The family loves this secluded peaceful place. A must see and great experience if you love peace and quiet. Not a popular party spot which makes it great for little kids and people who do not like crowded places.

BEAUTIFUL BEACH! It’s $5.00 to get into the state park. They do not require a permit to park on the beach, it’s included you can park on the beach. When you drive on to the beach, DO NOT STOP DRIVING! YOU WILL GET STUCK LIKE THIS GUY!! Luckily we had some fine pedestrians including my husband to pull this poor family out of the sand lol. Dogs are allowed, but they have to be on a leash! Like I said… BEAUTIFUL BEACH! And clean!!!!! They have a shower house, clean bathrooms and clean showers. They have a dog water fountain for your babies.

Beautiful park with gorgeous beaches! Too bad there is a lot of trash in the area where people camp. I picked up 2 bags full of it on my short 2 hour walk. Wish we could respect our beaches a little more…

Entrance fee was five dollars per person. Very reasonable to us. Man A War jellyfish were washed up but nothing extreme. We came at a not crowded time and that was nice. Didn't explore the dunes, we will definitely do that next time. Porta potty restroom was available.

Camping is allowed on the beach. With permit
I should’ve read all the comments before heading there. It’s still closed due to the hurricane.
I camped overnight about a month ago. Beach road 2. Go to the right for free and to the left for permit. We went right and camped for free with no problems.
Yes
Took a trip through Port A day after, looked like a bomb had gone off. Beaches are full of debris, but they get cleaned up.
I just got off the phone with the park. They are not open for camping. Day use only.
Free for children five and under, $5 for adults. $10 or $20 for overnight camping for either primitive or electric/water campsites.
You can go to the website to reserve a day pass or an overnight pass if you're staying. You will get a reservation number in your email.
Tent camping is allowed, but I don't know if you can spend the night there..
You can drive all vehicles on the beach as far as I can tell
No Mustang Island 'Full at Capacity for the day
If you look at the nueces county ordinance on google...they'll have all the info you need to help with that. Nueces county ordinance
Yes there is fresh water you just need your water hose, yes we have a dump station
There are a bunch of them in port a. Woody's is a good one. It isn't far
Bunch of condos nearby. Gulfstream is nice. Heated pool. Hot tub. Lights up for Christmas already.
Right now it is closed to all camping. Once the facilities are fully repaired it will have RV hookup sites
Not only can you take them on a leash you have to pick up after them if you know what I mean.
The state park is the beach. If you are on the beach, you are in the state park. You can even park right on the beach, so there's no giant parking lots to deal with.
Mustang Island State Park / Beach, you may be charged a fee; however, JP Luby is free camping and a beach parking sticker is only $12 at any Stripes on the Island.....
Absolutely! Just make sure you have a parking permit! (You can only "camp" in certain areas though).
Ingleside, you can drop Inn right by the boat ramp in the fish cleaning areas. Then you can kayak to an uninhibited Island. I would say it is an intermediate kayaking distance. It is my favorite place in the world to kayak to. Once you get there park your kayaks and fish all night light a bonfire you'll have the entire little island to yourself and you're + 1 or + 4 or whatever.
The showers are still at the main building in front just after you enter the park.
As you come in park on the right hand side you will see 2 story building. Showers are primitive since the hurricane. There are port a potties on the actual beach. Any park ranger can give you directions. Ask when you come in and they will point it out
Yes if you go down to the end. I recommend just getting a yearly beach pass. Its worth it.
Yes finally open it was easy to find that out by going to the website and checking on it but it was such a fun time for us to camp and cooked and slept in tents fun was had by all too bad we didn't see you there we could have invited you over they have hot dogs and hamburgers and potato salad maybe even a cold beer let me know next time you're going and we'll save some food for you
Sooner the better it's a summer vacation spot .. Dunno about the 50 amp . you talking RV. IF so then yes
If you can park an rv and a truck on the Edge of the Beach. I don't think there is a problem with a generator on the back of your pickup
When you go in at the gate. You pay an entrance fee per person.
No jelly fish. Today the water was to warm for jelly fish
You can make a reservation on the web site. or call the Park for rv/ tent camp site. ... beach camping the same.....
Reserved a spot to camp overnight.
I do not recommend it.
I don't see any cabins just RV area with all they need like electricity and water services also security. They have parking spots for everybody I just paid $5.00 per person in the car to enter and you can drive in the sand they recommend 4x4 vehicles. Further information call them. Have a nice day
I was there a month a go, everything is open, they have showers and bathrooms too.
Yes. There is a parking lot but if you want to park on the beach you need a 4x4.
Sort of. You are entering a state park, so there is an entrance fee unless you get a Texas Parks pass. You can get a TPP online.
No paved areas but it's pretty flat.
I was out that way this past Monday and the gates to the entrance were closed
No... not directly on the beach however the following is available at the camp sites: Camping "Stay at one of 48 water and electric campsites or 50 drive-up primitive sites. (The water and electric campsites are 1/3 mile from the beach.) We have water, cold-water rinse showers and portable toilets along two miles of the beach. Full restrooms and showers with hot water are located near the water-electric campground."
The restrooms are quite nice now
No but it's beautiful
Mustang island itself you have to book in advance and they are currently booked two weeks out. A couple of the other turn ins have small parking areas you can park and walk to the beach. We went last Wednesday and made the hike. No one was there, it was awesome and we stayed all day!
Samantha is correct. The beaches open again tomorrow morning...8/1. They have already placed the traffic barrels that allow for more efficientflow, so it looks like all ststems are go.
Confirm by going to their Texas State Park website.
Make reservations for the campgrounds. You can camp on the beach.
As of last week, 6/12, Mustang St park was totally closes during the weekdays. Weekends only. Camping allowed, but again, weekends only.
There is a spot near access road 3 where there are a bunch of RVs. I have not been in there to check, but it looks like an RV park. You can pull your RV directly onto the beach, but there are no hookups on the beach.
Go to Texas state parks
Yes, a license is required to fish.
It's $12 for a 2020 pass. You can camp on the beach for 3 (or 5?) days at a time. You can buy the pass at any local gas station.
Swimming is at the beach. Flags are there to show conditions but they do not update them when entrance gate is unmanned.
The state park campground charges for campsites plus daily entrance fee (or annual pass). If you have beach parking pass ($12 Annual) you can camp on beach for free between Port Aransas and State Part Beach Area any time of year. [3 day limit consecutively in one spot]
Yes, it's year round. You can go to their website Texas State Parks, Mustang Island. They have primitive campsites and ones with electric, etc. The showers & bathrooms are usually very clean (at least when we've been there).
Check out park facilities here. There are other private RV parks under Port Aransas and Corpus Christi addresses nearby. https://tpwd.texas.gov/state-parks/mustang-island
Yes. 😆
As long as you fish off the land in any Texas State Park you are not required to have a license. This is one off the many reason my family and I have been annual pass holders for many years! Hope this helps.
There are a couple of porta potties near the State Park area. If you go back to North Beach there are a few port-a-potties out there as well
No camping at this time in the state park. Mustang island encompasses more than the state park.
As far as I know I do not think the camping spots are open yet.
If you want to have a bathroom yes but you can get off access road 3 and no there is not a fee but you don't have a bathroom either. There are other access roads that lead to the beach as well that are free.
Yes they do have showers. Located at the entrance. No extra fee to use them... if i remember correctly they have stand alone showers located closer to the beach... i could be off about that. But they def. Have some at the entrance.
Not sure about a pier, but it has 2 jettes on the beach
They are still recovering from Harvey but when I went in May it looked like they were being close.
If you go straight on that road you'll see a gated area and yes there's a entrance fee . The other areas near by there. Are all free
On the beach itself you can set up a tent or camper in most locations whenever you like you just need a beach parking permit for vehicles.
They are located near the beach access roads
I love it.its awesome.fun for family n friends.fare pricing.nice people.great accomidations
No. There are signs everywhere that say NO OVERNIGHT PARKING it says until 8:00 pm
We didn't need a permit for Mustang Island, but you do pay an entry fee - for 2 adults it was $10
At certain parts of the beach yes
From what I've been told it will be another year until full repairs are made. I was there a month ago and it was closed for camping. It's open from around 6 or 7 am until sunset. You could still camp at the other beaches including the national seashore in the meantime.
I was there about a month ago and they were still building the showers/bathroom. They have portable toilets by the beach. They had to completely rebuild the shower/bathroom building and rv sites. You can look at the website like people say but I would call
Yes. Use website if possible.
The also sell beach/ park passes at certain gas stations :)
Yes
No I was by there two weeks ago and nothing has been done it is totally shut down... you can camp on the beach can you use a generator
Don't think it's this one. You can find sand bars during specific time such as very low tide but no ongoing exposed sandbar
You should contact them directly. Normally it would be, but there is less camping because there is still hurricane damage.
Yes, if you have a reservation or they have a spot.
You can drive and park on the beach but rv's are notorious for getting stuck in the sand. Be careful!
Of you go down to the next beach entrance you dont have to pay all ya need is a beach sticker and you can get one of those at any convince store i think for the day is under 10$ for the year is about 13
I don't think they will be open this year it looks like they are still doing repairs and construction from the damage caused by Harvey.
The park was closed for repairs after the hurricane. Contact the park headquarters... Before the closure, there was just about every kind of camping except glamping
The beaches are open all the time, I saw a lot of locals with tents and campers off the access roads down around Port Aransas. You can sleep in your vehicle on any beach 24/7/365 but I was told you have to have a pole in the water on the main beaches in Aransas Pass. You will need a Nuances County beach parking permit sticker for your windshield, $12 at any of the local gas stations, open 24/7, and a fishing permit, one day pass is $16, out of state 1 year permit is $64 as of 2018.
I believe you can have a fire no bigger than3×3 ish if there is no ban. Over night camping yes for 5 dollars if you go through the park. Or you can go down the road to fish pass where you dont have to pay. You can camp 3 dsys in a row before having to move camp
Campsites with Water and Electric People per Site: 8 Number of Sites: 48 These sites are not on the beach, they are separated from the ocean by sand dunes and are about 400 yards from the water. No fire rings are at these sites; you can have a campfire on the beach, but not at the campsite. Cooking in the grills at the site is allowed. Picnic table Outdoor grill Water hookup 50 amp hookup Shade shelter Restrooms nearby More » $20 Nightly $120 Weekly
Mustang is still rebuilding from Harvey.but like jillian compo said bali park is very nice or you can go down to the national seashore its at the end of park road 22
No,day use only right now.still rebuilding from harvey.
Yes but be sure to bring plenty of bottled water for them to drink & give a good bath after!!
Yes ,
Yes there is, but check online and see if there are any spots available for the date you are wanting and if there is, get your reservation in right away. The camping spots on the beach tend to sell out well in advance, from what I understand.
172.00 a night at holiday inn
You do not need a licenae... a day license is included when you pay to get into the park.
Yes, they normally do. Overnight camping is still not open because if Harvey.
Correct, day use only permitted.
I believe they are only allowing day use in the state park at this time.
Due to Harvey... day use only at least till the end of the year...
So not even on the beach camping until January 2019?
Go to the website go to the website go to the website go to the website go to the website go to the website
Might want to try this new invention called the internet and check for a website everything you want to know is there believe it or not
20 a night 120 weekly plus Park entry fee.
I was told that there were going to be some spaces ready for the spring
