Thank you everyone. Have now taken in two "firecracker" dogs. So sad. I hate firecrackers. I will foster while I post.
Agreed: a vet will look for a microchip. Besides rescue groups, local no-kill shelters (including SAHS) will post found dog flyers on social media & keep dogs for a "stray search" before releasing them for adoption. You can also look on the Finding Rover app/report the found dog there.
First take it to any vet and see if it's MICROCHIPPED. The vet can contact the owner. Post to the app Next door and if your neighborhood has a FB post there or look to see if someone is looking for that dog. If unsuccessful and you cannot foster please first contact a rescue by googling. I suggest in your post on FB you all of anyone is willing to foster if you can't. Good luck
