Yes, there are alligators in just about every body of water in Florida
I have been going there for years never have seen a gator there. The water is provably too cold for them since they are cold blooded. I have seen a small otters once or twice đź’—
I have been going over 30 year and never seen a gator or a snake at Kelly Park. Doesn't mean it couldn't happen but water is cold and people are noisy and quieter warmer water is available in same general region. The park has several lifeguards so they would clear the water if there was any threat. Typically we see fish or turtles and that is all.
If there's water ... there's a gator!!
I was there once and they had us come out of the water because of a gator then a few hours later they re-open .I have been there many times and I have never seen one.Keep in mind that if there is water there is gators but do not let that stop you. This is one of my favorite springs..
yes they caught a gator 3 years ago where you jump in the beginning hiding in the cave
I used to live across the street and had been there well over 100 times. I brought my mother for her first time and it was busy. Right as we were about to get in, there was a woman scurrying to get out. There was a 4 foot gator chilling on the bank. Pretty cool actually. All Florida water has gator potential.
At Miccasukee airboat rides I've walked around gators sunbathing on the walk path. They lie around like cats there with no barriers.
You might see some small ones but most Gators don't like the cold clear water its harder for them to catch food so most of the bigger ones stay out in darker warmer water.
Yes! A baby gator floated by at arms reach. I was surprisingly not that alarmed. However in hindsight if there’s a little one a bigger one may have not been that far off. Also have seen otters and even a dear drinking from the edge as my family and I floated by.
I've seen gators, sting rays, and one time a small shark (3 ft or so)!! Never a water mocassin there though or any otters.
Once saw a baby gator. Which usually means mom is far away. Did just recently encounter a water moccasin at the main spring head.
They tend to not be in the springs because they are cold blooded thats not to say there wont be any but they tend to he further down where the water has had time to warm up a little.
During the colder months they do the spring stays a constant temp so at some points water is warmer then outside but i do know for a fact they close the park down if there is any it happen to me I was turned away because of the gators in the park
Philip and glenda they meants OTTERS not small gators.
There is a chance you will see a gator. That goes for all the tubing rivers, but getting attacked is rare. Especially if you go down a busier River with a lot more people your probability goes down lol. However Kelly park I wouldn't be worried about at all. It's a short run and it's a very busy spring
No not at all.
NO. Not where you go tubing. Been there many times. Ray Garcia, WRONG!
I saw a baby alligator sitting on a tree as I floated by in my tube when I was there about a year ago.
2 tiny gators chillin on a water log (not together, but close), a 3+footer swam by at Otter campsite. 2 young bucks hanging out for a fresh drink in the evening. A blue heron made sure I made it back to Wekiwa ramp. Yes, there are gators in that "cold" water. Don't act like dinner, they won't treat you like dinner.
