Best place in town to get good customer service & plant and landscaping advice. Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Local nursery founded in 1938. We’ve gotten veggies, lemon tree, soil and flowers.
Daniel Anderson
One of San Antonio's best garden centers. I was able to find lettuce, spinach, cabbage, & broccoli for my vegetable garden. I also found great flowers for my fall flower garden. Great service and very reasonable prices.
Jose L Rodriguez
Excellent Garden Center! We always find what we need!
Michael Estrada
I think the guys name was Glen he helped me out a lot, I would’ve had to watch four hours of YouTube videos to get the knowledge he gave me in five minutes. I believe my fruit trees are going to finally be producing now

Yes they do. They have citronella, which we bought 4 of!
We normally do but we sold out of them early this year and due to a shortage there will be no more till next year.
Yes

Anyone can attend but the seminars might not hold a young childs attention very long. Most seminars are about 1 to 1-1/2 hours long. The Fruit tree and grafting seminars can be up to 3 hours long. Have a plan "B" in case they get bored.
They have a small greenhouse dedicated to cacti and succulents.
Sorry Ada, we do not sell air plants. We do have lots of other plants to offer you in our 10 acre nursery.
Cheaper up front, no, you can certainly find cheaper stuff at a big box place. But it will almost certainly be cheaper in the long run. The plants and seeds we've gotten are healthier, the soil is better - we have yet to get something from here that's died on us, whereas plenty of Home Depot or Walmart plants give up the ghost a few weeks in.
Sorry, we don't carry Gordon apple trees.
I have not seen any there
We sell Espoma Raised bed mix in a 1.5cuft bag for $14.99 each. No bulk soil.
We do not carry them as it would be illegal to sell citrus scion. The Texas Department of Agriculture has strict guidelines on citrus trees and scions. If you want to buy some go to this web site for more information. https://www.tamuk.edu/agriculture/institutes-and-other-units/citr/budwood.html
The nursery has decomposed granite for most of its walkways and people with scooters get around very well. If there is anything you need for us pick up for you just ask one of our staff. We have two dedicated handicap parking spots by the entrance or you can park at the end of the street where our entrance is only 50ft away and have plenty of room for a ramp or hoist. Avoid the overflow parking lot across the street as it has larger gravel and can be bumpy to ride on.
We have a 10 acre nursery with a variety of plants that perform well in our region. We carry some native plants and many other drought tolerant plants. To appreciate what we have you need to come by and visit us on day. Wr are open 7 days a week, 8:30am to 5pm
We are sold out at this time. Check back with us next month to see if any more have come in.
We normally do but we are sold out and so far we have not seen any available to buy right now. It might be closer to fall before more trees can be acquired. They typically come in a 5 gallon pot and sell for $39.99 each.
Now right now but there are some on order for this week. Check back on Friday to see what comes in.
We have 3 white and 2 yellow left in 5 gallon pots for $49.99 each.
We carry them but we are currently sold out. Try back at a later date to see if any more come in.

Leave it till the end of April as it still could sprout higher up. After May 1st then prune off any dead wood.
Get them while they have them because they go fast.
Yes. Banana trees are shallow rooted and you shouldn't have any problems growing one. Remember to only dig your holes as deep as the rootball and twice as wide. Mix some compost 50/50 with the native soil and plant the tree with the rootball level with the existing soil line.
There are several varieties to choose from. 1 gallons are $24.99 and 5 gallons are $39.99.

Sorry, We don't sell that particular plant.
There are many choices but I would say the La Feliciana peach, Burgundy plum and Fan-stil pear would be my first choices. Your chill hour range is between 300 to 550 so if you look at our Fruit tree guide from our web site you will see a lot more options. Go to www.Fanicknursery.com and click on the green menu bar under "Downloads and guides", click on Fruit tree guide.
I would like to add a note to the owners response. We are from the surrounding area and shop at fanicks regularly. It is well worth the extra miles. The staff is always helpful and if they aren't sure of the answer they will get someone who does know. They will research an item for you and try to help you get exactly what you want. I was looking for a particular plant that I was unable to find but they took the time to research and work with me to find something that would work for me. They will be able to help you with your tree search.
I am unsure if they plant them for you, but they have a huge variety. I am also unsure if this is the best time of the year for planting trees
Sorry, we do not provide that service. Contact a landscaping company as they can help you with your inquiry. C & R Lawncare and Landscaping is one we normally recommend as they have a good reputation. Their number is 210-655-9610
Sorry, we do not carry that variety.
I would say your best bet is to call them. At different times of year and season they have different things
I havent seen bonzai trees here but they do have venus fly traps or bugbats near the checkout at times!

Thank you for your help I really appreciate Mike Fanick.

This is an old-school nursery. People here have been there since b4 computers were invented. Please have some respect for a place that has been there longer than you have been alive. Besides once you go you will understand the magic of this place.
We received our houseplants last month. We have a large assortment and they sre spectacular. Come by soon as they are going fast.

This place is lower than other nurseries. They offer suggestions on landscapers. Your best bet is to call for specifics on what you are looking for and cost.
Fanick's accepts all SAWS vouchers, coupons, etc. Each SAWS offer includes a list of who accepts them, and Fanick's always is on that list. They work ahead to stock as many of the qualifying items as reasonable
I would call Fanicks directly to get information like that .
We have clumping bamboo in 5 gallon pots for $79.99 each. Alphonse Karr and Golden goddess are the varieties we have right now. There are a few Buddha belly in 10 gallon pots for $150.00. Call the nursery at 210-648-1303 before coming as our stock changes daily.
