Tip: Just tell them you're really picky and want to take your time with the animal selection. Dont go walking in telling them you just want to play with the animals. No, I've been waiting two months for trap and release. Phone calls go unanswered, staff can be a bit rude...but given the fact of how many pets come through those doors and how many are unnecessarily put down is stressful and heart breaking. I will always have mixed feelings until they become a no kill shelter unless it's medically necessary.

We had 2 dogs dropped off at our house also. I just made sure they was open. An I took them up there. They ask where or an about address as to where i lived. They took pictures of the dogs an my info. An we walked back into a room there in the front an they put them in a cage an I left. Oh they checked fo a chip also. It's $30, 1/2 price for dogs for Dogtober this month. Dogs are available for viewing at the shelter 2811 SE 29th, between 12-5:30pn 7 days a week. They also, have events on Saturday at certain locations in the OKC metro. It's typically PetSmart in Midwest City, 11-4pm, but not always.

My dog is healthy , they r strays tho. They give you a list of vets and advise you to take them after you adopt. The process is very easy, they ask that you spend over 15 minutes with the animal before deciding, after that it's up to you. U DO NEED TO TAKE YOUR OWN CAUTION , these dogs and cats come from all over. Never heard of them having parvovirus before. My dog I got is awesome and vet said he was healthy.

While you are Fostering, you must take them to the OKC Aninal Welfare for all their scheduled Animal Health Care shots and visits. They cover the costs of the Vet while they are in the Foster program. This was really nice. They will have to be in the program until your Foster Pet is old enough to be spayed/neutered. After that time you can Adopt the Pet you are Fostering. We love our little Pup that we got through the Foster to Adopt Program.
