We noticed several people beought coolers of food marked them with their name and left them sitting under the trees by the picnic table area that way they wouldnt have to walk all the way back to parking lot to bring in lunch. (Which is what we did. They stamp your hand when you exit the zoo so can get back in.)

Yes you can. The seating inside the air conditioned food buiding is reserved for those aho purchase food and drink from the zoo. There are plenty of places to sit and eat the food you bring from home.
