 51-75 pounds: $95.00 Over 75 pounds: $110.00 We are fully booked for the month of July. We'll open up August dates on July 25 just after midnight. SAhumane.org/spayneuter
You can buy while you are at the wellness clinics (curbside), or you can order online via https://sahumane.org/prevention-form. Thanks
It depends on how many applications that comes in around the same time. Our adoption team goes through the applications and respond as they come in. Thanks
As of 2 days ago, no - they are doing adoptions but under a no-contact policy detailed on their website.
I like to use the word adoption vs for sale... I'm not sure they're even open to the public right now. They typically rehome at $150
Out of an abundance of caution and in order to ensure the safety and health of our staff, volunteers and members of our community, we are closed to the general public effective immediately until further notice. Our staff will be at the shelter taking care of our pets who remain our highest priority. Volunteers are being notified and asked to refrain from volunteering until we reopen.
We don't right now, but keep an eye on SAhumane.org/dogs, every once in a while we do get Pomeranians.
Good question!! I actually do not know. I would ask for management and if no help contact humane society on Fred Rd
There are some animals that have had their fee paid in full. Simply ask which ones have been sponsored and they will guide you from there.
Hello Magdalena! For all of our information on how to volunteer see SAhumane.org/volunteer.
Keep an eye on SAhumane.org/dogs, that page lists all our currently available dogs, and it gets updated as soon as a new dog is available.
You'd have the best looking at local breed rescues if you want a specific type of dog. Best of luck!
Sorry, we do not at this time.
It would be $25 per dog. For all of our info on how to surrender please see SAhumane.org/receiving.
Thanks for looking after our furry friends! Please see SAhumane.org/receiving for all of our information on how to surrender a pet to us.
For our current positions see https://sahumane.org/employment. Thanks
See SAhumane.org/receiving for all of our information on how to surrender a pet. Thanks
Try another shelter in town. I'm already over my limit with rescues.
Hi, I'm sorry to hear about the dog mom. Please see SAhumane.org/receiving on how to surrender them to us! Thanks
Thanks for looking after our furry friends! Please see SAhumane.org/receiving on how to proceed with getting the kitty to us.
This is a place to ask other customers about how their experience was, not a way to contact the company. This is clearly explained, but obviously you're too lazy to read. Please call the number on the companies website/Google page.
Keep an eye on SAhumane.org/dogs for all our currently available dogs. Thanks
Hi, For all of our information on how to volunteer and how to sign up see SAhumane.org/volunteer. The SAHS asks that general volunteers be able to commit to at least one volunteer shift per month for a minimum of six months. Our general volunteer program is open to individuals as young as 12 years of age however, anyone between the ages of 12 and 15 must be accompanied by a parent/guardian volunteer at all times.
Not sure what their current capacity is.
Keep an eye on SAhumane.org/dogs, that page gets updated as soon as a new pup comes our way.
Yes he is still there and he is waiting for you to take him home today.
It would be better if you call them, that way. You would know.
The SA Food Bank offer pet food whenever possible.
Call Animal Care Services, @ 311. They can help you or at least give you some direction.
No, volunteers do not get paid. For all of our volunteer information see SAhumane.org/volunteer. Thanks
Hi! For all our volunteer information and to apply please see SAhumane.org/volunteer. Thanks
For all available dogs at the SAHS see SAhumane.org/dogs, that page gets updated as soon as a new pup comes our way.
Please call 311 and ask for an animal cruelty investigator.
Always take your pets to a veterinarian when concerned for their health. Here's a video on how to take care of newborn puppies https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tHpnzOXcAIE.
Yes!
I am certain they would appreciate those items. That is really nice of you. Although, I cannot give you a definite answer on whether they can accept them.
We are so sorry to hear that. We are non profit shelter, so we do not have any legal means to intervene. In the city of SA it would be the Animal Care Services that handles cruelty cases. It was correct to call your local law enforcement.
We are open from 12-7 p.m. every day, we do get hundreds of phone calls during our opening hours so it can be hard to get through at times.
Hi Cathy, We are so sorry to hear that, our condolences! To surrender your cats, for all that information please see SAhumane.org/receiving.
Both of the locations. See SAhumane.org/spayneuter for all that information. Thanks
Not at the moment, please keep an eye on SAhumane.org/dogs for a list of all currently available dogs. Thanks
Check in can take up to two hours dependent on where you are in line. Staff will definitely assist in handling your animal. For simplicity sake and not to stress out your animal, the pet can stay in the car while you wait in line and fill out paperwork. Then when staff call for your pet you can let them know you need help and he’s in the car and we will retrieve the animal for you.
I think it's free to drop them of but you just have to ask the person in the front and they will tell you what to do.
We only have dogs and cats.
Not right now, keep an eye on SAhumane.org/dogs to see all of our currently available dogs. Thanks
Not at that moment, but they have new pups daily.
Yes, for all our currently available dogs see SAhumane.org/dogs Thanks
Yes, we actually require that you spend time with the pet you're looking to adopt.
All dogs are listed on SAhumane.org/dogs. I would also recommend that you check the city shelter, Animal Care Services.
If the dog do not have access to any cover, please call 311 and ask to speak to an animal cruelty investigator.

Please take the puppy to a veterinary clinic, we are only able to provide preventative services during our wellness clinics.
The reason why I asked is cause I don't have a car and transportation is hard to come by.
If the relatives gave you the dog, please see SAhumane.org/receiving for all the information on how to surrender a pet.
It's $15 during our wellness clinics - https://sahumane.org/wellness-clinic
You may want to stay with the poodle type, because the Australian breed or lab mixes are diggers and runners so they won't do well in an apartment setting.
Hello, no the SAHS only provide spay/neuter for dogs and cats.
We usually do. Take a look at SAhumane.org/dogs for all our currently available pups. That page gets updated as soon as a new pup comes our way. Thanks
Yes, take a look at all the services we can provide during our wellness clinics - https://sahumane.org/wellness-clinic
Take a look at Current Promotions - Zip Code Grant - SAhumane.org/spayneuter to see if you qualify.
For the wellness clinic at our shelter on Fredericksburg Rd, it's 8am-12pm (noon), and at our Brooks Spay/Neuter Clinic its' from 9.30am-2.30pm. First come first serve. For all of our wellness clinic info see SAhumane.org/wellness-clinic. Thanks
About 80 to 150 dollars per animal depending on the size of the dogs!!
Are they still available?
There is no way to track him. But if found and he is taken to a vet and they scan him then the vet will contact the humane society and they will let you know where he is at. Otherwise if he is not scanned then there is no way to get him back. I'm sorry I hope you find him.
Hi, I'm so sorry to hear that you can't keep your cat. Please see all our information on how to surrender a pet on SAhumane.org/receiving. We only offer free spay/neuter surgeries when it's funded by a grant, such as the zip code grant. For all that info see SAhumane.org/spayneuter. We offer low cost low income wellness clinics, you find that info on SAhumane.org/wellness-clinic. For assistance with pet food, you would have to contact/visit the SA Food Bank. Thanks
I would call 311 so they can direct you to the right place

First of all....the kittens need the milk of their mother....they are newly born kittens....why take away the kittens from their mama cat!! Unless The Humane Society has a brilliant idea in feeding MILK TO NEWLY BORN KITTENS! Don't neglect the mama cat neither!! 🐱🐈🐈🐈🐈
Please call 311 and ask for an animal cruelty investigator
You must make an appointment, there is a receiving fee. Not sure the price though!
No but they often give you coupons for some
Acs is a high kill shelter , owner surrendered dogs can be killed immediately
Petsmart /banfield hospital

They're be a line of people n they usually open the door where it says INTAKE DOOR N Staff members will let you in on a brief presentation ...
You'll have to call and ask. You can also call a few vet offices, they will sometimes take them or let you post a flyer in the lobby. Animal Defense League is an option too
Look daily
I ' m sorry , no , i don't
Yes they do have them. My experience is they are great indoors and seemed to be their preference. Lol

Did the place you took her to send the tumor samples to a lab to see if they are malignant or benign? I recommend Vet Ranch

I'd give them a call to be sure.
I'm not sure. Check with different vet's to see if they can offer a solution!!!
True. The website has a virtual shelter you can keep an eye on, but you're best bet is to call before noon to see if there are kittens and get there right when they open at noon so you're first in line to see what's available.
ACS has a lot of Rottweiler puppies and dogs! I was there yesterday and they have them. There are a few puppies being treated for ringworm too.
Look on 5he website or even better go to the shelter
What kind of puppys are they? Im looking for a small dog. I can't have a big dog at my apartment.
Yes. Call humane society first or animal defense league. He will get a great home from a no kill shelter..
It depends on the number of foster homes that are available. You can find more information at www.sahumane.org/foster
No
They don't receive specific breeds. You'll have to go see who they've received, or taken into due to surrenders, seizures, and abandonment.
This is Ysidro Rodriquez, I have been there n I didn't see any kittens. That was 2 weeks ago . Sorry.
There will be a standard adoption fee as well as any special fees. They will have their shots and they will be neutered or spayed before they can be adopted.
It's a Felony to leave a dog or cat on premises of the HUMANE Society..Cuz like she said n myself leaving a dog or any animal out in the freezing weather is against the law...And leaving any animal tied to a tree or any where outside or backyard ...front yard tied to anything YOU will get caught cuz its animal a Cruelty n abuse or abandon!!
See SAhumane.org/receiving for all our info on how to surrender pets. In short for cats: Puppies - Small Breed Adult Dogs (under 20lbs) – Cats – Kittens Open intake for puppies, small breed adult dogs, cats, and kittens are held Mondays, and Fridays beginning at 10 a.m. at the SAHS. Actually, Sherry, the SAHS IS a NO-KILL shelter. They do not euthanize animals based on time or space. Jacqueline, you can go to their website www.sahumane.org and refer to their receiving protocols and criteria for intake. They only intake from the public on certain days and it's based on the space they have available. Space is made by adopting out animals ONLY. Since they don't euthanize, space typically fills up very quickly, so you want to make sure to get there super early.
You need to go in and see who they've taken in to know who they might have. The puppies that they do have are surrenders or abandoned and are completely random breeds.
Send me a picture of him post a pic.
Yes
If you reside within certain zip codes, they do offer either free or costs that are even further reduced than normal. Their website has a link to the current zip code list. However, all others would pay their normal prices.
Is this cat still available and is it a girl?
You can also look at the website to see what dogs they have at the moment
Idk if they pick up. You might have to take her in yourself because there's paperwork to complete. Best thing: call and the details. (I'm a cat person.)
They are barking for a reason. The shelters are really full. If they are pure bred, you might find a specific breed rescue. Dogs require alot of attention, specifically daily walks like 30-45 mins. You can hire a dog Walker, just refrain from trying different breeds looking for a different outcome. Best of luck.
Well if it waz my pet i would really look at his nial under a brifht light , either- hes sensitive or doesn't like the feeling that runs threw his body ,,sooo.,if his a inside pet soak his feet in warm soaping water then with the tool that women use for callus under there feet ,well whill there soaking rubb very slow motion from top only three times then give small treat.repeat
Yes, they have puppies. Breeds depend on intake and no, you can't call to see what they have. Wednesdays are good days for puppies.
Still available?
Ill go save it
I have a German Shepard that needs a home. The owner was letting her go for I don't know what reason. And so we thought of taking her. But not unfortunately we can't keep her. She is 6 months now. We need to shelter as soon as possible. If not does anyone know of anyone wanting a German Shepard for free.
You'll have to go there and look at all the dogs you can also look at their website to find all the small dogs
HELLO. I AM TRYING TO FIND A PLACE FOR MY SENIOR DOG. HE IS A 12YR. OLD MINIATURE POODLE. HE HAS A COLLAPSED TRACHES LOW IN HIS CHEST CLOSER TO THE LUNGS AND WOULD BE A VERY EXPENSIVE AND RISKY SURGERY. I HAVE BEEN CARING FOR HIM HERE AT HOME, BUT I WAS HOPING TO FIND A FOSTER OR PROGRAM WILLING TO TAKE HIM AND GIVE HIM THE MEDICAL CARE HE NEEDS. I ONLY WANT WHATS BEST FOR HIM. I HAVE ONLY HAD HIM FOR 5WKS. I ADOPTED HIM FROM ADL WITH INFORMATION THAT HE WAS HEALTHY. ON THAT DAY HIS HAD A COUGH AND IT HAS BECOME WORSE AND WORSE AND DEFFICULTY BREATHING.
Their intake days are Monday Wednesday and Friday until 2 p.m. but also give them a call to make sure that they have room
They dont, that's the city your thinking of.
No
They have to be 2 lbs for intake. Contact a feral group
I gave a black kitten 2 months old. His mom is a long hair domestic and dad is short hair. So I'm waiting to see how he turns out. If your f2f can give him a forever home, I'm willing to meet up.
I am just someone leaving my rating..you need to call the Society during office hours to find out. And you might try the Animal Defense League on Naco Perrin I believe. Good luck!
There intake days are Monday Wednesday and Friday I would also give them a call
Call them, also call animal control
Wellness clinic schedules are posted online. Get there early, .
You can fill 9ut the volunteer application online too!
Losing a pet is difficult. I lost my chihuahua and terrior within a couple months of each other. Don't get another chihuahua until you are absolutely ready.
Wrong place
There are some pets that have been sponsored and the adoption fee is waved. However pets are very expensive and a $50 adoption fee is not much in comparison to the cost of caring for one. Anywhere that cares for their animals will not give them away for free. Good luck!
Puppies 7 months and under are 135 adult dogs 8 months and over our 50
Don't know but its not cheap. To take cat it...
Depending on their intake, they MIGHT have miniature dogs. You'll find plenty of medium dogs at SAHS though.
Not here they can, call directly,
Maybe call the city on this one.
Yes, go to the volunteer page on their website
The website has pictures and breeds
I think mine is a Chihuahua not sure if full blood. male black with white at feet.
Yes they do. There is a volunteer fee but they have a page on their website for info
The website shows pictures of available animals
There is a rodent rescue in Lewisville if you wanted to contact them - Texas Rustlers. Craigslist or Facebook is good for rehoming animals, just be very careful who you give them to. Small rodents and animals may end up being used as snake food 😔
You should check fb and or Craigslist. However Im sure will cost you $200-$400 USD. You then can take to our Humane Society for shots update, chip and spayed or neutered for a very low price. THIS is your best choice considering you want this specific breed. Remember this is a LIFE investment that will be part of family up to 20 years! So price is minimal considering what this awesome loyal beautiful dog will bring you. BTW- You really dont want a Breaded puppy like a Chicken Mcnugget. Ha Ha. Good Luck!
their inventory changes daily. they won't respond via Google. it's best to go in person
Take him to a vet asap so that they can take care of the wounds properly.
How much r u asking for her.I had dog that passed 3 years ago a. Chihuahuas help my asthma
They will definitely take her back, just don't expect refund
Aww... Take them to the humane society they will take excellent care of them and they will find a loving home for them.
Hi Elizabeth...that's a great question 👍 I'd call/stop by ASAP so if they keep a list your name can be at the top. Wishing you luck 🍀 in finding your special fuzzy wuzzy love bug Maltese 😀
Check their website because they updated daily as well as call or go by and see
Yes, their cats are screened and their information is available. Ask a volunteer for help when you visit
Didn't see one there
Animal care services also offer these services.
You can just give them a call.
I have Chihuahua pups 7 months old
Give them a call or take her in. Have have seen them drop them off.
The dogs I saw were all mixed breed and none had any chow in them. There were a few mixed breed german shepards.
Hello Dariana ☺ It's probably best to directly contact the center for details. That way you will all ready be signed up as a volunteer. Have fun with all the fuzzy wuzzy dogs & cats 👍😺🐶
Hi Dariana: I've always reached someone helpful whenever I've called them with questions. Have fun and thanks for your gift of time as a volunteer 👍☺😺🐶
No. That is why we should support them. They are a no kill facility.
Still available? What breed?
I think drop off days are mon, wed and Fri, first come first serve. Once they fill up they obviously can't take any more. I'm pretty sure there's a surrender fee as well. Their website should have all this information as well.
They will need everything from formula, blankets, etc....
I don't remember seeing a white husky. I'm sure they didn't caused that would have stuck with me. I just love with dogs.
Shawn Mills is absolutely right...stop by for a visit and you might just find your "puuurrrfect" furry roommate 🐺🐱😀
Ill check later on today to see if maybe they have one🐶
They are always looking for volunteers....go to the website
They have very helpful staff who would be more than happy to respond to your request...suggest giving them a call. 😀
Hi Walsh Kids 😀 Call for details as soon as possible so you can be on the top of their list 👍 Have fun! 🐶🐱
Okay thank you
Yeah you definetly can!
Actually a pet could have the same quality of life if the owner is willing to keep providing. Having a child shouldn't change the situation of care. Would you give up a older child if you were having another? Probably not but since you posted here call the human society to set of they have openings. They put an alert out for foster homes asap to prevent euthanizing current dogs and cats.
Humane society should take the puppy. Call 311 for their number or simply Google it.
Just call the Humane Society & tell them u r looking for a forever home for your German Shepherd. They will tell u what to do.
Above answer is correct.
Service dog training depends on what type of service dog you need. You can Google local service dog training facilities in Texas.
Wrap your nude dog in a jumbo tortilla.
Call 311 file a report they'll take it from there but be aware animal control decides if that pet would be put down either immediately or with in 3 days. That cry may be am indicating the animal is sick or injured.
They want you to play with the animals. Go have fun.
Humane society told us that they are a wellness clinic providing shots, heart worm prevention. Neutering, But if they are sick we are told to take them to the vet. I was informed san antonio has dog rescue/refuge centers or call the city of san antonio
This isn't necessarily a kill shelter but they will euthanize your pet after a certain amount of time if they don't find an adequate home for them. They do give you the option to get your pet back if you don't want them to be euthanized.
Great thank ypu2
SAHS is a No Kill Zone
If there is space, yes.
Check the website to see the dogs that they have
Please call animal control or the spca directly to have someone come get her, someone will help you so she doesn't have to be alone and you won't have to worry about her safety. Good luck.
During their operating hours
The Humane society should be able to take her in and give her the help that she needs. Giving her proper attention and care. Helping her heal and be more comfortable. Before putting her up for adoption. To hopefully find her a forever home. Just call them, explain the situation. They should take her in.
4804 Fredericksburg Rd, San Antonio, TX 78229.
When you surrender your pet, they'll ask you for info so that he/she is placed in the best home. If your cat likes to be outdoors, you'll tell them that then. You'll need to schedule an appt. (There's usually a short waiting list.) You'll also need to pay a small fee to cover part of the expenses of caring for your cat.
You would really need to call your local facility to find out.
Hello! The cost to spay her would be $68.
You can go online at sahumane, org and see pictures of all the pets they have available for adoption... They keep it pretty updated. You can also go in and walk through to see which pets are available for adopt. The kennel cards tell you what they know about the pet and their breed. It's really an awesome shelter!
Maybe try calling the humane society and see if they can assist you with filling out the application over the phone. Or go in and do it in person? Sorry that's not much of an answer, but hopefully it helps.
I think it was a weekend special that they sometimes do. Call them and check to see if It's still going on!
Hi Sarahi, I don't know the answer to this, but if you check their website, they have a listing of most of the animals they have available for adoption!
Their website has a sortable listing of most of the animals they have. Checking there or calling them would be your best bets.
If you check their website, you can find a listing of all the animals they have for adoption. 🙂
Their website has listings of most of the animals they have who are up for adoption, you may find your answer there!
They didn't when I adopted my boy, I'm sure their resources are limited so it's probably hard to do that with every adoption.
They always have room. They'll make it work.
I know if the animals are adopted from them they do all that. But call them to see
It's humane society. If you want a specific breed you're at the mercy of what they have available. The humane society has tons of options and great dogs available that all need loving homes.
All depends with age and breed. Puppies are about $100+ older dogs about $40-$60. BUT, if the dog is a full bred. They are considered ambassador pets and much more expensive. Their prices sometimes vary. Usually starting at $250 and up
No. They DO cover the cost of heartworm treatment for heartworm positive pets at SAHS, even after adoption. If you search online, there are a few groups set up for people in your situation.
Agreed, call ahead and ensure that they can accept the animal. Remember dumping animals is illegal.
It's easier to find the info on the website since the office staff are stretched. Total cost is $35 (for background check and first year's insurance), and there's an orientation to attend. Younger volunteers can participate with a parent.
There is a sign on the side that says dumping animals is illegal. And they have cameras outside. Coordinate it with them.
If you have found a stray dog, definitely bring the dog into a facility of your choice and ask them if this is a no-kill shelter. You do not want to leave an animal at a facility that will euthanize the animal. Also why don't you put an ad in the paper for a free dog or cat?
This is a review area for them. Those types of questions need to be directed to them directly. They have a lot of info on their site.
I just realized you meant the cost of getting neutered, not adoption. I'm not sure of the cost but they do offer affordable options and I believe they work with certain situations for cost assistance.
You'll have to contact them from their website. The answers here are not from them directly.
Definitely check the rules and contact them. It is illegal in Texas to dump am animal. Leaving at that location well result in legal issues.
It depends on the type, gender and size of your animal, they have the prices on the website after you pick the location of the surgery. They do offer zip code grants for surgeries, so i would also check those out. They are listed on the website but limited to a certain number of people and zip codes. Saturday surgeries depend on the schedule that they have for appointments and vary by location.
I live in a senior apt an found a lab puppy.I can't keep her.Can you all take her in.
Please take your cat to the nearest vetrenary clinic and be responsible owner.
I don't work there but i know you can check periodically through the week puppies go quick and some days are better than others to find just rescued puppies you should go look one day and ask what days are good. 👍
