I appreciated the experience at the Embassy today as I renewed my passport. They were all very efficient, polite, and fast! The building was very comfortable and not intimidating. Best government agency so far imo 😁 Someone working from the Philippine Embassy (1600) went out of his way to go out and inform me as we were passing by that the consular office is across the street. He was so friendly and accommodating; and he willingly answered some questions I had. It made me feel so comfortable and not nervous anymore!

I DON'T KNOW WHEN WILL THEY ANSWER MY REQUEST TO GET MY SCHEDULE FOR DUAL CITIZENSHIP!

Nobody answers calls!

Joey is the best! From email correspondence to actually taking care of my dual citizenship process, he was consistently helpful and courteous. Instructions were clear. The only downside is the scheduling process as it was truly difficult because you have to time it, and wait for any schedule to be available. I made my appointment about 3 months ago. I got a confirmation number of my appointment via text message. This same number texted me a day prior to my appointment to remind me of my dual citizenship and oath taking schedules. You have to go to 1617 Massachusetts address for dual citizenship and passport renewal. My appointment was 9:45 but I arrived early and was allowed to come in around 9:20. Once inside, you have to sign in. No need for temperature checks, but you need to wear a face mask at all times. I submitted all the required documents for the dual citizenship and passport renewal application. The process is smooth as long as you have complete documents. I was done in about 15 minutes. My oath taking started around 1:30 pm (not 3pm). The restrooms are clean. The temperature was warm - inside the building where you take the oath of allegiance to the RP. So, you can take a manual fan for your comfort. All the staff members were polite and helpful. Kudos to the staff!
Thanks! Your review is awaiting moderation.
Hi I have a question about what the document that I need to bring to renew my passport and I’m 18 years old now, and that I need to bring my parent to go to Embassy to renew my passport thanks
Is Dual Citizenship Services open?
Good luck getting an answer from Embassy employees when you call their phone lines! They don't seem to the have the time to answer their phones or do they have any compunction to respond to voice messages left for them. The INCOMPETENCE of people working in the embassy is alarming and extremely irritating!
Not helpful

I hear you! Noone even picks up phone if you try to call. It would be nice if he knew.
Appointment is better to avoid the long wait. Even with an appointment, you still wait for an hour. Make sure to get the priority envelope ahead of time at the post office with a stamp, so that they can send your passport back. And bring $60.10 in cash for the passport fee.
yes you can ask the front desk and ask how much, i think its 35$ or 65$ cant remember
Donnie, here would be a good starting point. https://philippineembassy-usa.org. they are great to work with
No, you can't. It's by appointment only during this time of pandemic.
You dont need visa when u go if you are naturalized already. Just present your US passport. You can stay there even for one year.
http://www.philippineembassy-usa.org/philippines-dc/consular-services-dc/faq-dc/#adultrenewal Click this link to get the requirements in renewing passports

Is the child a Filipino as well? Dual citizen or Filipino citizen (child) can be accompanied by a US Citizen adult and be granted a visa. If the child is only a US Citizen, both the child and US Citizen parent will not be granted a Visa until the travel ban is lifted. Furthermore, the child must be travelling with the adult. If the US citizen adult is the sole traveler on the flight itinerary, no visa will be granted.
No need
hi. did you contact the philippine embassy?
Chris there is no way to make a living as you described yourself. Filipno men work in extraordinary heat, primitive tools, no labor laws 10 - 12 hours a day for 10 usd a day if your lucky enough to find work.
Yes, same experience here. Noone ever picks up the phone which is absurd!

Nope. It's a first come, first serve basis. No appointment required.
You have to apply for travel documents to get your vacation back in no more than ever
All visitors are allowed 3 weeks without PHIL visa beyond that there are fees to be paid
Check their website for their policies
I’m not sure as of now. When I went there in May 2022, they required me to have PCR test to enter the Philippines, no quarantine since I’m vaccinated for C-19. Please refer to DFA website for latest info on this matter.
You only need a tourist visa
You can get instruction and forms to fill out on line. You make an appointment and appear in person at the embassy on your appointed day and time.
Republic Act 9225 otherwise known as the Citizenship Retention and Reacquisition Act of 2003 (more popularly known as the Dual Citizenship Law) enables former natural-born Filipinos who have become naturalized citizens of another country to retain/reacquire their Philippine citizenship by taking an oath of allegiance to the Republic of the Philippines before a Philippine Consular Officer. Upon retaining or reacquiring their Philippine citizenship, they shall enjoy full civil, economic and political rights as Filipinos.
I do not know the latest rules. Please check website of Philippine embassy in Washington DC.
You can’t get it here in the US You can give authorization to anyone of your relatives to get it for you in the Philippines. After they get it, they have to mail that original here. I emailed my authorization to my nephew. That is what I did. Hope that helps.
No parking area allocated. The Embassy is along the busy streets. I saw some cars do parallel parking nearby the area
Submiy the report of marriage first... once ROM is reported you will receive a piece of paper stating you have reported your marriage. You can include that paper the next time you apply for a passport with your married name. Also you may visit the Embassy website for more detailed information you may need.
You're supposed to also submit a self addressed stamped envelope from USPS which should have a tracking number. If you meant tracking the progress, there is a section on the website called "passport finder" which allows you to do that.
You should find it on the Embassy's website. All info re Dual Citizenship is listed
The embassy said it takes 8-10 weeks for processing
You don’t need booster and submit negative covid test results upon entering Philippines but if you have a booster shot you don’t need a covid test results.
59 days then you can extend after that.
They don’t need covid test nor covid vaccination card to enter the Philippine embassy.
Most of the time nobody will answer the phone. But if you leave a voice message & your number they will call u right back. Hope this will help.
Just make a copies of your Naturalization and US passport.. but you have to bring your original as well. They will take the copies & give you back the orig..
USPS at 1800 M st. its 8 mins. walk from the embassy, will cost you 8.95 for the stamp or just mention return envelope for philippine passport. You’ll have to have it before your appointment.
There are a lot of parking nearby you just have to pay the parking meter. But it is limited up to 2 hrs only.
Old passport birth certificate and license or id
No u don't
Are you going to renew your passport? If yes just bring your old passport, $60 dollars, stamps worth 8dollars plus. and priority envelope,.
Yes, visit the consular website
No, you still need a Philippine passport, or American passport with Visa to get entry.
If you're Philippine citizen you go now!! If not, then you need a Visa.
Yes you do
No, just take your valid US/foreign passport and your Duel Citizenship Document when you go to the Philippines. Information found on Houston.dfa.gov.ph
No Mon to Friday
Only the person with the appointment allowed inside they due have chairs and a couple of tents outside to wait
Right now I don't think they are letting foreign people in But normally you get 20 days in the Philippines with out visa for americans
If you know somebody in the Philippines, a relative, give her or him an authorization to get it for you from the Philippine Statistics Authority. You have to provide them with your marriage contract. Email your marriage contract and your letter of authorization to your relative.
They will have outreach program in Tampa, FL on 5-7th of November, 2021.just monitor when is the Qles appointment start
I dont think so .
You mean permanent resident in the Philippines?if you are married to a Filipino then you can apply a renewal.but this time of covid you cannot go to the Philippines if your spouse is not traveling with you.hope this helps
Submit your proof of identity/Philippine citizenship (birth certificate). Check their website for more complete information.
We were able to get 5 appointments in one day. It takes a lot of patience! Try to get appointment between 9am to 3pm Eastern time. Use the Qless system every 5-10 minutes. Be patient. It took me a while day to get appointments. Better to use Chrome on your smartphone instead of a computer because it's easier.
I had an appointment on July 26th 11:20. I got in at 11:10 am and was done by 12:00nn. There were about 10 people at one time inside the embassy.
Yes
I submitted my application in March. It took exactly 3 months to get sworn in.
You can't just walk in. You will just waste your time. You have to go to the website and follow protocol and schedule a time and date. It will be 30 days from the day you made the appointment.
Yes. Just visit their website.
They're open but you have to secure an appointment with them through they're online kiosk. They won't let you in the embassy without an appointment.
You don't need visa, but you're allow to stay for 30 days or if you wanted to stay longer than that you need to get extention to the consular near you and pay the fees.
For a us citizen ? Any post office
The answer to this question has been changing weekly. Currently PI citizens are allowed in with pi passport. Spouse is allowed in as balikbayan, if your marriage is registered in PI. Look up YouTube for upto date info.
You go to the maps Enable ask search for top of the pageYou put in the Address Of what you looking for complete address And it will give you directions and output and a map
Voting is open. You will have to appear in person by appointment only.
Go online to set up an appointment. Once your appointment is set you have to download the renewal application, bring your old passport, greencard, self postage mail and your cash payment of $60. All of this info is on thier website
You have to book it online. Best to use your phone and email . If can also recruit a friend or family member to try online as well. You will be rejected at the consulate.
The ONLY way is to make an appointment. As the site explains, the appointments are made available on a rolling 30-day window. You need to get out your calendar and count 30 days ahead. If the date is a weekend or a holiday for the Philippine Embassy, there will be no appointments offered in the tegistration site that day. The first appointment offered each day is at 9am ET. That means you must have your information filled out in the registration form and ready click the button to request the appointment right at 9am. Thereafter, apointment alots are every 10 minutes. If you didn't get the 9am slot, make sure you're ready to try again at 9:10, then 9:20; then 9:30, and so on. Be absolutely certain your e-mail address and your mobile phone number are correct on the form! My wife and daughter managed to secure consecutive appointments at 9:10 and 9:20 using the method I have just explained. The key is to have it ready to submit a little early, then keep clicking to retry.
With the ever changing travel policies/restrictions, best bet is to just call the consular office. I just looked up https://ph.usembassy.gov/covid-19-information/ and it was updated last week. It looks like if a US citizen travels with a Filipino citizen that is either a parent, child, or spouse, they can be allowed to enter the PI, as long as they have a visa as supposed to without a visa like what we did last December, I traveled with my wife (Filipino citizen). Also, by calling them, he'd have a realtime answers on his inquiries, especially in an emergency situation like he's in. Since I'm not time constricted, I personally applied for a dual citizenship, so we really don't have to scramble for a visa if we have to come back to the PI for i.e. emergencies.
Need to mail the requirements listed on the site, and wait for there response.
Looks like your cutting it a little close, but yes go back to the PI to renew by all means.
From my personal experience, apply now. I would call the embassy and talk to a real person to verify tho.
Send my get schedule from phi.embassy
i-130 resident alien petition thru homeland security
They give out slots every 10 minutes of the hour
You can go on their website and get the list of requirements, fill out a form and send your application to the embassy. They will let you know after they have reviewed your application and will send you an invite to come in person to the embassy in DC to complete the process.
Yes. Check the website for details.
Not at this time. The consular office is closed due to pandemic. You need to send your application to DC.
Valid passport and probably a negative covd test within 72 hours of travel. Bring green card if you have em, otherwise, you'd need some sort of visa to enter back to the states. Don't take my word for it though, make sure do your own research. I don't know anything about your situation. This is just a general answer.
See: philippineembassy-usa.org/dual-citizen-application-by-mail/
Hi. Not really, you should be fine with the requirements posted on their website. But if your unsure you can always call their office.
That's a question better suited for a lawyer. if you are talking money, or land then I would refer to an attorney in PI. If it is valuables, then have your parents ship them too you.
I kept emailing them until they gave me an appointment. It was very challenging to the point that I have considered going to the Philippines to renew. My advice try logging in and set and appointment and email them constantly. Also calling their office wouldn't hurt. I kept doing that till they knew my name lol.
Go to their website and it will explain it to you step by step
If he has a US passport yes, if is is not he will need to get a valid PH passport.
Here's the link for the requirements. https://philippineembassy-usa.org/e-passport-renewal/ I just renewed mine on Nov 23, 2020. You need to set an appointment online 30 days in advance. Example: Today is Nov. 30, 2020, the available appointment will be December 30, 2020.. Tip: the appointment system will start showing the available slot starting at 9am and will continue showing one slot for every 10 minutes until 12pm and will resume at 1pm until 3pm. Monday to Friday only. So if the 30th day from the time you visit the website falls on weekend, then there will be no appointment will be shown on the website. Also the renewal of passport is in the consulate building right across the embassy. Here is the address. 1617 Massachusetts Ave NW, Washington, DC 20036
That is a question for the US Immigration.
The vice consul told us last week Phils is still closed to non citizens, the consulate has seen an increase in dual citizenship applications because of this
Hello, kindly refer to the link below on the instructions to obtain dual citizenship https://philippineembassy-usa.org/dual-citizenship-application-by-mail/
I am married to a Filipina and have it officiated through the Philippjne Embassy, am i eligible for a Visa to travel to the Philippines with my wife if needed
My wife only spent about 15 minutes inside to renew her passport, all they did was take biometrics and accept her co.pleted paperwork. I don't know if it is any different for new passports.
You might want to Google on that..we drove it there and it took us 14hrs drive and we stayed at Hampton by Hilton.. it was great. Only 10/12 minutes to the embassy
The requirements are listed on the PH Embassy Washington website.
I would strongly suggest you have a recent test and documented results before leaving, I do not know what they will do at the PH end or any intermediate transfers. Check with the airlines now and a few days before leaving.
Make an appointment for travel visa
So this depends on which state your from Rick. But if your close to DC, https://philippineembassy-usa.org/
No. Your American Citizenship and passport confers American Citizens rights to travel to and from the Phillipines.
Yes schedule and appointment and go in person
Go on their web site then follow directions. Ounce your there, they will asked you, your personal info
Yes, but if you are thinking of traveling anything soon . There are some procedures in place due to the whole covid-19. Such as a screening and quarantined for a couple days. Once landed in the Philippines, that is.
No appointment no entry, like no id not entry home.
Yes, granted that you're a Filipino citizen when you say Balikbayan.
U can go to the website and it is there
According to the vice consul, you don't need your Philippine passport as long as you have your Filipino Naturalization Certificate. You only have to show that to the immigration officer. They highly suggest to fly with PAL instead of other international airlines for convenience.
Yes, you can renew your passport even with just a tourist visa.
I have the same question too? I hope they are going to improve the online appointment system.
She can renew her passport over there.
Royal blue
The Philippine Embassy website lists all the requirements
Hi ! Have you checked the Philippine Embassy website?
Either you can apply in embassy a tourist visa for 6 months or you can go to Thailand or hongkong after 28 days in Philippines and come back and get another month visa stamped at Philippines immigration..hope it helps
You will need a Mexican visa to work.in Mexico
No you have to go in person with all the requirements. I just had mine done. It's a one day process. Come to the embassy early. If your documents are in order, you wait for swearing in in the afternoon. You go home with your papers.
no visa needed. they will give you your visa when you arrive free.
I think they send it by Fedex only if you provided it at the time you got your passport renewed. I think your only option now is to maybe authorize someone to pick up with your pick up slip
Just go to the embassy with your passport and birth certificate and fill out the documents on the embassy website
Check the Embassy of the Philippines website. You might find the info there
Maybe you should check with the Saudi Embassy
Go to your HR and ask for your employment cert.
Did you check the website for requirements and if you need to appear here at the embassy in Washington, DC
Check on their website
Is it for us passport or Philippine passport ? Us passport go by whatever name is on her naturalization certificate..for Philippine passport you need to show report of marriage ..hope it helps
Only a US Embassy/consulate can answer your question. The Philippine Embassy has nothing to do with issuance of US Visas. Good luck!
Same process and requirements as new registration of marriage..just make sure if you ever were married in pi..it will be tough without a court order if annulment..enjoy
Philippine embassy used to handle power of attorney but now for past ew months you can go to apostille service notary near your residence and provide him/her details and that should be sufficient..they can draw a power of attorney for you or you can simply type your own form and have it notarized and sent it to your brother in law . How well and how much you trust your brother in law ..that's between you and him..hope it helps
Their website has all the info
If you want to send it to a person just use Western Union
Homey im just visited there to help my girl friend nrother renew his visa. Basicly the driver. Call the embassy nice buch of ladies.
WHY DOESN'T ANSWER FROM PHIL EMBASSY ABOUT ABOVE QUESTION? DON'T YOU CARE ??????
Your visa is part of the passport. Its a stamp on your passport.
That is a question for US Immigration & not for Philippine Embassy. As far as I know, if you have a valid multiple entry US Visa, you can use it to re-enter multiple times from anywhere.
yes its called a special power of attorney.youll need two copies of what you will have him to manage and two copies of your i.d.. after three days and 25$ fee it will be ready for pickup i think you can also submit a self staped self addressed evelope and have it mailed. Be there early!!!
Go online and set for an appointment.
you dont need a visa. when you arrive there in Philippines you will be given visa on demand. then you need to go to the immigration office every 30 days to renew your visa.
All requirements are on the embassy website
Their website has all requirements
You can probably check the website of the White House
Their website has the complete requirements
Yes ..that's a DFA requirement to get your son passport ...not required by US
You need to fill out the passport renewal form. They will take your picture at the consulate. I think the fee is $60 and they only accept cash. Bring your old passport and your Original or certified cooy of marriage certificate. All the requirements are on the website. You can also set up an appointment online so that you don't wait too long.
Cool it for 59 days then get an extension after 30 days ( before 30 days expires) ..extension is easy then changing a plane ticket
Everything is on their website. You will need to provide a self addressed envelope if you dont want to pick up in person when your passport is ready
All the requirements are on the website
You need a US passport, an exit ticket to leave Philippines. Philippines has visa on demand, meaning you have 21 days maybe 30 now. Then every 30 days you'll pay immigration fees. Don't go unless you have a stable monthly income. Philippines is not a good place to be destitute.
Go to their website and download the forms for passport renewal and report of marriage. Fill out the forms but don't sign them yet. If you do, you'll have to get them notarized. Sign them in front of the consular officer. Bring 4 copies of everything along with the original.
I have no idea i didn't go as a tourist
Yes you can ..you can get report of marriage same day if you arrive early and as stated earlier ..bring a priority mail envelope for return of passport ..usually takes 2 weeks ..Good Luck
I went there couple of times and I didn't see them take any lunch break.
They usually post their schedule on the website
Yes you can. Upon arrival log on to their log and they will call you. Or you can schedule it at the embassy website and all you need to do is go there in your schedule and they will call you.
Did you check their website?
Newport news Virginia My passport expired next year and we planning to go on a vacation in Philippines
You can get the spa on their website. Download and print. Do not fill it out until u are in front of them. You'll need to photocopies of spa and two copies of i. D. And 25 usd. You can supply a self stamped and addressed envelope or return in 3 days to receive it yourself
They usually post holidays on the website
Birth certificate, naturalization, old 🇵🇭 passport. 4 copies each.
Yes
Just the form filled up and notarized but they have special requirements to get notary and sometime it is easier to get notarized by someone approved by embassy ..other then that..just fees and form to be send and return envelope
Never had any luck talking to a live person all these years! I think it's ridiculous that not one person can take care of phone calls!
All requirements are on the website 😊
I requested one two weeks ago online via PSA website. It was very easy. I filled the application form and paid $20.30. Currently waiting on the document. Here's the link to the application form: https://www.psaserbilis.com.ph/Secure/OnlineApplication.aspx
I don't think you can travel on an expired passport
Hi Chuck! Washington DC embassy is the closest Embassy where she can have it renewed. Unfortunately, everyone is required to appear in person now which is a bummer especially if you're from out of town. It's a hassle going to the Embassy.
You're better off making an appointment but walk-ins are also accepted. You just need to sign in at kiosk to get your spot reserved if you walk in.
No.
No they will not take your old passport. They'll just punch a hole in it and return it to you.
It depends if he has ever a Filipino citizen and lost his citizenship by being naturalized in other country ..or if he was born abroad ( outside Philippines) ..did you ever report his birth to the nearest Philippine Embassy ?? Yes you can apply for him ..depends on his age also..if he is 18.he can apply himself . good Luck
Yes, you send your application, passport and fees to the address from the website

Marriage certificate
You can get copy online @ https://www.psaserbilis.com.ph
Register at 5he DMV
You can make an appointment online and check requirements there too
Yes you can take a short drive to Washington DC and renew your Philippines passport even if it is expired ..
It's the same staff who handle visitors in the front and after they are done releasing documents between 3-4 pm ..then they get a chance to answer calls..I was there last wknd and I saw how busy they are and not picking up any phones...so to answer your question...try calling after 3:45 pm
It's like any other country they want to see you have enough means to support your stay in Philippines..their papers. Not illegal if they are missing money..but they might be refused entry ...if they are travelling from USA ..most people don't get a tourist visa ..they can travel without any visa for a stay up to 30 days and no questions asked
They are in country not in usa still does not matter?
If you are from USA you can stay up to 30 days without visa or if you are near any embassy or Philippines consulate ..you can walk-in and get a visa same day...or you can make a short trip to any neighbor country like Thailand for a day and 30 day stay will start over again .
You need your old passport, birth certificate, social security card, a valid ID, a valid green card (if applicable), and marriage license (if applicable). Also, there a registration paper you have to complete. Its $60 to renew.
https://ph.usembassy.gov/u-s-citizen-services/passports/correcting-or-changing-a-passport/
Bring your prescription letter from your doctor. Must show current date.
I have no idea. This question may be better addressed to travel agents or read the US immigration website.
No
Yes, you can. In fact, that's pretty much your only option is to go to DC. They at their own discretion schedule at local consular offices 1 a year.
They respond to email the following day. They have responded to all my questions via email. For new application, they require Birth Cert. In their website it lists all the required docs for new application.
Dont think you can do it online. Your going to have to find your nearest councilet and travil to it. Be sure to go to web site and download, fill out and have all documents required when you arrive.
Yes. Go to web site for documents you will need
Usually it took 4 to 5 weeks.. mine i just renewed,
When I went to apply for my Dual citizenship, I met a few people who went to get red ribbon. I suggest you email them since you'll never have any luck to get someone on the phone.
Phil passport check Philippine Embassy website all info are there.
While possible, the website advises to expect it in 6
If you're staying less than 30 days then you don't need a visa. If you plan to stay for more than 30 days, a visa must be obtained prior to arrival.
Thanks for your response Garrett are you buying your throwaway ticket beforehand or when you get there
Yes you have to appear there in person.
Yes just get there early. You will be able to renew your passport but you will get your actual passport in about six week.
Walk ins. But come early and expect to spend at least half a day there.
Yes you can.
Yes I'm just finding that out now .smh I mean I have US passport .
You need birth certificate of both parents. Passport is not enough for them.
1600 matchassuset avenue Washington DC
No you cant. Passport should have at least 6 months expiry date. You can renew now. It only takes 6 to 8 weeks.
There's a form u can obtain at the embassy. I highly recommend u go online and download the form. The wait line is very slow. Just to get an answer to your question inside may take up to an hour
No they won’t allow you into the country, and likely your departure flight agency won’t allow you to board your 1st flight.
There are Embassy outreach programs that are in Florida from time to time. The one in Miami was opened for 2 days in May for passport renewals etc. They are now closed. I believe they will have one in Tampa sometime in August though. You can check the embassy website.
I know it sucks but yeah they are quite far,I live in here in FL and I have to go to Washington to renew my passport. But what you can do is check the Philippine embassy website because they do outreach program and they put the schedule on it. Maybe you can find closer instead of going to Philippine embassy so far from you. Also they only do by appt so try to reserve early
most of the time if it is out of the country they require 6 months, but my recent travel I was able even if only 2 months left before it expired. But I would suggest that you renew your passport before you travel just to be on the safe side.
