Try the humane society I got my dog there about a month ago and he is absolutely the best dog I have ever had.....
Google San Antonio humane society, find out the hours they open, and physically go out and check these places (there are several). They usually have older dogs, but it's where I've gotten all my puppies you just have to be persistent, be tenacious, and also try to be thorough and selective for the right fit for you.. They will have their shots, they will be fixed, and no matter how much you're paying believe me it's a bargain +Plus you're getting a friend for life, and you're saving it from an uncertain fate.. Just be good to your dog, the doggy gods are always watching....
