I've been to a few Springs since moving to Florida and this is my favorite so far!! No style smell and it is beautiful!!! Just make sure you go to the top to float down all the way to the bottom..you must pass where everyone likes to swim! The sign saying do not enter does not mean you can't go past that area! It ends at a bridge with a rope that crosses under the bridge!
Probably could but I wouldn't recommend it. One way direction with many people floating around and getting in your way and once you reach the end you have to walk it back up.. let's not forget about those rocks tho lol

If you go from the start to finish, it's a good distance. If I had to guess, I would say a half a mile. The current pulls you so you really do not have to do any work. When you have reached the end, you have to get off the tube and walk back to the front. The walk back is about another half a mile in which you have to carry your tube.
Yes, you can bring and use camp style stoves. We go there with our scouting group American Heritage Girls. And camp for the entire weekend cooking our meals on propane and white fuel type stoves
The water is very clear Spring water. Its the same water that ends in bottled water throughout the state of Florida. It's the great outdoors so the potential of bacteria is always a yes but probably not a high risk of getting anyone sick.
Y need to get there mad early theres pll waiting already at 430 am the park opens at 8am. But they will give u a ticket if u r there. If park reaches capacity they close it until 1130 am.
in the summer or weekends its best to be in line by 6:30-7am because it reaches capacity by 8:30 then they ask you if you want to come back at 3pm and they give you a pass for that time
Kelly park doesnt rent the tubes you have to go to the barbaque place on rock springs rd just before the entrence to kelly park to rent the tubes. Cant remember how much but it was cheap. Like 5 bucks or something. The place is called Rock Springs Bar & Grill. And yes its cheaper buying one in walmart
Katie...I would get there no later than 9 a.m. earlier if possible. We were there on Wednesday it was close to full by 930. I don't not believe that you can get in after the park is full. I think once it's full that's it. Maybe call and ask. I always go during the week. Weekends may fill up earlier.
They open at 8: am It is the first time I went with my friends and they told me that we have to be early to be in lines at the entrance and to get tables where and a grill to cook
Yes you can bring a canopy and put it near the spring, the top of the spring is a less than 5 minute walk from where you can setup your canopy! Awesome place!
Are the spring or any water bills that you can swim in open right now??

I was there 2 weekends ago on a camping trip and nothing was open unfortunately. If you can, maybe try to call and see because they were scheduled to open up again in "early 2021".
Do you have Camping

I believe they have campgrounds, but I believe they are closed due to current situation.
Ok well can we bring the jet skis inside park with us while we are there camping?
Planning to go the next weekend , is swimming allowed? Or Not?

Normally yes, but they are doing maintenance in the swimming area and it has been closed. I would call and ask if the swimming area is open before going.
The area of the river will be open this Saturday first of August?

I was told it would be next year before the swimming hole was open but King's landing right down the road is open for business
I did not see any crocodile or lizard, but if there are signs warning of the possibility that they may appear, in addition to other animals, and that you do meet some do not contact them. There is a part of the river that warns you not to trespass. But go and enjoy the river, it is very nice there is a lot of security. The water is cold, take your raft or rent one in an establishment near the park.

Just so the public is aware this park does get full first thing in the morning. It is one of the most pristine places in Central Florida and therefore in high demand. The park will reopen in the afternoon for people who have already exited and allow new incomers. Best bet is to rent a campsite the night before or be there at the gate between 6:30 and 7 a.m. I realize it's a little time to wait however it is certainly worth it
If you look at their website, you can see a full list of charges. I think for 2 people it's about $3, 3 to 5 people is $5 and it goes up for more than 5 - price includes parking.
You also have to pay of you want to rent a tube - there's a place about 200yds along the road which is $7 a tube.
The place is beautiful, with lots to do but unfortunately no fishing. It is a great place for swimming, hanging out, hiking, wild life watching and tubing.
There are some places to do camping near the park. You can make reservations by email as the website says. This can help:

Do they supply tubes ?
Barbara Hudgens | Sep 19, 2019
Jacquelyn Hixon | Sep 19, 2019
No, you can either bring your own, or theres a place outside of the park entrance where you can rent them for a fee. (I believe $3)
Can you bring your own kayak?
Kathleen Cartagena | Sep 19, 2019
Jamie Swinehart | Sep 19, 2019
Yes, Absolutely. But You Must Complete A Canoe/Kayak Lauch Form Available From Orange County Parks. Also You Must Lauch From Camp Joy Down Baptist Camp Road. Download The Form From The County's Website At www.ocfl.net
No. Disney is about another hour south. Kelly Park is in North West corner of Seminole and Orange counties.
Kelly Park is definitely worth the side trip!
I don't know if anyone does now but 30 years ago I remember seeing people pulling out interesting artifacts like that from both Wekiwa and Rick springs
What time should my family get there on a Sunday morning

Before 1 pm If there are many people already at 11 can not enter
2006 you had an accident there a man got bit in the back of his head from a gator and another lady died and you want me to believe those waters are safe that nothing is going to happen? it may have happened 14 yrs ago but it's FL people get real.
Water is 68 always. Weather has been up and down a lot. Check the weather for the days you are visiting but the week of January 13 2019 should be high 60s.
Is Kelly Park open on Christmas day? I had seen articles saying that some Florida State Parks are open on Christmas day but they were from a few years ago

Is the swimmimg area open tomorrow even when raining off and on
Patrick Sullivan | Sep 19, 2019
Amanda Huffman | Sep 19, 2019
It is swim at your own risk so i would imagine as long as it is not lightning and thundering you can swim. I don't know for sure though. You should probably call and ask to be sure. Sorry i couldn't be of more help.
Do your campsites have cable or do we need our satellite?
dee dee stack | Sep 19, 2019
Daniel M. | Sep 19, 2019
No cable.
Do they have a grills around the park to use even if we don’t rent a pavilion?
Young “Grace” Mind | Sep 19, 2019
Kimberly Huggins | Sep 19, 2019
Yes there are atleast six picnic tables & grills through out the park first come first serve and they go quick.
Yes, it's 3$ for 1 or 2 people, 5$ for a carload. Have fun!
I don't know about weekdays but on the weekends the park fills quickly so I recommend that you arrive early.
U can bring a float or rent them. Id suggest bringing it but u dont necessarily need a float the river is only 3 to 5ft at its deepest. They also have very nice swimming area that doesn't need a float at all
$3 for 1 or 2 people in a vehicle. $5 for 3 to 8 people in a vehicle. $1 per additional person. $1 For pedestrians and bicyclists. Best deal in Orlando.
Is there Dogs allow at the Kelly park???...I have a tiny Chihuahua...smaller than most chihuahua!

Pets are not permitted on the park due to threatened animal species. Wekiva springs is not too far, they allow pets.
Are there any hotels close by?
Martha Guerrero | Sep 19, 2018
Christine Aqel | Sep 19, 2018
The Orlando metro area is crawling with hotels. Kelly park is in Apopka which is a tiny suburb of Orlando. I can't testify as to the type/quality but just google 'hotels near Kelly park Apopka fl' and you'll find options of varying kind. Hope this helps!
This park close in rain?
Oly Cruz | Sep 19, 2018
ben judkins | Sep 19, 2018
I believe it only "closes" for severe lightning. In the that case you will be asked to leave the water until it is safe. You can still be in the park.
Yes ,but get there early. It fills up fast. Opens at 8am. Also buy your inner tubes at the store before you enter. They do not sell inner tubes inside the part.
Some parts are. When I was there last week, it looked like there was a new ramp from the concessions area down to the main swimming area. But, all of the areas leading into the water are either rocky or stairs/ladders.
It can't exceed 5ft I believe. I brought a raft that was probably just a little past 5ft and they didn't say anything to me. Doesn't mean they won't in the future though.
When does the park open on Sundays and how early should you be there to get in? We went
at 10, waited a hour and then the park closed because it was full.

Park opens at 8am, and you should be there already waiting in line by 7am if possible. Park is usually full and closed by about 9:30. As someone else noted in another post, you can always try in afternoon after 1pm and see if enough people have left so you can get in.
You need to call 14 days prior to the day that your going. If is not rented you can get it for $50.00 all day. If is with it days of your day they will let you know and at that point is first come and is free.
You can use noodles or nothing. Be advised that there are big rocks at the beginning of the run and it's a little dangerous if you're not on a float. We tried with no float and ended up with banged up knees.
I was there yesterday and they told us they planned on opening later in the day or Sunday. Check their website, I believe it says if the park is open for swimming. As of Saturday, the bacteria levels had tested within normal range for 2 days. If Saturday's test was within normal range, they would reopen.
it was my first time in the park with my family and was very nice, good time in the tube, nice area for cook food, was a good experience. i recommend it
No however there is a family of otters that lives inside of the spring. They are adorable but shy so you'll have to catch them when it's not too busy. I have seen them twice :)
The crew at kelly park goes to great lengths to deter the gators. That doesn't mean there aren't any that slip through. Don't be afraid but also be aware
Someone must have taken off my answer as I stated before I have seen dogs there but whether or not they are allowed you would have to ask them I have never seen big dogs only very small dogs... lap dogs but I've never seen them swimming only chilling in the shade
I'm not really sure if dogs are allowed there but I have seen dogs there chilling out in the shade hanging out with their owners and watching people play in the water
Park Admission Fee: $3 per vehicle for 1-2 people; $5 per vehicle for 3-8 people; and $1 for additional person/walk-ins/motorcycles/bikes. No pets; No alcohol
Tube rental is $7 a tube. The location is before you enter the park. Can't miss it because you have to drive right by it. There are picnic tables and grills scattered everywhere in the parking lot area before you hit the spring. You are allowed to grill or cook but you are not allowed to do it down there this spring. There is also a concession stand located in a huge building with public restrooms. The concession stand sells drinks snacks burgers and other items. There is no other charge other than the charge of admission at the gate. When I went I only paid the $5 for me and my kids to enter at the gate. We had our own tubes. And we brought our own lunches. It was a great inexpensive day.
No paddle boards. Inflatables only. No shuttle either, but, it is not a far walk back. You can do as someone else suggested and go in at Kings Landing and paddle to Wekiwa Spring or Wekiva Island. These you would definitely want someone to pick you up at
