Really nice plane to get in touch with nature.
J McMullen
We spent the weekend camping here and had lots of fun. The trails were nice and the bathrooms were always clean. It was very quiet at night. We can’t wait to come back.
Molly Birkett
Beautiful day and friendly employees. Don't speed! They WILL pull you over in the park.
Jamal Dygert
What a great park! We walked along the river and saw several birds and flowers. The discovery center was closed but looked neat.
Thanks! Your review is awaiting moderation.
No. Those are national. This is state.
Can you camp overnight by the river?
The park is busy yes on any summer holiday
Yes you can and you do not need a separate fishing license. Park entry fee includes fishing.
Yes you can fish there and do not need a license to fish in of the 70 state parks. All the size limits and bag limits remain in effect.
u
If you are planning to stay overnight a reservation will guarantee a spot to sleep, but you can just show up and hope the grounds aren't full. If you're not planning to spend the night you can go anytime, but the earlier you're there the better the parking.
Please Call The Park Rangers Onsite ... Telephone number is in Overview Above ...
Fishing in any state park is free and does not require a fishing license. At this park, up river from the swim area is where I've caught catfish, pan fish, & fairly small bass... down below the cascading rapids is decent fly fishing
No. Some tent camping spots are a very close walk to the river, but most campsites are a little further away. When we were camping there we packed a picnic and drove down to the river access area, There are many picnic tables available and you can also set up right next to the river.
Yes dogs are allowed, but they must be on leashes. There were several small and large dogs around camp, although I would be weary about leaving your small dogs unattended being as there are coons and the like that are around the park
Yes and they have connection, for RV
Either works as far as I know. Sorry for the delay.
That is correct someone on staff tested positive, the current schedule is for the park to reopen on July 14, you must have advance reservations made on the state parks website.
There are pits with picnic tables. However the burn ban effects charcoal and wood grills. The park ranger told us only gas or propane grills can be used since there's no embers that fly away which could lead to fire.
3350 Park Road 31 Spring Branch Texas
There are full service sites available, but they cost more then the average site
Yes
You will need to bring your own river toys! The river is awesome here.
There is some primitive campsites that are fairly close to the river
Public toilets 👌
Rubí Montes is not allowed at this time due to the dry season there may be a fire, not as a precaution!
Yes and No, you can fish in Texas state parks without a license. I'd recommend reading the exact guidelines on texas parks and wildlife site. Tpwd.texas.gov To be clear the guidelines state it is legal to fish in state parks FROM the bank only without a license. That implies that fishing from a kayak or other vessel would not be legal w/o license
No camp sites by the river only picnic sites with bbq pits, no camping...
This park is so packed before, during, and after the fourth that the park will close their gates and not let any one inm
Anytime around the fourth is camping mahem. Some people book 6 months in advance. Availability is nil any where near the Guadalupe River. The closest you will find is at Cascade Caverns next to Boerne. Theirs is a first come first serve basis. However space is abundant. They have a huge tent camping area that is never packed.
Not free, no state park is free, your best bet is look up pricing on the internet, just pull up the park site. Its $7 for adults not sure about kids.
Wrong Jose. To fish in the waters that cross property of, or directly adjacent to, a Texas State Park you do not need a State of Texas fixing license. That is of course if you paid admission to said state park. Waters involved with adjacency to a state park, you must be fishing from state park property and not in the waters. Being in a boat next to or near state park property still requires a fishing license. These rules were established with our 2013 state legislature.
Yes ... Ask Park Rangers at Entrance for complete details
I don't know how long you can stay.
Contact Park Rangers for Proper Rules on Grilling ... Telephone Number is in Overview above
Its alright, can always catch some little perch. But the waters a little shallow throughout. Better off looking at Blanco state park.. worth the extra little drive
You can, but there are also plenty of the basic ones there for public use.
If you like camping, you can purchase yearly pass.
Jose ... Call the Telephone number Located in Overview above the Park Rangers will be glad to help you
$6/person admission. There is a beachy area, but the water is shallow. The camping sites are beautiful!
I asked the same question. The answer is that it's too far north and doesn't have any.
I find it cold now. However, there were many in the river last weekend.
Yes you can. They do a have sign says no public display. I think you do right way no problem
Yes ... Call Direct and Confirm with Office ... Telephone number is in Overview above
They have sights with and without power and water. Showers available
2pm
Following information is from the board displaying the fee at the entrance to the park: OUR FEES FOR PARK ENTRANCE & FACILITIES ARE AS FOLLOWS: ENTRANCE FEES - PRICE PER DAY: ADULT 13 OR OLDER - $7 CHILD UNDER 13 - FREE FACILITY FEES (ADD ENTRANCE FEES) - PRICE PER NIGHT: TURKEY SINK (ELECTRIC & WATER - 50AMP) - $24 CEDAR SAGE (ELECTRIC & WATER - 30AMP - 20FT. TRAILER MAX.) - $20 WAGON FORD (WALK-IN WATER ONLY) - $15
There's a town about 15 mins away with restaurants. At the park you can BBQ. There are charcoal grills at each campsite or the day use picnic tables. I believe the park is under a burn ban so no charcoal or wood fires at the moment. Only gas fires for cooking.
If you know a date you want to go it is wise to make reservations. Popular dates, as Sarah said, will fill fast. When capacity is reached, only those with reservations will be allowed in.
Yes! There are plenty of places along the river for kids and adults to enjoy swimming and splashing about!
Yes they do turkey sink campground 30/50 cedar sage 30 amp electric and water
In September the local night temperatures vary in the high 60's
Just left yesterday. Water temperature was great for swimming. We noticed lots of kids in the water over the past 7 days.
Leash law enforced. Also some trails are specifically marked where dogs can't be on. I think they might have been horse riding trails if I recall correctly.
While the parks are now reopened to full capacity, it is still advisable to purchase a day pass ahead of your visit. Pets are welcome. We took our Dutch Shepard and she had a blast
If they still do not open 100% and you have to make an appointment in advance to go
Yes
Yes you can use both gas and charcoal
Yes you can have BBQ grills and they also have some there as well
Yes, please do and also, trail side parking is on the north side of the park and camping ,picnic parking are on the other side. Plan accordingly.
Yes
There was a guard station where we stopped and paid... It was on the road, just drive up farther than you think and it will be there. For us out of state was $7 per person over the age of 13.
We ordered online and even though we arrived before it came, they could look up our name. Plus Saved on our online reservations. Saved on park purchases and got us in at Enchanted Rock.
No you cannot hunt here
Yes even if you only want to use the back portion of the park which has a separate entrance. Your reservation must be picked up at the main entrance before using either part of the park.
The river is a little low, murky in the deep pools but clear near rapids. Cool enough to enjoy.
I went twice in the past month. People were drinking, they just all had coozies. For sure NO GLASS
Did not see one at the main parking area, but we only went for the day. So not sure about the camping area..
It's by reservation only so I don't believe it will ever be crowded.
No, they will not let you in unless you have a reservation.
The best spot is along Bald Cypress Trail. It's not very deep, but pretty location
Campgrounds and Camping Reservations - Texas State Parks https://texasstateparks.reserveamerica.com/
We brought our bikes. It's a distance from showers, park store, etc. Doable walking, riding or driving though if you enjoy the outdoors as much as we do. There's walk-in campsites with just community shared water close to the river that's pretty. More privacy sites with water/electricity/big tent pads close to the trails. There's really nice parking lots close to the Discovery center that has a scenic view for floating the Guadalupe and picnicking so you can choose your camp for the best preferences to meet your needs/wants when you call to make a reservation (they know the great spots to recommend lol) and just park and float until contentment is achieved!
The park is currently closed through July 14. We were there at the end of June and really enjoyed the park. We never had an issue there (or at any state park) with is rangers "harassing" us. Just follow the park rules and have a good time!
Yes
For those sites which are reservable try recreation.gov
The park has a $7 entrance fee and several types of campsites ranging from $15 to $24 per night. https://tpwd.texas.gov/state-parks/guadalupe-river/fees-facilities/campsites
This is my family's favorite place to camp! It's beautiful and peaceful. You can just stop in and get a site if you forgot to make reservations. Of course that is subject to availability.
Including tent camping, RV camping, and large trailer camping. All equipped with barbecues and available sites with power and Sewer water. lots of shade trees very nice. Close to the water and hiking trails
It's been awhile since I've been to GSP there is no way to get down to the river other then a steep hill with steps. In the Turkeysink area the road is paved around the campground and have a cement pads to park RV or car.I just remember seeing dirt trails. They may have a trail I'm unaware of for your needs You may want to call the park and ask before you go.
I don't think it is. You have to go during the business hours to pay
Check with the park, for 3 weeks there has been a restriction on making fires that produce ash. They were only allowing use of propane gas.
Disabled veterans get free entry, although you have to apply for the pass. I think veterans in general receive a discount for entry.
You need to drive further ahead about a mile after check in with the parking Guards post.
Yes there are overnight campgrounds.
There is one hotel in Bulverde that is nearby
I was there Sunday. $7 to get in for everyone 13 & up. I recommend making reservations online before going bc the park does fill up, and they only allow so many cars in without reservations.
Yes, $7 for 13 & up. 12 & under are free. I highly recommend making reservations. They only allow a certain amount of cars in without reservations. We arrived at 12, and they were only allowing 8 more cars in that didn't have reservations. When we left, they were turning people away.
Depending on how busy the park is on the day of your arrival I would suggest getting a reservation. If the park is too busy and if you don't have a reservation the park will close to visitors unless you have a reservation.
If you can.
Its alright though you have to keep an eye on the tubers who randomly drift by in packs. Alsotry not to fish in the shallow, 1 no good sized fish there and 2 lots of kids. Losing a lure could end up in a little ones foot.
I think you can do that near the shallow rock area, it is an arwa about 10 feet into the river and the river goes another 20 feet across, so thay should bw plenty of room
Yes I think so. The last time I was there I saw like 2. But you can call to ask them they'll explain better
But they are like any state park grills. Not in great shape. We carry grills made out of aluminium trays.
Yes there are but some are in the sun. We take a canopy with us.
$70 for a year. If you just want a day pass it's $8 per person 13 and up.
Last time I checked it was 20 or $24 for the night... and like they already mentioned $7 for anybody older than 13 for the day. If you're going during a weekend I highly recommend you getting there As soon as they open because the lines get long during the summer vacation months.
You can make a reservation online/ by phone and arrive by 10pm. You can also arrive after the office closed without one and just fill out an overnight check in sheet. Just make sure to check in the next morning by 9am if you do the later.
7 bucks per person or 70 for a starter park pass for a year off 1 full free car
I imagine that's something that they haven't really encountered yet. You would probably have to get a spot where you drive into the camping spot to set up mostly in your area. Your best bet would be to call them directly and ask.
If you look on their website that's posted on this page it'll show you the reservation number
Yes
Every campsite does have water and electricity. The pressure is good, and is safe to drink. There is a different area of primitive camping that has a central water area to share.
Yes you can swim in the river. The water is pretty clear and shallow
I believe so
No, I think you might be thinking of colorado Bend or Hamilton Pool in Dripping Springs Tx. Texas has an app for the state parks that gives excellant discription.
Yes. Might be able to catch something!
No. Buescher State park does.
No, if you pay entry fee into park or buy the state park pass, you do not need a fishing license.
No. All state Parks are free. They even supply you with fishing poles and bait.
State park law says no public display
They made a pad for the tents to go on. Higher ground area for tent. You dont need anything.
None publicly announced
Not sure about the fishing but they are renovating the shower/bathrooms for the overnight camping area. I would call ahead before booking to see if they're open.
Yes
Not sure Shawn..I've never seen them at Guadalupe state park..been there about 8 times & honestly never really paid much attention.they want everyone to stay on the trail. And the trails are pretty narrow...peace & happy trails!
Trails are well marked and the maps are accurate. You'll see people on the trails, but they are not crowded. You'll see deer, lizards, rabbits, etc.
Not naturally. Alligators are not native to this area. However, a few years ago an alligator was spotted in the Guadalupe river, it was speculated that someone had released it into the river.
Only if you want to camp out overnight.
They allow pets as long as they are on a lease.
Yes, still in effect. Also, no potable water. Only potapotty are available to use
Yes
Like Molly, i didn't see one. What i saw of the river,a kayak or canoe is as big as you could safely use
w paid 32 for 3 adults n 3 kids
Adults are 8 and under 13 is 5. If you go, you must take your own water. There is no potable (drinkable, bath-able, skin expose-able) in the park until further notice. Only toilets have access to water until drought ends and aquifer is replenished. No sinks. No faucets. No water connections to R.V.s of any sort. This park is supplied usable water from area wells. Those have gone dry or in high alkaline bed bases and not for human consumption.
Yes you can camp there,go early to get a good spot
No volleyball courts. No flat ground large enough for one. Everything slopes down to the river. And that is not much. Don't expect to go fishing in it this time of year. You have a mud bog up to your knees. April and May are the months to go to this park.
And
Though that is the best place to fish, don't expect to catch much if any thing. The up river levels are very low causing the pH of the water to be dramatic high. The fish will not be biting and I personally would not swim in the river. Plus there is no potable (drinkable) water in the park due to plumbing difficulty of the upgrades in the park. Go to Blanco S.P. instead. The fishing should be awesome there. Water levels are maintained better there and will be less crowded. You would never find me in the Guadalupe River State Park during this week, ?Memorial Day, or Labor day. Just not worth it.
We always carry our mini gas grill, but ground fires may not be allowed, depending on recent rainfall.
You sure can, but you will need to find enough gold to cover the entrance to the park in order to make a profit. 🤑

7 dlls, free children
I would choose something else. Paddle boat would be quite a work out.
Yes
Yes
No zip lines but great wading and fun in the Guadalupe River. There is a discovery center for the younger set. The bird blind is one of the best for bird watching. In late spring expect painted buntings and golden cheek warblers. Deer with nice racks can be seen feeding near the camp grounds.
Ovenight car/tent/rv camping is $20. You can get one free night camping with a Texas State Park Pass.
