Very nice zoo. Came from Detroit to see animals we don’t have at the Detroit zoo. I personally didn’t get to see very many, as the group I was with was slow moving lol. This is obviously no fault of the zoo but I missed a lot and I will certainly have to come back. From what I did see, it appears to be a very nice zoo and the animals were pretty active. They do also have a small aquarium which is included with admission. You can easily get through the aquarium in half an hour, so don’t expect to spend a long time there. They do have a touch tank where you can touch rays and small sharks. The kids really enjoyed that.
The zoo does have a train that doesn’t go very far, but it’s only $2.50 per person, they also have a merry go round for $2 each. They of course also have places to buy souvenirs and get your face painted.
The coolest exhibit I saw there was the museum of natural history that had lots of detailed sculptures of animals that were once in America but are now extinct such as giant sloths, mastodons, etc. This building also had a touch tank where you can touch sturgeon.
There are quite a few places to eat there, but a lot appeared to be closed. Be prepared to pay a premium for bottled water, you may want to consider bringing your own, as it was $4 per bottle
Overall, we had a fun time and I definitely want to come back so I can see everything. I would definitely check this out if you’re in the area and if you’re in Detroit, I’d suggest visiting this zoo as a change from the one in Detroit if you’d like to see some different animals. Zoo is only about an hour away from Detroit.

So much to see and do here at the Toledo Zoo, definitely make a day for it. My only complaint is the aquarium gets so ridiculously over crowded that it is nearly impossible to enjoy anything because you end up elbow to elbow with everyone. Which sucks because the aquarium was so cool but way too busy to stop and admire anything. Other then that it was fun! Lots of animals to see and exhibits to walk through.

We always love going to the Toledo Zoo for the lights, and this year was better than ever. After two decades of visiting every year, the Aviary was FINALLY open and we got to see some amazing specimens. Lots of other animals were out, too. …
The only rides are the train and carousel, if that helps. I know for a fact that handicaps can ride the train, and maybe can ride the carousel. And they have electric wheelchairs and regular wheelchairs you can push, if that's any help.

Hello, the zoo closes at 4 pm according to Google and the last time we went which was last week, (April 2018). I'm not 100 percent on the price, we bought a membership for 100.00
Yes, any kind of stroller. Some attractions like the aquarium and the carousel do not allow strollers inside so there is stroller parking outside of them. I have yet to have anybody mess with my things while it was parked and I've done it about a dozen times
The membership pays for itself in only 2-3 trips. Price is about $18/adult to get in. With a membership you get free parking and entry all year, as many times as you can go, and a free trip to the Lights before Christmas, and discounts at gift shops, restaurants at the zoo, and concerts. Unless you're only going once, its worth it!
Adults non lucus county is $21.00 children under 2 are free kids (2yrs old to 11) are $18.00
If you are a lucus county resident its
Adult $19.00 and 2-11yr olds are $16.00 once again, child under 2 is free.
The animals will be fine I know for a fact people at the Toledo zoo care a lot for the animals and will help it and like the other person said probably a fight I hope you enjoyed your visit!
I would check the website to be sure. I remember seeing strollers, but I don't remember wagons, but that doesn't mean they don't. Sorry I wasn't much help.
You can in the zoo itself. I would argue that many of the indoor sections would be able to be navigated, but not all will be easy. The "pop up" tents during the lights would be difficult to navigate and the doors have no electric assist so you would need assistance to hold both doors open due to a clearance that is probably under 32 inches.
Cassdace the zoo open year round except for on Tuesday's. The little boo which is for kids 5 and under and pumpkin patch for 5&up. Those are the weekend of Oct 15th an 16th from 10-3. If you want the kids to trick or treat there is a charge of I believe $7 each child. The lights before Christmas is Nov 29th-Dec 31 starts at 5:30. I hope this helps you out
On weekdays in September & October, seniors 60 and better enjoy…
• Free admission on Wednesdays in September and October!
• Free parking in the Anthony Wayne Trail parking lot
• Free small coffee & mini-muffin at Northern Ice concession stand (10 a.m. – 2 p.m.)
• 15% discount on merchandise in our gift shops
• 10% discount on Memberships
I didn't see any quokkas (wallabys) on my last visit, and they have no listing of them at the zoo. They do have a Tasmanian Devil exhibit now, if you are fond of animals from the Australia region.
Zoo is currently closed on Tuesdays. We have not needed advanced reservations. During summer months or once restrictions lifted, they might open on Tuesdays
Yes. Open. 22 an adult. 18 I think a kid. Or year pass includes lights before Xmas. Free parking and what not. 2 adults and said number of kids... That may or may not be the actual amount you have lol but is included. It was 109.
We got tickets thru work, the Zoo told us as long as we had our tickets in advance, we didn't need to make a reservation...we arrived around 4:30 and we had no problem getting in...the lights were beautiful.🎄🌟
I am sorry, I do not have that information. I think you could call the Zoo and ask what day is their senior day.
But, Seniors pay three dollars
less anyway. Have a great time at the Zoo.
Too much for what they offer is my conclusion on entrance fee. Way too much. Heck even $10 per person would be my opinion as the Zoo is far from being a great place as most animals are not even out. Hardly any animals at all and to see up close you have to pay more. How it stays open surprises me as I can't believe people are willing to pay the fees.
Took my grandson to the toledo zoo yesterday ,his first trip , the price for two adults and a 4 year old was 60.00 ,why to high but I payed it, so much was closed because of that I was up disappointed

Should have purchased the membership. I have 2 kids and if we go twice a year it pays for itself. Also on the website it shows what's open.
Lots of green areas and table spaces for picnics. Some areas like the aquarium do not allow carts or strollers so a cooler would have to be left in the outside area, as a heads up.
Hello, my church group is coming on the tenth of August. What is your ticket price for 1adult ? Our kids are being taken care of via church.
Also is there a discount for 55yrs and older ?
Thank you.

How many miles is it to walk the entire trail including the indoor exhibits? I’m guessing like 1.5-2 mile walk...
Denise De La Garza | Jan 15, 2020
Tanya M. | Jan 16, 2020
Hmmm... Never measured, to be honest. Lol But I would say at least 2 miles, if not 3. It's always a lot of walk when visiting the zoo.
Was just there this past Saturday and yes they have wheelchairs but as stated before they are on a first come first serve basis. I suggest calling ahead to see if you can possibly reserve one.
Is the zoo open on July 4th? Looking to plan a trip around then

The zoo is open 365 days a year I've lived in Toledo for 52 years and I've only seen a close during weather that's it otherwise it's open all the time from 10 to 5 in the summertime are shorter hours in the winter
is there a train running through the zoo for seniors who can't walk far
Judy Gibson | Jan 15, 2020
Tiffany M | Jan 16, 2020
There is a train, but it only goes around one little part of the zoo. (The african safari) as for getting around end to end of the zoo, no there is no train or shuttle. There are wheelchairs and motorized scooters that can be rented.
Is your name amy

$25 for seniors (60+)
$30 for zoo members
$35 for non members
Availability is first come first served. Availability dependent on weather and season. Rentals are for the duration of stay and must be returned prior to leaving the zoo.
There is. https://www-wtol-com.cdn.ampproject.org/v/www.wtol.com/2019/02/12/polar-bear-cub-born-toledo-zoo/?amp_js_v=a2&_gsa=1&outputType=amp&usqp=mq331AQCCAE%3D#referrer=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.google.com&_tf=From%20%251%24s&share=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.wtol.com%2F2019%2F02%2F12%2Fpolar-bear-cub-born-toledo-zoo%2F
You will still be able to see the animals in the aquarium and reptile buildings. They start putting the animals away around 4pm or so.. my advice would be to make a little more time for your zoo visit by going a little earlier than planned. You will get to see both that way :)
The Zoo requires a valid ID before wheelchairs and scooters can be rented. Scooter rental rates: Seniors (60+): $25.00 Zoo Members: $30.00 Non-members: $35.00 Please note: All scooter riders must be 18 years or older Scooters are provided for visitors first come first served
My question is, where is the stone elephant statue that was at the front of the zoo yrs ago? My sister and I had a pic of us on the elephant. Is it located somewhere else??
Janice Heitsche | Jan 15, 2019
Ryan Walsh | Jan 16, 2019
It is located across from the Carnivore cafe on the historic South Side of the zoo.
We went there in March, which was the end of winter. I don't remember seeing any tram. To get to the other end of the zoo, we had to walk over a enclosed bridge that was over the expressway. It's a decent size zoo but not tons of walking the Detroit zoo for example. Well worth it to check this place out.
Don't know for sure. Usually places decorate right around Thanksgiving time. If u want to know 4 sure give them a call. They can give you correct exact timing for this. Also it MIGHT be on the zoo web site.
Is there free admissions for lucas county residents on monday sept 3 and can they bring a guest
Vlog King | Jan 15, 2019
Danny Foley | Jan 16, 2019
Unfortunately no. It is a federal holiday so free Monday does not apply.
Is there any discount for college students from university of Toledo
Krishna Dusane | Jan 15, 2019
Wanda Davis | Jan 16, 2019
No Monday's are free if you get there between 10 a.m. and 12 p.m. other than that a membership. I hope this helps out. If you go to toledozoo.org it has a lot more info.
How many Elephant s do you have now? And how old are the two younger ones?
Jerri Mcginnis | Jan 15, 2019
Adam Burhart | Jan 16, 2019
There is Lucas, Renee, and Twiggy. Not sure of their ages.
Free Mondays. Lucas county residents with valid ID are admitted for freeevery Monday between 10 a.m. and 12 p.m. (except Monday holidays orMondays when the Zoo is closed).
They have a ramp for every exhibit i believe so there shouldn't be a problem for anyone to see the animals and the train around the safari is also accessible for people with handicaps
You should call they have a lot of discounts... And for 100$ you can get a year pass into the park for your house that includes free parking. Oh and go on Groupon and try Kroger
Actually other Zoo memberships will get you half off at Toledo Zoo including African Wildlife Safari. If you go to the Toledo Zoo website you can see the list of other zoos they accept 50% discounts from.
Yes they have them at both entrances. There is a rental fee but it seemed reasonable. I find the back of the zoo to be an easier less congested entrance. No line and plenty of front row and handicap parking.
I want to say it is about $18 per adult and $13 per child. Parking is about $9. Honestly you would be so much better off investing in a yearly pass which includes parking if you plan more than 1 visit this year.
Yes they do. It takes two tickets per person to ride them. Tickets are $4 each, 7 for $17 and they also offer an all night pass for I believe it was $25. They are only available to ride during the Lights Before Christmas so you don't have much time left to visit.
The regular zoo closes at 4:00. The lights open at 5:00, last admission at 8:00. Closes Sunday through Thursday at 9:00; closes Friday and Saturday at 10pm. Dress warm.
