We brought our bikes. It's a distance from showers, park store, etc. Doable walking, riding or driving though if you enjoy the outdoors as much as we do. There's walk-in campsites with just community shared water close to the river that's pretty. More privacy sites with water/electricity/big tent pads close to the trails. There's really nice parking lots close to the Discovery center that has a scenic view for floating the Guadalupe and picnicking so you can choose your camp for the best preferences to meet your needs/wants when you call to make a reservation (they know the great spots to recommend lol) and just park and float until contentment is achieved!
Close to the river is nicer
There are no "closer" spots to any stores by Guadalupe park. It is a long driveway in before the sites.
Close to the river. My daughter reserved our tickets so not so sure about site numbers.
