With the tickete, you can enter 3 attractions without having to pay anything, it is only in the Mad Dogs (the restaurant) where the taxa of the food are paid.
Its really simple to use. I loaded them on my phone and just showed it at the ticket windows. They scan it and it keeps track of how many attractions you use. We bought the 5 attractions pass and used it at Sea World, the Zoo, Ripley's, The Caverns (which are amzing) and Tower of America. Saved a ton of money and had a blast.
