You can go to the website to reserve a day pass or an overnight pass if you're staying. You will get a reservation number in your email.
Depends on state Park, city, or county beaches. City/county is the $12 pass for one year at stripes on island or HEB in Flour Bluff. State Park has different fees. Used to be per person, but i think it's per vehicle and you have to declare everyone for accountability(people do occasionally have problems with rip currents). Additional charges for camping, reserve in advance, per night.
I payed $12 for an annual pass. You can get them at any store
$12 beach pass can be purchased @ HEB or Stripes
$5.00 at the gate at state park. Other access is free on Mustang Island.
State parks have an entrance and will charge before you for going in. The amount was not much. I forgot the $. You can search.
You can get a state park pass and go anytime during regular hours. Pass will get you and all the people in your vehicle in for free for day use. Camping is paid separately. You could just go to the gate and pay a day use fee for each person but over time the pass is a great buy.
