Yes, you can visit the shelter and view and play with the animals. Weither or not you adopt one isn't necessary for you to visit. Tip: Just tell them you're really picky and want to take your time with the animal selection. Dont go walking in telling them you just want to play with the animals. Also you can go to any dog park and owners dont mind if you give animals love there too.
Yes me and my children do its such a sad environment for them I think it helps them and plus when you visit you find the right fit for you
They have volunteer training classes on Saturday and once you complete you can get the dogs out to get some exercise by walking them outside
It's not a good idea. Due to the sheer volume, your dog is at risk for contagious diseases. Look into a dog daycare instead
