Are there any pedestrian only areas where no vehicles will be driving? I have small children and don't want to worry about them running in front of a truck.

Yes, there is a pedestrian only beach

Everyone was respectful with the speed limit, else they'll either sink or get reported. There's also a pavement parking lot if you prefer to walk up to the beach instead of driving/parking on the sand. Very safe and clean back, but be aware of mosquitoes at the rinse off area. Enjoy!

I didn't see any we had a problem with the kids running from car/picnic table to water due to them running out in area of traffic in between
